Alex who took our order was friendly and efficient did a great job making sure we had all the proper accompaniment to our awesome fried chicken. Thank you so much for taking care of us. ALEX was awesome!!!
By far, this is the best chicken I've had in a long time. The young staff are great at what they do, and the place just feels familiar. Not many places like Specks are left, so cherish it.
Take a step back in time with authentic decor and a clean environment, and relax while enjoying some seriously good food and friendly service.
Famous for their chicken, but don’t overlook the cheesesteak. Speck’s is a treasure.
The chicken was alright, big pieces, could be seasoned more. Fries okay..
mac and cheese - don’t do it!
But i would recommend for something quick over Royal farms but you can find better chicken for sure.
I drive 20 miles from Philly to try the Broaster chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s worth the road trip. The chicken is super flavorful and tender. Note it is fried chicken, albeit in a special way. So it’s a little greasier than broasted chicken which is broiled / roasted.
And I suspect Speak
This place is like going back in time. Great broasted chicken and cheesesteaks!
I love specks, I used to go there a lot in the early '80s until the mid 1990s. It is the best chicken and coleslaw french fries place around. I no longer live near there but when I do stop in the area I do get a piece of that chicken and coleslaw.
