Whip Tavern - Coatesville - Photo album

New Year, new journeys to find extraordinary eats! OK, so, discovered this place all thanks to watching Guy Fieri last night on TV where he was visiting an English pub in DE and reading what one reviewer wrote that she was heading back to the BEST PUB, the Whip Tavern, in Coatesville, PA. Beautiful
Would have been 5 stars.... honestly it should be 4.8.... but my onion soup was tasteless. Everything else was perfect! Mushroom soup, amazing. Duck, hearty and perfect. Steak, the compound butter was pure money, and the desserts blew us away.
First ate here 2 years ago while visiting from Oregon & really enjoyed my experience. Went back tonight and the Whip exceeded my memories and expectations. I thought my meal two years ago was good, but tonight was exceptional. Our order: • Welsh rarebit • Scotch Egg • Sheppard’s pie • Banger’s & ma

I’ve been waiting to go to The Whip for a few years and it did not disappoint. You could drop this place in The Cotswalds and it would be a success. The menu was impressive and I was tempted but I came for the fish and chips with mushy peas. The best in the states!! Can’t wait to return and try the

Wonderful experience at the corner of the bar enjoying fish n chips and a couple of “old speckled hens”. Fantastic service, cheery crowd and a delightful time. Love it!
We brought our Cousins from Sheffield, UK to have lunch after Longwood Gardens. They have been to the US many times. My Cousin said his Old Speckled Hen was the best beer he's ever had in our country! Food was good as always.
