Stopped in for lunch. I had a taste for some seafood. Ordered some fried jumbo shrimp(they were massive) and some grilled oysters. I desired to have the oyster appetizer before my entree but it didn't go that way. All the food was excellent. Starting with the soup I'd the day which was some hearty red beans and rice with what appeared to be some andolle sausage. Food was pricy but worth it.

I love this grill joint in Memphis. The bread rolls were fresh out of the oven and tested like what I imagine perfection would test like. The food and vibe was amazing. The server took care of us and we were impressed by the service. Loved the place.

Second time eating here Bryan and I. I had the pistachio encrusted sea bass with broccoli and brussel sprouts. Bryan had garlic encrusted prime rib with mashed potatoes and salad. The food was off the charts. Couldnt have been better. Our waiter was outstanding. His recommendations on dinner today and last time was right on. We will be back and I recommend this place to everyone.

Great food, excellent service, and excellent menu choices. Today was our first time eating here and we will definitely be back and highly recommend. We had a mixture of gumbo, salads, and seafood and everything was delicious. Drew did an excellent job and was an attentive server. Highly recommend for a date day/night.

Always Very Good!<br/><br/>I have eaten here maybe 50 times and I have never had a bad meal. Try the specials & always order the bone-in filet if available. If you're on a budget try the chicken kabobs or lamb burger - there sides are Always outstanding order the turnip greens or the Italian spinach, you will not be disappointed.<br/>

I cannot believe that the latest review for Jim's is years old! I'm going to fix that right now. <br/><br/>In spite of terrifying reviews (written before Al Gore invented the Internet) I gave this place a shot based on the score. He shoots; he scores! I'll tell you that taking a strip center location and giving it personality is not trivial but Jim's pulled it off. Inside is a cool steak and seafood joint that is date night suitable. <br/><br/>On top of that, the service was excellent (thanks Jason!), the prices high but not unexpectedly so, the salad very good and the halibut superb. It's not the grandest wine list on the planet, but reasonable choices at reasonable mark up. If you're looking for a Screaming Eagle you would not have come here in the first place!<br/><br/>Overall, I give it a score that for me means I'd make a return trip for a nice dinner out. Haters stop hating.

My wife and I love this place. We have two small kids an they are always very accommodating. We always get the stuffed shrimp and filet, it never disappoints. They do get very busy during prime hours, but why would you want to go to a restaurant that's not busy?

Excellent dining experience. Made a point to have dinner at Jim's Place Grill. the atmosphere was energetic. and the meal, let me tell you about the meal. started with an appetizer of soufilma-outstanding, grilled oysters as good as it comes, I had the charcoal shrimp, tender & flavorful, my guest had the beef filet-perfect ! homemade key lime pie with a nice selection of after-dinner drinks. we really enjoyed our dinner at the Grill.......................

Went here on a Saturday night. I recommend making reservations. We didn't have any but it seemed like most people did; they got us seated pretty quickly though. We both had a steak (sirloin & filet) and asparagus for our main entree. It was cooked perfectly. We had the cheesecake for dessert and it was decadent. Will definitely eat here again!!!

I agree with the last reviewer, disappointing sums it up. We ate there last night and the service was poor. I chose the special, butterflied pork chops. They and the green beans were over cooked. Since we dined early it was like they reheated leftovers from the previous. When I said something to the waitress they did bring me another serving which was much better although slightly undercooked but I gave up by then. I don't think we'll be back unless we hear there are significant changes.

Very disappointing. After years of hearing good things, yesterday four of us lunched at this place. Arrived 11:30 and waited an hour to be served. I ordered the lamb burger because it was described as having eggplant on it. The sandwich was incredibly bland and had no eggplant on it. When I inquired the waitress seemed confused about what eggplant even is. Weird. She offered to bring me something else but I didn't have another hour to spare. No complaints to the young waitress. This seemed to be kitchen related. Sadly, I will not put this place in the book of everything good. Passable but no tomato!

