This was my first time eating here, and I'm already hooked. There is nothing but wonderful things to be said about this place. From the atmosphere to the food, this restaurant I'd fantastic. Our server was as sweet as pie, and the desserts are to die for. They also serve Tomato Aspic, which is a rare delicacy.
Everything we have eaten there has been excellent! I love the chicken and dumplings. The turnip greens are great! If you haven't been there, you are missing out.

I have always loved the Silver Caboose. I have been eating there for many years and the food has always been delicious and the service has always been excellent!!! 😀☀️
I know that this restaurant has been been open for a long time, but believe it or not, I have never tried it. Yesterday,I finally decided to give it a shot and it was out of this word. I thought now this is the perfect restaurant. They have a good variety no latter what your taste is and the portions was good. I had a take out box. Both the fish and Chicken and dumplings were out of this world. I could not eat all my dinnner, but I still had to hae their blackberry cobbler and took it home to go. It was unbelievably good. I cannot wait to go back and take friends or family to try this great place. It was busy, but our waiter made us feel like we were the only ones there. He was very good.
It was only my second visit but I was hooked after the first! Fabulous vegatabkrs! I can’t get past the vegetables to try other things. One day!!! I will be back again and again and again!!! ❤️

Delicious and quick lunch! Excellent catfish and “out of this world” chocolate chess pie! We will definitely be back soon.
Not many can go back to a fav spot of when they were a child 45 years earlier, sit and enjoy an amazing lunch and relive those childhood memories. True it is not the original drugstore where we got ice cream as small children, but the soda fountain is still there! You will not find better home cooking in Collierville. The parking might be a challenge, but is so VERY worth it. The cherry cobbler topped off an amazing veggie plate. Looking forward to the next visit!

I enjoy this restaurant especially if I get to sit in the area with the model train! And the food is yummy!!!
Super friendly wait staff. Food comes out quick, hot, and delicious. Owner is a delight.
The food was delicious. I had the chicken and dumplings. And the blackberry cobbler was wonderful. This was our first visit. We were visiting my son who lives outside of Memphis.
Big shout-out to the Silver Caboose team today! They flawlessly smiled, cared for and served our lively party of 12 as we celebrated a special birthday. They went above and beyond and took pictures, lit candles, brought ice cream and more ice cream - all with a full house of Sunday regulars and other special guests. They let us stay and wrap up well after closing time and the food was OUTSTANDING as always. Thank you all so very much!
Delicious lunch! Worth the short wait!
Food was very tasty
Excellent service
You’ll see me here almost every Friday night!! Awesome Catfish!!
Food was excellent. Had the chicken and dumpling with purple gull peas and greens. Topped it off with some blackberry cobbler with a scoop of ice cream. I need a nap now.
Wonderful place to eat. So envious of those who work near here and eat here regularly. I would be so fat. With all the superb sandwiches and salad, they make an awesome hamburger dressed just the way you want it. My partner had the A Robbie Salad. We shared the Ice Cream Sunday and I’m glad I saved room for it. Exception service by Katheryn.
20 minutes after opening on a Friday the place was already full with 6 parties in front of us. We waited about 15 minutes until being seated. I read the reviews before coming. I get it and agree that the food nothing stellar. Don’t get me wrong. It was good. But nothing “wow” about it. I think the reason to go here is for the experience of the town square. We started by walking around the square and visiting the trains which you can go inside. And the charm of the restaurant just adds to the overall experience which is exactly what we wanted. Servers were friendly. Blue plate specials were good. And the pies/cobbler were what we would have expected from a place like this. My daughter enjoyed the corn dogs and ate half my father’s corn beef sandwich which my dad said was pretty good. The cherry limeade was a bit sour for my daughter but she liked it. Ice tea we made 1/2 sweet and 1/2 unsweetened which fit the palate of my wife. I had the Lucy plate which was pretty good. The corn bread plain is a bit dry but smothered it tasted pretty good. The pot roast, turnip greens and congealed salad made from mandarin oranges and pineapples was pretty good too. Again not stellar. But good and spot on for the ambiance which includes a toy train in the room next door and old town feel. Chocolate chess pie was really good, and blackberry cobbler I ate alone because everyone was full (a solid desert). I thought the prices were pretty decent given the area where I imagine rent is expensive.
Neat little place! Very cozy atmosphere! There is even a model train and whole set up that goes around near the ceiling above everyone!
Food was good and filling, service was fast and friendly.
We showed up at around 10:30AM looking for breakfast, but they do not service breakfast! That aside the lunch we had was great!
All staff was correctly wearing a mask too.
The food is great, I had the pot roast, squash casserole and turnip greens. The service is always super friendly. There is usually a wait, just sign the clipboard when you go in. They are only open for lunch until 2 but they also sell take home food until 4 I think.
A great discovery. Home cooked meals, friendly staff. The problem is deciding what to have. Look for the daily specials as a guide. this is a great spot when we're traveling as it is outside of Memphis in a cozy hometown setting.
OFF THE BEATEN PATH: while venturing around the old downtown section we had seen this location previously and decided to make a trip back to try it out; it was worth the ride back out to the restaurant and the chance to take in a little history while strolling through the town square (it has a historical marker detailing the historical significance of the town square). The restaurant reminds you of the old small town appeal but with the proficiency of today's environment without losing it's charm. The Southern small town charm leaves you with a desire to linger and take in the buildings decorative reminders of the town's beginnings. The staff is engaging and had great feedback on the menu choices and made great recommendations during this visit. As a fish lover, they were able to satisfy my craving for my #1 fave - Catfish! It was nicely breaded and cooked to perfection. The baby butter beans just melted in my mouth and the turnip greens were a delight. A great home style cooked meal.
It was delicious! If its crowded, you only really have to wait like 20 minutes. The downtown area is super cute and a great part of town. It is reasonably priced. I recommend the chicken and dressing with the sweet potato casserole. The cornbread is also very sweet and tasty!
