A must visit restaurant in a small town Clayton! My friend advised me to make a reservation a few days ahead of our trip. Glad we did that. You might not get in if call on the same day. Love their bread with the 2 kinds of their in-house dips. Gazpacho soup was healthy and delicious. Steak Tartare was a little modern and no egg. Fresh Carolina Mountain trout was seasoned just right with a pint of nuts on top of rice and a side of their farm fresh side. I picked collard greens as a side and it was outstanding. The owner was very friendly and gave a warm welcome to us. Our waiter was awesome.
We had a great time early on Saturday evening. We sat at the bar. Both bar tenders provided 5 star quality service. Several team members brought out the courses. Everything - delicious! The split meal option allowed us to even get dessert. We look forward to returning!
We were looking for a unique dinning experience and this place didn't disappointed us. Great menu options with a unique combination of flavors. The homemade bread was exquisite offered with homemade butter.
Great ambience, friendly and attentive staff.
For dessert we order homemade vanilla bean ice cream. Simply delicious!
We will remember this dinning experience for sure.
We are here on vacation.
Service was fast. Our waitress explained the menu and specials very well. Ambience is nice. The bar struggled with my old fashioned but it was okay overall. Fried oysters were.. interesting. The Cesar chopped salad was a good appetizer portion and the candied bacon was a nice touch. The shrimp, sausage, and chicken was amazing. My guest had scallops and enjoyed them. Overall it was a nice evening dining out.
Had a lovely dinner here for our anniversary. Everything we ordered was delicious and service was attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely be back when in Clayton.
Didn’t expect fine dining in the hinterlands of North Georgia, but here it is. Excellence from service to cuisine to presentation. We started with brut bubbly. The wine list has something for everyone. I had rainbow trout with okra and corn. Superb! My wife had shrimp and grits and loved it. It was the usual fare with an added twist of including a fine piece of chicken. The bread is fresh and had savory bread straws with it. No room for dessert but it looked good at the surrounding tables. My fish was so fresh I suggested maybe wild bears catch it for them. They said they do, but they’re trained - not wild.
Wonderful restaurant with a relaxed vibe and filled with people who care about the experience. The food was fantastic, the cocktails delicious, but the employees are what make this a must visit.
My husband & I enjoyed everything about our experience here. We didn’t realize that we needed reservations but the hostess was so nice and took down our phone number to give us a call once a seat at the bar opened up. Drinks were delicious, I enjoyed the mocktail which was a fun drink. The house made butter was amazing! We ordered the Gouda fritters as an appetizer, the pepper jam that came with it was a perfect combo of sweet & spicy paired with the fritters. We had the halibut & pork chop for our meals. Everything was cooked perfectly & tasted great. The bartenders were also very attentive & kind. Perfect spot for a special dinner.
Great atmosphere they have big open space general seating and warm feeling. Noise is medium, no loud areas or echoes. Lots of sitting in the back as well. Bartending staff are fantastic along with waiting staff.
Food was delicious, great presentation great flavors everything fresh you could tell. For lunch we had the Gouda fried cheese balls as appetizers amazing and then grilled Caesar salad with homemade Caesar dressing. Delicious!
Parking on main street is limited you will have a tough time around lunchtime or busy times to find a parking place so come early. They do take reservations and I suggest you do so on weekends and weeknights.
We loved this place so much we went back for dinner and had the redfish special and duck breast. Absolutely delicious appetizers, Coca-Cola pork cheeks noted in the photos.
We sat at the bar both times and had Andrew as a our bartender/server - very friendly very serviceable and provided great meal recommendations.
I would go here over and over again it’s definitely family oriented as well so you could go there sit at the bar and watch a game on the TV or sit at a table and enjoy a nice meal with your family
It definitely lived up to the reputation!
I want to try more of the menu as the food was outstanding. Service from Joey was excellent.
