Wanted Polish food and drove over 60 miles to this restaurant after reading these reviews. They are absolutely right. The food here was excellent, and comes in heaping portions, at very reasonable prices. The pierogis and cabbage rolls were very good, but the city chicken tasted just like my mom used to make! They came on a platter with a choice of starter and several of us got the beef barley soup, which was so chock full of meat and veggies that it could have been the meal in itself. Try the rice pudding. Again, the portion was huge, and it came with a small mountain of whipped cream covered with cinnamon. The food here was worth every inch of the way we drove to get there!

Service is very friendly and quick. The food is awesome, and the menu the size of a phonebook. If you can't find something you like, food just isn't your thing. Highly recommend this place.

We love trying different diners for breakfast. This was a 30 minute drive for us, but it was worth it. Our order was excellent. Love that coffee was in a small pot left on the table. Extremely friendly service. The table of what seemed to be "regulars" behind us were very entertaining. Extensive menu. We will definitely return.

Most excellent. Good food, good price, good service and a carafe of coffee when I ordered coffee. No need to wait for a server to warm up my coffee, priceless!

The chimney I'd the best. Where else can two people go to breakfast for under $10? Good food and better people.

The food itself. I have been going there almost every morning.
pros:
*pancakes.totally big and awesome.
*bacon:always great.
*breakfast wraps:sure beats an egg mcmuffin.
*club sandwiches:good,light meal.
cons:
*sausage and home fries:greasy.if you like these 2 things, ask for light on home fries.
*t-bone steak:tough, good taste but tough to cut.
*french toast:good taste but not your moneys worth, verysmall pieces.

Like eating at Grandma's house!. Yummy food, prepared in old world style just like grandma used to make it. And, the prices are very civil too. You gotta have a piece of their pies for dessert. Impossible to leave this place unhappy! I don't care that the bathrooms are not the cleanest in the world. Their food is making up for it. Also, the staff is always cheerful and friendly.

This restaurant, in the Slavic Village area of Cleveland, was amazing. The food was much like eating the old-school recipes that my family has. The sauce for the stuffed cabbage (halupki) was thicker than what I have had before, and the dessert there was enough to launch me into the happiest food coma of my life.

Red Chimney has been around for decades. Food is scrumptious, portions are huge, staff seems happy and are always friendly. Clientele is basically local and staff know many folks by name. Neighborhood hangout for police force so you know it is good. I love to go here, especially for their liver and onions! Great honestly cuisine. Almost always enough food for two meals unless you have a huge appetite.

This place is everything you look for in a breakfast family diner. The service was extraordinarily friendly, the food was delicious, and atmosphere cozy. Now...I rank the atmosphere 5. This is not a white napkin style restaurant, but when you want breakfast diner atmosphere, this place has it. And it was well kept. The best thing saved for last: the speed of service. We have a large family: more than 4 kids and two adults. From the time we sat down to the time we had our food was approximately 4-5 minutes. I've had drive thru orders take longer and not complained. The portions were also massive. We will be back at the Red Chimney.

Red Chimney is the staple restaurant in Slavic Village. It's got to be one of the only places to get a quality meal and service in this area. Kinda sad that we don't have many choices, but this one is solid. Classic Diner atmosphere and the classic food. Nothing too fancy, it's just right. The choices might not be the healthiest but it's a great spot to get an inexpensive bite to eat.

So I finally got the guts to cheat and try another breakfast spot in the hood. It's like an old school diner with good ole fashion homemade dishes for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Prices weren't too bad and I really liked the taste of their coffee. I tried the 2 egg breakfast special and had no compliants. Everything was cooked well and tasted excellent. I'm definitely about to patronize this restaurant more now. I took a bowl of chicken soup home, and I already wanna try the stuffed cabbage, lol. This is the kinda place that looks terrible on the outside, but the food is Hella good. It's definitely a hidden gem.

Good home cooked food. Ordered the chicken noodle soup it was a beautiful dark yellow color with thin noodles plenty of tender chicken and the nice thing was it was not over salted and had a great flavor. The chicken with dumplings was excellent. Nice salad and the rolls were served warm. Also the use of room temperature butter made spreading it very easy. Service was very good. Prices are very reasonable.

Food is always very good. Place was very busy, prices have gone up but are still very reasonable. Would have given 5 stars but I wasn't overly impressed with the cleanliness. I Will continue patronizing this establishment.

An associate recommended I go for the grilled chicken dinner with potato and vegetable. Instead I enjoyed a chicken Philly with fries and (2) onion rings + bbq sauce. It was pretty damned good! This eatery seems to be old fashioned ( cash 💵 only) and is certainly a quiet restaurant. They have breakfast lunch and dinner so you have quite a few options. A sweet spot to go to within Slavic Village

Great place. Accommodated a group of 8 fairly quickly. All dishes were great especially for the prices. Chicken noodle soup is a big hit here.

I've lived in Cleveland all my life and passed by this place a million times but never been in. My boss took me there for breakfast and ordered us two of the $3 special. Eggs, potatoes, sausage or bacon and toast. Food came 6 minutes after ordering and I was amazed. I ordered scrambled w/homefries, bacon, wheat toast. It was at least 4 eggs. Maybe 5! Homefries we're delicious and took up 2/3 of a full size plate. 3 strips of bacon, done perfectly and wheat toast. Everything was great. Good coffee too and they fill your cups and leave a thermal pot of fresh coffee at the table. I loved it. Nice friendly people. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

My husband and I visit occasionally, usually for breakfast. Standard neighbirhood diner vibe. Staff is generally friendly, owner seems nice & involved with daily operations. I ordered the Greek omelet as a wrap with the potatoes out. (I got no onion, and pro tip: get a side of tzatki sauce!!). I think my husband got a cowboy or meat lovers omelet can't remember tbh. Food was really good, filling, and moderately affordable at $8 -$12 average a plate. Orange juice was $3 a glass no refill. I'm sure we'll be back again sometime.
