BARcelona Tapas is a vibrant spot in downtown Clayton, offering a delightful fusion of Spanish flair and culinary excellence. The lively atmosphere is complemented by creative martinis and live music (Wednesday nights). The seafood paella steals the show with its rich flavors, while the goat cheese queso remains our consistent favorite. Don’t sleep on those perfectly cooked gambas and brilliant tuna steak. Having missed this spot during its two-year hiatus and relocation, the return of BARcelona Tapas is a celebration in itself. Frank Schmitz, the heart and soul of this culinary masterpiece, has been delivering exceptional food to Clayton for over two decades. The reopening in the heart of downtown Clayton makes me happy!

BARcelona is back and even better than I remember! We were so disappointed when they closed their doors, but the new location is cozy, trendy and tastier than ever. The churros are a MUST. Thank you for reopening!

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Barcelona in Clayton, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting, with a cozy atmosphere that sets the stage for a delightful meal. The menu at Barcelona is a culinary journey, offering a diverse selection of Spanish-inspired dishes that cater to various palates. The tapas-style dining allows for a communal meal, perfect for sharing and savoring different flavors. The service was great as well. Now, let's talk about the food – it was delicious. Every dish was deliciously different and flavorful. The Empanadas were a standout, perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, complemented by a creamy sauce. The Gambas al Ajillo, with succulent shrimp in a garlic-infused olive oil, was another highlight that left a lasting impression. Finally, the Ahi Tuna, still smiling. To complement the meal, the drink menu offers an extensive selection of Spanish wines and creative cocktails. The Sangria was a refreshing choice, perfectly balanced and served in a generous portion. In conclusion, my dining experience at Barcelona in Clayton was nothing short of amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone seeking an authentic and memorable Spanish dining experience. Thanks Frank, I’m looking forward to having happy hour with friends there.

Had a great night at Barcelona's. Good food, service, music, and atmosphere. Yes, it is smaller than the original place, but I found it quite nice. Can definitely recommend.

Great place for tapas! Service was great and Leslie's recommendations was definitely on point. Food was great. We tried the bacalao, the goat cheese with tomato sauce, beef skewers, the meatballs, and the mussels. The goat cheese and bacalao was the best. Definitely try those out. There was a bit of was a bit of a wait for the food, but as always the good food takes time!!

This is easily my favorite restaurant in St. Louis. The goat cheese (as pictured) is to die for, and the ambiance of the restaurant is not only true to Spanish cuisine, but feels homey after the many events I have shared there. I would also recommend going on a night with live music. I have never had a bad experience here in the many years I have been eating at this restaurant.

One of my favorite restaurants. A lot of tapas choices and I love the seafood paella and the calamari the best!

BARCELONA, home of Tapas, which translates to “small plate”. Wide spectrum of menu options. Indoor/outdoor seating with a nice view of the business commerce district. Queso de Cabra al Horno – unbelievable dish for a starter, guiding you throughout the meal. I would called it marinara sauce, but it has a certain thickness to it, complimented by the cheesy centerpiece. Served w/ lightly toasted bread slices, our table ended up asking for more. ***Decent-sized establishment, with many things to offer. Service was prompt and friendly. Inside is clean and well-kept, everything worked great. Wouldn’t hesitate for a return visit***

#Barcelona...great happy hour specials! Due to a misunderstanding we were given the marinaria and soft, melted goat cheese as a free/bonus snack- I hate goat cheese but it was amazing!

Nice environment for dinner outside on sidewalk. When the weather allows it the atmosphere is great. Ordered shrimp, mushrooms, and calamari which were great. We ordered mussels which did not taste right? Also question the mussels sauce choice, a tomato based-paste. But overall it was a nice dinner., service was good , not great or outstanding.

We went here for a work birthday lunch with about 25 people. They took great care of us, including splitting the checks with no mistakes. The wait for our food was very reasonable - they brought out dishes as they were ready. We were sat at two rows of tables, but that was understandable given our group size. Very little to complain about other than I thought my meal was on the pricey side. Other people thought their dishes were great values. So, it varies from dish to dish.

I wish they were open, such a fun atmosphere, normally. The food is always amazing, the beet salad and the brussel sprouts were fabulous, the meatballs are always awesome. Good to go Services great and I highly recommend it. Everything was hot and made to order.

I've only been here once, but I had a good experience. The food was very good, but a tad pricey. It was a great place for happy hour, but it was a little crowded. If you can get there at the right time, you can have an enjoyable time. Update: came here another time. Not THAT crowded and service slowed considerably over time. The food was still good and beer still cold.
