Wong's, please don't ever change a thing! Not the food, the decor, or the location.
There's something special about this place and for many years I have gone far out of my way to visit. It's nearly impossible to find this kind of place any more! They still decorate with Chinese dragons, still serve the entrees in raised, lidded stainless dishes, and everything still tastes like the Chinese-American food from my childhood.
They're not a gourmet or fusion restaurant, so don't compare them to that other stuff. They do what they do deliciously, just like they have for years.
We love wongs! My husband always orders a popo tray for 2, we love Chinese cheese sticks, hot and sour soup, and the egg rolls are the #1. Haven't had a bad experience with food or staff in all our years living in Clinton.
Wong's is the best Chinese food you can get, especially in western Oklahoma. For lunch they offer a great buffet. Dinner is ordered from an extensive menu. We like to order the po po tray or a #2 for 3-4 people. That way you get a little bit of a few different items instead of one plate of something for each person.
Great Chinese! Worth the stop!. We went to Wong's based on the reviews here. My husband loves Chinese; it's not my favorite. The food here was fantastic though. We tried many of the dishes and they were all exceptional. (Didn't try the buffet based on reviews but were glad we ordered off the menu!) The service was great too. We have 7 kids, so eating out is a bit of a circus, but our server was more than patient and did a great job. We may have to make the 2 hour drive just to eat here again!
Always fresh food, great flavor!
Chinese food!. Lets just say the Crab wontons are amazing!! It's the only reason I go there! ;) Service isn't bad either.
This place has been consistently great food since I was in high school in the early 90's! The chicken chow mein, pepper steak and sweet & sour chicken is so tasty and fresh! I hope this place stays open forever!
If lovin' this is Wong...I don't wanna be right. I was impressed by the high rating and good reviews for Wong's so I had to give it a try. It's a nice little spot with a couple of dining rooms, modestly decorated. There was a good crowd for dinner. The service was friendly. I had the hot and sour soup which was quite good. I also had the Steak and Scallops Shanghai style which was outstanding. Tender pieces of steak and perfectly cooked scallops with plenty of broccoli, baby corn, water chestnuts and snow peas. But most impressive was the seasoning and spice. This would be categorized as a "hot and spicy" dish in most places and it was perfect in both the heat and the ability to taste the chili pepper. I made a point of telling Mrs. Wong how much I enjoyed it and how authentic it was. I learned that she has had this place for 40 years in Clinton, so it's a true institution!
Also, I would like to clear up that virtually everything on the menu is under $10 except for about 3-4 dishes that use steak or seafood, so this place is not trying to be "PF Chang's" as someone commented. Wong's is excellent, give it a try!
Pretty good.... Good food, everything is always fresh and cooked well. The crab rangoon is to die for. However, this place is in serious need of an upgrade in atmosphere and menu! It only has a lunch buffet which I have never been to but it looks pretty small. I am so disappointed with the options you have to choose from on the menu..there's a nice selection but you can't really substitute items so they all come as a huge entree and you can pick only one. I wish they would expand to a nicer location with a nice big buffet!
Pretty good place. It's the best Chinese in the area. The service is good but sometimes they are pretty slow about getting the food out. I believe the prices are pretty high for what you get. It's the pot stickers that keep me coming back.
Will Drive. If you're in Western Oklahoma, Wong's is the Chinese powerhouse. I do not live in Clinton, but I'm always willing to drive there if Chinese is the dinner of choice. The venue is a little crowded and has little room around the buffet (I would recommend eating off the menu as the buffet is nothing out of the ordinary). The wait staff is always really nice. The menu is endless.
Fantastic!. My husband is a huge fan of Wongs. He would eat there twice a week if we could. The SS Chicken is delicious, as well as the orange chicken and sesame chicken. I recently switched to eating vegetarian and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have Tofu, and a wide variety of vegetarian options (my favorite so far being the vegetable lo mein). Yum! The folks that own it are super nice, they even know our order when we call in! Highly recommend!
Best lemon chicken. I've never eaten of of the buffet, an it can get very crowded because the dining area sits right around the buffet area, but let me tell you that I will drive out of my way, over an hour and a half to eat their lemon chicken. It is tempura fried, and covered in the lightest citrusy sauce. I can smell it now, just thinking about it. The people that run the place are very friendly. The only downfall is that the clientele can get very loud and annoying.
ME Love it WONG Time. This place is as good as any in Dallas or OKC.
Best Chinese in Western Oklahoma. It would be easy to pass up Wongs Restaurant but it would be wrong to do so. Set in a nondescript building next to a decaying, out of business motel and off the beaten path in Clinton, Oklahoma Wongs does Chinese food simply well. The menu is standard Cantonese/Szechuan fare but what they serve is quality and tastes great. I love their egg rolls, garlic frittered chicken which is crispy and not greasy and they have some of the best potstickers and hoisin sauce I have ever had. Their lunch buffet may have fewer offerings than other asian restaurants in the area but again, what they do offer is far superior than the competition. The locals in Clinton and Weatheford know that this is the place to go.
Insanely delicious food. Mongolian Beef, Broccoli Beef, and Sweet and Sour Chicken are my favorites.
was glad to see a nice chinese restaurant in this area during our long trip to W coast. was fairly busy on a Sat night, friendly folks, service a little slow but that was ok. we liked the spice level
I've ate here since I was 13 years old. I drive a 2 hour round trip to eat here. It's my favorite place in the USA. Their egg rolls and duck sauce is the best I've ever had. I'm 51 and still keep coming back.
I could easily give Wong's restaurant a five-star review and just leave it at that but they need to reopen for inside dining even if they don't reopen their buffet. Still have the takeout option but to comply with covid-19 restrictions limit their capacity and take reservations.
Their food and service remains excellent even though you can't dine in. At 3pm call in your order then go pick it up. They are very prompt and friendly with great food‼️🥠I love Wongs ‼️
