Wife and I moved to North Carolina nearly four years ago. Not long after we discovered Smithfield's. While not a big fast food guy I must admit I'm quite impressed by this chain. For fast food their food quality is quite high, along with quality side selections. Their service is second only to Chick-fil-A's and it's a very close second. Good food value, pleasant and attentive staff, beautiful architecture and the best fast food dining in atmosphere. It's my impression that thier customers are passionate and loyal and help to create a pleasant dining experience. Stop here before any other fast food restaurants if looking to have a quick eat out or carryout. Very family friendly.

As a customer, the food and staff are great, the company in the dining area not so much. Hey Town of Clayton guys driving and sitting on your cans all day, doing little work in your big, white trucks - CLEAN up your mess at the tables. Are your hands too soft to dump your plates in the garbage??? Stop leaving your sucked off chicken bones for the hard working staff to dump. I have sat in the dining room many times to witness you Town of Clayton lazyboys being rude and obnoxious to the hard-working staff. Do better. Clean up after yourselves. Stop being such pigs in a pen. Where I come from, people clean up the mess they've made. So can you.
I really enjoyed their potato salad. I wanted something to eat that was quick to get but was close to home cooking. The restaurant was clean, the employees were friendly and helpful and I had a delicious dinner! I’ll definitely be back!
The Smithfield BBQ in Clayton, NC was outstanding. The care of the staff for the customer was phenomenal. No one shirked their responsibility in serving. Service was prompt and exactly what was needed. To add, the food was great.

Huge chicken breast and wing. Tasty Brunswick stew. Ok potato salad. Ok pork barbeque. Good sweet tea.
New building. Food & service was good. Restrooms were clean and no touch sensors are used on faucets, soap, & hand towel dispenser. Entrance/exit for drive thru/parking was easy.
Very friendly staff and yummy food. Price is a little steep but so is everywhere else...

Smithfield’s barbecue in Clayton is a very nice restaurant. It is clean and spacious with a very good wait staff. The food is a great value for the money. My only suggestion would be to do a better job of peeling the shrimp before you fry them.
