Review Cafe Piazza - Collierville

Sunshine Lasha
Please do NOT waste your money! My friend and I were recommended Cafe Piazza by a fellow coworker to try on an outing to see the Christmas lights in Collierville town Square. Upon arrival we were told that it would be about a 45 minuet wait and they would call us. About am hour into our wait outside we met a lovely group of 6 people who wanted to know if there was a wait. I told them about our wait and followed them into the restaurant to inquire about ours. They were seated promptly. We waited another 5 minuets when we were seated at a table that had not been occupied our first time in the restaurant. The host was less than polite and didn't smile once our entire visit there. However our waitress was very pleasant. We ordered an appetizer of pimento cheese, entre of lobster ravioli, and the salmon with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The pimento cheese was not editable or at least not to our taste. It had an over whelping taste of rose water, which I found extremely odd. The bread was very stale. My friend stated that her lobster ravioli was good, even though an extremely small portion. I received the salmon and asparagus but the mash potatoes were forgotten at first. The salmon and vegetables were amazing and flavorful, cooked perfectly. The asparagus was still cold and raw, then drowned in oil. Once the mash potatoes arrived I realized that I was better off without them in the beginning, how do you mess up mash potatoes? Apparently they found a way how. I ate the salmon and tomatoes and left the rest on the table. I ended up spending $63 for a meal that was partially not editable. I truly wish I could report differently because the building and environment was quiet nice and set on a beautiful town square. I will not be returning here nor be recommending it to any of my clients.

Amazing food! So fresh, flavorful, and the recipes were so thoughtful in terms of quality! Nothing was processed or skimped on. Truly. Service was friendly and FAST too. But, y’all…..THE FOOD!!! So amazing! The desserts feel like you’re sinning. 😂 This is our new date spot!

Went to David Grisani’s for lunch but they were closed! Yo David update your website and voicemail. Decided to head here as we had our hearts set on Italian Short wait to be seated. Very friendly folks. Great ambiance. Acceptable service for having only one wait staff. But the food. The food. The special for the day (crab artichoke dip) was pretty good. Piazza pizza (served warm, not hot) was ok. Albacore panini was not great (very dry). As for the pasta, it tasted a bit over cooked and soft. Crawfish pasta was a bit tasteless - maybe it needed more sauce or maybe I got COVID. I’m not sure. When I could taste it, it had a slight kick to it. The Chicken Alfredo - cream tasted a bit weird. I can’t place it. But the chicken strips were nice and tender. The single piece bread that came with each pasta was really nice and soft. For the prices charged (more than $80 after tax and tip) though, I’d provably give it a pass, unless you just want nice ambiance and maybe a glass of wine (fyi, from listening to the table next to me order, it sounded like they were out of a lot of the whites). It just didn’t do it do me.

Great food in a cool location, where we sat on the 'porch' was a little loud due to the gossiping wenches 2 tables away

Food was not good. I had fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and have had better frozen meals than this one. The chicken was spongey. The salad was good though.i had the ginger sesame dressing. I wouldn't go back. I was treated to this for a work meeting.

Everything I've tried here has been fantastic, and the service has been great too. My favorite local Italian place in all of the Memphis area!

My mom and I eat here about 1-2 times a month. Gino is hands down one of the best servers. We each split the meatball pizza. Very zesty and the meatballs are juicy with a very good flavor. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake. Very very good! Giving Cafe Piazza 5.0 because there has never been a bad experience and the food and service is always the best.

