Awesome spot for a sunny day or evening. Straightforward offer of convenience food made with fresh ingredients (fish and seafood mostly). Staff is friendly and service is fast. If you’re into having a nice drink make sure you bring your own booze (charge of 3 USD applies). For more experiences like this follow @quiquinnv
Awesome little place right on the waterfront. Very cool setup, you order from a “boat” and then your food is brought to your table around back. Had the sampler platter and the fried shrimp and scallops were the best! Lightly battered and super flavorful.
We were traveling on 95 and wanted a break for lunch…. This was perfect, relaxing , great view, the friendliest staff and good food. Definitely will stop by again
Overall, this is a perfectly located place with tasty seafood that isn’t overly complicated - they let the freshness speak for itself. Soup was slightly under seasoned and fried clams were a little too fried which made this a 4 star review instead of 5 stars.
The view is marvellous and there’s something about the laughing with friends and family in the New England air that you can’t beat.
I would recommend this restaurant to others and would try it again. Prices are a little high at first glance, but unlike some 2 or 3 Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to you don’t leave hungry since portions are well sized.
This place was nice buy the water, in Clinton Connecticut! The food was Good I had Ahi Tuna(large portions)with a side of soy sauce! So ask for there wasabi dressing it taste better with the Ahi! My friend had the fish sandwich! Over all it was quite Yummy, and very chill on there outdoor patio( plenty of seating)!
I went here for dinner and I truly enjoyed my experience at Shanks. When we first got there all the tables outside were full, but they allowed us to sit at a table indoors while we waited for an outdoor table to open up. I had a lobster grilled cheese which was delicious and enjoyed beautiful views. The staff is hardworking and extremely kind.
Had the lobster roll (6oz), grilled fish tacos, coconut shrimp, and the toffee bread pudding with ice cream. Everything was excellent, including the service. The lobster roll (in my opinion) was better than Lobster Landing, adjacent from Shank’s. The lobster was tender and was not drenched in butter. For the butter lovers, they give you additional butter on the side. The fish in the tacos (you get 2 tacos) was tender and the mango sauce was delicious. Their homemade chips were good too! The coconut shrimp was tender and flavorful. The cucumber wasabi dip was good, could have used a bit more wasabi. The toffee bread pudding w/vanilla ice cream was awesome! Both the person at the counter who took our order and the people watching over customers in the dinning areas were very pleasant and helpful; greatly welcomed especially during these times. The dining areas are nice and overlook the water; one upper and one lower (under a tent). Highly recommend Shank’s.
