Me and some of my friends went to this place on 3 weekends back to back. I love the shawarma from this place and the live music on weekends is good. Overall, this is a decent place to hangout with friends once in a while.
Flavor. It's a surprising venue. They have belly dancers and a bar and it's packed sometimes. The food is tasteful. Diverse crowds, which I love.
The food was good but I wanted water and ended up having to get bottled water because the tap water was scary. Variety was great. Kids tried it and liked some of it.
Very good Arabic food. Also have a well rounded "American" menu for those that aren't adventurous. Very friendly waitress and exotic atmosphere
This place is amazing. I was wondering why it had a below 4 star rating and here is what’s up.
Smoke 💨
This is a hookah bar and a restaurant. There is smoking allowed anywhere in the facility there is no separation from smoking and non smoking. The hookah is amazing ! The staff is very attentive and the atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. There are a tun of flavors you can mix and match. Our waitress made her own special flavor and it was lovely.
Food
The food is middle eastern, it seemed very authentic and it was delicious. There are vegan options and large family style meals. The bakery is amazing ! Our desserts were delicious, we were even offered one on the house which was so special!
Gratuity is included, I am not sure why people are complacent so much about that. It really ensures that the service staff is well taken care of the pricing was incredibly fair to me.
Atmosphere
Apparently they have single act Arabian musicians on Saturdays. I am definitely going back for that. The seating is so cozy, big patterned pillows and comfortable booths. The lighting is dim and there are lanterns hung from the tin drop ceiling. Middle Easter decor and authentic clothing and flags. So cool ! There is a lot to look at. They also have an outdoor patio.
I will most definitely be bringing friends to this space. Thank you Jan Zaman for the amazing hospitality and service. 🙏🏻
My new favorite Middle Eastern restaurant in Cleveland, for its authentic ambience. The food is good too. Being able to smoke hookahs is a huge plus here for me, reminiscent of my time in Qatar. Full service bar with gigantic flat screen TVs above. Arabian music fills the atmosphere with delight & celebration. Just wish my wife & I would have went on a Saturday night (instead of Friday) when they have live music/dancing. But we'll be back. My wife wants us to return for both of our wedding anniversaries (Indonesia/US). My only two suggestions for improvement at Kan Zaman, is the dining ware. Wish they would use Middle Eastern styled plates/silverware/glasses/cups. The dishes are bland, non-alcoholic beverages are served in their plastic bottles, instead of glassware. They were also out of many popular flavors for the hookahs. That's the only couple reasons I gave it 4/5 stars. My compliments to the chef(s) for all the delicious meals. And the hummus is way better than anything store-bought.
Came from Columbus on a business trip. Good food, good atmosphere, and a plus, good hookah! Definitely worth the 10 mile trip I made from my work location. Will definitely visit again next time I’m in the area!
I am so happy that I found this place in Cleveland while on our trip to the Asian Lantern Festival. Kan Zaman is the best, authentic Arabic food I have ever eaten. Please do not mistake this place to just another Mediterranean food place this place is much much much more than that. The first thing which will catch you attention while you enter this place is the ambiance. I felt like I was visiting Arabian Night setup. One will fall in love with the decor I bet. The food is so so so amazing. Say it chicken shish with fries, shawarma chicken with rice or Kan Zaman appetizer all were so delicious. All their hummus and ganosh tabouli are freshly made every day. The restaurant is maintained clean. Our server Amy was so nice and polite. Baklava there is too good. Not to forget this place serves Hooka of different flavors so if you or your party are a fan of hooka this place is a must visit. Good comfy seating arrangements perfect for big group or families.
Khan Zaman is a delightful place. The decor is truly impressive! However, some attention and investment are needed to enhance the presentation of the tea pots and silverware. Adding authentic Moroccan tea to the menu would be a great addition. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
If I could give this place 10 stars, I'd give them 11. Absolutely immaculate food, service and atmosphere! I'll already can't wait to go back and will always recommend to anyone looking for authentic Middle Eastern food.
The Greek salad was the highlight of my meal. I also had fish and fries. The fish was okay, not a fan of cod, but I was hungry and ate it. I also had a few Hennessey and pineapples. Baby that bartender did they thang!! I almost forgot to take pictures but I got a few before devouring everything.
Stopped in there after a shift at Lutheran. My first time stopping in and I went for the bakery to get some tiramisu and coffee and they offered me to try some other things and everything was amazing. The tiramisu is top tier.
Food was great, ambience is great too. But one of the servers, amy was very rude and basically looked irritated to be working there. She was the main person ordering other severs around and really rude and would respond to any questions about the menu with utter rudeness. The only negative thing about this restaurant, otherwise the place is good.
Great experience. Very generous staff and cozy open seating arrangements. Loved the atmosphere. Good Hookah flavors and the prices too. A good stop for Hookah lovers ❤️
Update: visited on a Sunday evening and I enjoyed the chicken shish kabob with salad 🥗 and fries. Also had a hot pot of green tea 🍵
Had a sweet date at 𝐊𝐚𝐧 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 on a Monday evening. The dinner menu looked interesting but we merely visited to smoke hoohak 💨 and grab a few drinks. The Middle Eastern music/ decor was festive and was a great element that made my experience fun. Would love to return when there’s live performers. Definitely a unique place in the Ohio City neighborhood
We ordered Shish Twook sandwich, Chicken Shawarma Sandwich and Greek Salad. The taste of all these dishes was amazing. The ambience was unique, representing middle eastern culture. The delivery was also quick. Highly recommended if you want to try something new!
Food and hookah we're both very good. Pleasant staff, good service. Had a few items (like the lamb and eggs dish pictured) that I've not seen elsewhere.
Food is good ,they taking long time for order to be ready so the service was not good at all
I have NEVER been disappointed here! It has a great atmosphere with lots of culture. The food is delicious and cheap, make sure you try the Turkish coffee! They have a wide variety of hookah flavors and offer belly dancing entertainment on Saturday’s with a cover charge. It is always a great choice for date night and it’s right by the Ohio city area with plenty of nearby attractions as well

This is the best place that servers very good food, especially the kanzaman platters for vegetarians and chicken kabbab. Good drinks and very good hookah. The service and management are very friendly, this is a nice place to hang out with friends and play games .