Good lunch place. I really enjoyed this place for lunch! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating! I ordered the Phyllo Puff for our appetizer. They were baked perfectly and were very flavorful. I ordered a combination of both cheese and spinach. They were both wonderful, but the spinach was a touch better. For the main course I ordered their cheeseburger with, the optional, sauteed onions. AMAZING!! One of the best burgers that I have had in a very long time. Not only was the meat perfectly juicy, but it was topped with just the right amount of pickles, tomatoes, and lettuce with the mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup on the side to dress to your desire. As a side I ordered the fries, and they were delicious as well. I could tell they were "homemade". My only complaint was that it took a while for the burger to come out, but I would wait that long for a burger like that anytime!

VERY disappointed. They offer "Call Ahead Seating" which is supposed to shorten the wait time, but it didn't and we still waited over an hour. FAIL! The service was excellent and our server was very attentive without being a nuisance. PASS!! I had the halibut which is a $26 entree and it came with two sides so I selected the house salad and the vegetable of the day, ratatouille (an Italian blend). The fish was barely edible because it was a cheap, thin piece of frozen halibut (about 3-4 oz.) that was dry and chewy, and while the vegetables tasted good, they were the kind that come frozen in a bag, not prepared fresh. FAIL!! This was NOT a $26 meal, it was the quality of food you might expect at Perkins for $9.99.

Jim's is a place that I like to go for blackened salmon, burgers, and a chocolate martini. The wine list is okay. I'm almost always in the mood to eat here.

Disappointing. Who serves just the rings of Calamari? Our waiter told us they order it without the tentacles because people complained. It was a basket of breaded rubber bands. The sauce was great with an enormous spoon in it, very clunky presentation. We waited an hour on a Tuesday night for a table. Nothing terribly innovative on the menu, very pricey, probably perfect for the boring suburbanite palate. Very loud and cold near the windows on a winter night.

Likes It. Overall a good place. The Ahi tuna salad is great as are the burgers and steaks. The only thing that is not is the gumbo. Service has always been friendly and good.

It was ok, not bad by any means but we felt it was overpriced. Service was great. Drinks were overpriced, limited appetizers, specials sounded wonderful but the prices weren't spoken of and should have been! I had mediteranean grouper and the hubby had the salmon. Decent but not amazing.

Fantastic. This restaurant proved why it has been around for 90 years! It's great to see a family owned restaurant still serving great food and giving great service! The crab cakes and calamari were superb! My wife had the fresh fish of the day and she couldn't stop raving about it.... My filet was probably the best i have had in a long time...Great overall experience!!!

THE LAMB BURGER. If you like Lamb which I do, the Lamb burger is fabulous. My wife has the Ahi Tuna about every time we go and it is really good. <br/>The service and atmosphere is great. On a sports night we love to eat in the bar area.

Initial impression good. To be fair, we showed up after a heavy mid-afternoon lunch at the Rendezvous, so our party of four each took the light route and ordered gumbo and Key Lime pie. Both selections were very good and served in hearty portions. The bar and wait staff were friendly and attentive.

Not like the one in east mem. We ate here on monday night and i was not impressed. the one on the east side of town is good, but this jim's was slow on the service side and my food (Mousaka??) was just average at best. the calamari was good and the bread, but the entrees were nothing to write home about.

Very nice place. A great dinner and nice but casual atmosphere. I had an excellent seared ahi and squash/spinach sides with a nice merlot. Nice staff. Price not cheap, but modest. Pay them a visit.

We love the shrimp po'boy, the phillie cheese steak, the Greek salad, the lamb burger, their tuna, the guality of wine is excellene & good value, the serve staff are great and it is a wonderful family operated and hands on establishment. Their wine dinner in Jan. was outstanding. Please try their hospitality & great food.

I love their crab stuffed grouper! I go their at least 3 times a week, if not more. They have some of the best steaks I've ever bit into! All and all, one of the best restuarants I've ever been to!!
