Review Dyer's Cafe - Collierville

As unique a burger as you will ever get. Dyers has been standing out there in the Memphis so long it’s become a public institution. And the burger has been the mainstay the entire time. While they do have some other offerings like my partners chicken sandwich and catfish, it’s the burger you want for a first time visit. Two sizes available, I got the bigger one that has three patties as pictured with all the traditional toppings. I managed to squeeze in some banana puddin at the end. It really was as good as it looks.

Hamburger was decent. My bun was burnt on the bottom. I actually prefer Freddy's. Nice friendly atmosphere. If I ever go back I'll try the hotdogs. Reasonably priced.

Waited for over 45 minutes for our waitress to bring our food out at 1:00 on a Wednesday. Another server said they were down to one chef which is understandable, but all the other tables seated after us got their food/ate and left before us. My friend and I brought our kids to the square to have a nice lunch out with them - the waitress could not have been more rude or displeased to see children and strollers, despite being well behaved. I have never felt so judged and disappointed in this town in my entire life. To summarizes: $60 for 2 kids meals, 4 lemonades, and 2 burgers, took over an hour to get out food correctly, rude staff, and incorrect bills. Will not be back.

Jennifer was so helpful and quick, she also made some hand stir milk shakes! And the cook, Justin not only whipped up delicious food, he was easy on the eyes. Great food great service and our plates were about $8 a piece after taxes. The shakes were about 5.50 with tax. But it was a great time!

We came into this cozy burger restaurant thinking how cool. I found a table, sat down, and waited. It took a while for a waitress to come over. She brought menus. She didn't take drink orders. Waiting, finally a different waitress came over and took drink and food orders. Meanwhile, three other parties came in and sat at tables near our table. Immediately, waitress brought menus and took their drink orders. I get my burger, that didn't even have the pickles on it, and it's burnt. I've had many char-grilled burgers in my life. This one had more char. I felt crunches in my mouth instead of juicy burger. I opened it up to look at it. It was super thin, dry, overcooked. I was hungry, had somewhere to be at an appointed time 20 minutes away so I didn't have time for a do over. It was either eat it or be hungry for hours. I also took note that people at other 3 tables received their orders quickly. I even noticed one man opened his burger and his burger wasn't burnt. I was thirsty when I came in and drank my coke pretty quickly. Waitress never brought a refill. She walked by and put the check on the table but didn't bring a refill. She didn't return to collect for the check. I went to the bar/register to pay the check. Service was slow and burger was overcooked. The charming appeal of eating in the town square during Christmas season was lost at this eatery. I will say the onion rings were good and my grandson enjoyed his chicken.

The ultimate greasy burger - which may sound gross, but it's a burger they can be greasy. I thought it was great. Also really good french fries and fried pickles.

I was sure this would be a wonderful meal because of how long Dyers has been in business. I have never been more disappointed in a meal…I’ve actually never thrown a meal away but I did this one. Fried pickles burnt, bacon cheese fries over cooked and hard and my burger was so saturated in grease that the lettuce was soaked through and there was a pool of grease in the bottom of my box. The waitress was sweet as can be and did a great job though!!!!

Busy Saturday lunch. Ordered takeout quickly and waited at the soda bar. Servers are super nice and friendly. Short wait for three burgers, fries, pickles, and banana pudding. Everything was perfect. Burgers are some of the best around. Huge serving of fried pickles, enough for 3-4 people to share easily. Onion rings were awesome too. Hungry and in Collierville? This is a must stop and you won't be disappointed.

Me and my family really enjoyed our outing and the Cajun grilled catfish. Melt in your mouth good. Our server Ashley Gilbert, did a very outstanding job serving us. She's very friendly, and more than happy to serve you. Never knew Dyer's sold all you can eat Catfish, and Hot Tamales. Next time you visit Collierville town square; stop by Dyer's Cafe and enjoy a mouth-watering entree of grilled catfish all you can eat.

My husband and I went today. The fries were great, but the beef on my burger tasted a bit off. Not bad, just off. About 3/4 into my burger, I bit into something hard. Really, really hard. After spitting it out, I realized it was part of a plastic tie from a bag of buns. The waitress was very apologetic and comped my burger, but I felt horrible. I always chew my food slowly. I know many people don't. What happened to the rest of that plastic tie? What if someone else ingested it?

We were there on Saturday and there was one waitress for several tables. Took forever to get drinks and we ordered a starter right away and then food a few minutes later. Took 45 mins to get any of our food. They brought the two adult meals first and our kids had to wait longer!! Our "starter" didn't come out till we had eaten most of our main food! Crazy!!! No offer to give us the starter free or anything! Won't be going back again, service was. It good!

Rude employee..very slow service .burger was Luke warm..all of our fries were cold and dangerously salty..banana pudding was good but not the best..when we complained (nicely I may add) the employee blamed us..worst service ever in my life..40 bucks for fast food that was cold and salty..not only will I not be back..I will be featuring this restaurant experience on my blog..

Great southern style service with burgers, onion rings and shakes the way they used to be. Well worth the drive from East Memphis to Collierville Town Square.

Poor service. All you can eat catfish. Well, I only got two. They wanted to bring me some more fish after 45 mins of ordering more, But I said no thanks-charge me for the two. Very disappointing cause the catfish was actually good.

Owner Mark and his crew do it well! I've had the burgers, the catfish, the tamales, the signature salad and just the other day his chicken salad sandwich. Collierville square is a gem and Dyer's is a treasure of Americana diner experience!

Me and my girlfriend went Friday for the catfish. Got there kinda late. Catfish was very good. A shout out to our waitress, who at first had said they were out of tarter sauce, but a few mins later came out with two things they had quickly made up. Much appreciated!

We just went to eat dinner and the waitress was extremely rude when I asked her if my 4 year old could eat just one piece of catfish off of my stepdads all you can eat catfish. She told me "They are very strict about the catfish. You can order the 3 piece catfish and share it with him." I don't eat catfish and I'm not paying 13 bucks for a 4 year old to eat one piece. That's ridiculous! She was also rude when I asked her if I could just buy one piece of catfish for him since she wouldn't let him eat a piece of the all you can eat. She replied " I'll go ask the cook, but again..they are very strict with the catfish." (In an extremely rude tone). I told her that I would be talking with Mark about it and she replied " that's fine, I'll give you his number if you want it." I used to work at Dyer's when they were on 72 and I would never even think about being rude to a customer, no matter how bad my day was going. Also to add, I ordered a burger and the lettuce that was on it was slimy and wilted. I was very unhappy with tonight's visit.

The fish tasted SUPER fresh, it was delivered hot along with those flavorful hand-cut fries. Service surpassed some high roller places I've eaten at lately too...

I love everything I get here but the chili cheese hot dog burger is my personal favorite!

Everything we had was very good! The waitress got our hamburger orders wrong but we enjoyed what we got. The fried pickles and onion rings were amazing!! Can't wait to go back.