Definitely NOT Friendly - Food is merely OK. Early dinner on Saturday, arrived around 4:30 pm and left about 5:30 pm, which is definitely not the busiest time of day. The total bill with tip was $57 for an appetizer, two diet sodas, and a pizza. I guess you have to be best friends with the owners to get a "Thank You" or "Have a great night!" or "Come Again!" as you leave. We walked right by the hostess station, with two women standing at the station and they didn't even bother to acknowledge that we had just been in their establishment and spent $57 of our hard earned money. So obviously they don't appreciate our business, and will not be receiving our business again. Two other tables were already seated. We had the crab artichoke appetizer, waitress was kind enough to offer to split the $9 Insalata salad as there is no side salad or house salad available on the menu. We ordered the create your own pizza. They do offer goat cheese on the pizza, which is hard to find in most pizza restaurants, so we were pleased that they offer that option. Pizza was ok but I actually think Pizza Hut pizza is tastier and cheaper. Food was not bad but not great either. For what they charge, it should be more than OK. Our waitress, Maggie, was nice enough and gave very good service with multiple drink refills. We tipped her over 20%. Go somewhere else, where you won't be treated like a leper. Waitress staff is nice but the hostess staff act like they are so much better than you.

Nothing really wrong. Just way over priced for what it is. Come on. $9. Salads and $20 pastas. Good but ordinary.

I don't like to give thumbs down. I will there was a middle ground. I went there on a weekend evening for dinner and just was not impressed. Maybe my expectations were too high. It is not that the food was bad but it was just plain. If I was in a fast food chain, I would have said it was okay but for the price I had paid, it did not feel I got what I paid for.

Just OK. We have suddenly decided we wanted to explore the Italian side of Memphis. We met friends at Cafe Piazza because they seem to always be Channel 5"s winner for whatever. I have to say we were a little dissapointed. We were seated in the front room where it was very loud. Artichoke app. delish, but that's about it. My husband's grilled chicken pasta was something I could make and the menu was mainly pizza...not even basic lazagna. Our dinner guest were still hungry afterwards and headed to the cheesecake place across the square.

Great place!. We have been going here for years and have always had great service and food. Comfortable, friendly, welcoming. Also, probably the best pizza in Shelby County! Also, don't miss the wedge salad. Terrific!

Just had dinner at Cafe Piazza for the first time and it was excellent! The dining rooms are perfectly decorated and have a fun, familiar atmosphere. We had three different pizzas, the artichoke dip and key lime cake. Everything was prepared very well and the service was excellent. Will definitely be back soon.

Awesome food everytime!. My husband and I discovered Cafe Piazza about 3 months ago and have been 3 times. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We'll continue to return!

Not so much. We have lived in Collierville 3 years and we thought Cafe Piazza was more of a fancy Italian restaurant. After seeing a recent review and perusing the menu I decided that we needed to try this place. Unfortunately, we probably won't return. It's not that it's bad, it's just not that good. We tried the garlic breadsticks, the wedge salad and the Piazza Panini. Service was very quick and attentive. The food was just so so. Maybe the pizza??

Yummy!! Fresh and bursting with flavor!! Staff very knowledgable and helpful. Cute welcoming decor. A little pricey but worth it! Bring friends and try as much as possible! Do not, I repeat do not skip dessert!!

Great pizza. Had Bianca 14". Could taste cheese and tomato. Do not believe crust was from brick oven but cracker-like and evenly done. Great service from Gino.

Love the pizza and dessert. Great atmosphere, especially at Christmas time with the view of the square lights.

Totally awesome service, food, atmosphere, and setting. One of the most memorable places I've ever been.

The service and food were excellent in the early afternoon. I ordered a lunch size pizza but they brought me a full size by mistake. The server was great and explained the lunch price would be honored. This italian restaurant is snug in the main street of collierville by the tracks. I highly recommend if you need a good lunch pizza and other italian cuisine, cafe pizza is your spot in collierville.

Awesome Place & Pizza. We had heard about the pizza here, but finally visited last night! Absolutely quaint, litte victorian home in the square of downtown Collierville. Low lighting, feel like you are sitting in someone's living room. The pizza!! My boyfriend had the BLT (w/feta) and I had the spinach florentine. They were both excellent. For dessert, I had the strawberry cake (huge portion and the best I have ever had) and he had the pecan fudge cake. Both great. PS-The wine list was good.....we had a bottle for $27, pretty cheap.
