Me and my sister ate there for lunch and it’s our first time there. It’s an upscale restaurant so expect to spend around $50 for 2 (if you order from lunch menu) but we spent more than that because we are hungry! LOL They have Lunch menu (not many choices) but lunch price was pretty good deal (it’s between $14-$20), it came with a soup or salad or crispy fries. Regular menu was more pricey but more choices. We ordered a cup of New England clam chowder, Shrimp & Scallop Ceviche, Maine lobster roll (Lunch menu) and 6oz Filet mignon with add on’s shrimp scampi and sauteed onions & mushrooms (we are hungry!) We didn’t really like the Clam Chowder because it’s too thick but the taste is great. The ceviche taste so refreshing with perfectly citrus flavor (not overly sour). The scallops in ceviche is a baby scallops so don’t expect you will get a regular size scallop when you order it! The lobster roll was not as we expected :( we really put a high hope on it but too bad it’s a little bland but It still tastes good if you are someone who likes food in moderate flavor, it just not us ;) The Filet Mignon was the savior! It cooked perfectly medium! The mashed potato is delicious too. The shrimp scampi was tasty and was perfectly cook! Not forget to mention the sauteed onions and mushrooms is completed our steak on a plate :) YUMMY! But we forget to take a picture of it lol! Overall, i would still recommend this place if you are looking for some seafood and steak! It just us not liking the food but they taste great!

My girlfriend and I made a reservation for our one year anniversary. There was nothing that I could mention that was negative about our visit. Our server was pleasant and moved the dinner at a perfect pace. I work in food and beverage, and her timing, suggestions, description of the menu, and hospitality are superb. Above all, the food was delicious. I am on a wholistic diet, so the salmon with spaghetti squash and shrimp was worth every penny. I couldn't make it at home if I tried. Will be visiting again in the near future.

Incredible! Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in CO. Our server Matthew was super knowledgeable and did a great job giving us recommendations. I had the scallops and my boyfriend had the ribeye. No leftovers and we were just blown away by how good it was. 5 stars all around!

I love Bonny and Read Seafood! The atmosphere is great. I love the female pirate themed decor. Service was excellent. Very friendly, attentive staff. Bonny and Read is my place for raw oysters. Check them out if you're in the Colorado Springs downtown area.

SUMMARY: While not the absolute best seafood you'll find, it's absolutely the best you can get in southern Colorado. Overall Bonny and Read is among the top 5 restaurants in Colorado Springs, and a great special occasion date night. EXCLUSIONS: We still haven't ordered the steaks here yet, and are excited to try them. I'll update this review after we do. GOOD: Very good seafood here, done right. Special mention for the cioppino -- some of the best I've had anywhere. My wife loves the crab legs. We always enjoy the oysters here. (And if you like really, really strong horseraddish, you'll be pleased with what they have on offer.) The seafood tower is good, but not as good a value or as massively over the top as you'll get in a larger city or a coastal town. Cocktails are nice here too, with a nice liquor selection. Dining here feels very adult and civilized. MEH: As with any seafood restaurant, be careful venturing too far from seafood (or steak) offerings in the menu. The "black garlic fries" were a bizarrely terrible execution; basically regular fries with some un-melted cheese, a couple of random pieces of fried garlic, and a forgettable sauce.

I had an interesting dinning experience at this restaurant. First, my server (Matthew) was outstanding. I ordered a salad, clam chowder, ceviche, scallops and crème brûlée. The salad and clam chowder were very good, but ceviche needs a lot of work. The presentation of the ceviche was outstanding, but the flavor and variety of seafood was lacking. The ceviche contained one shrimp and baby scallops. The citrus flavor and seasoning of the ceviche was mission. My scallop dish had very good flavor and the scallops were cooked properly, but the dish was like a spin on shrimp-n-grits. The andouille sausage and other items overpowered the flavor of the scallops, but the dish still had very good flavor. The crème brûlée was excellent and the staff were incredible.

Everything about our experience here was above our expectations. The food was masterfully prepared and every bite was an excellent experience. The oysters were fresh and flavorful. The prime rib steak was juicy and unique with the crab smothered option that my wife kept picking at. We even couldn’t help but finishing the dessert, despite being full. We’ll be back next time we’re in town.

The quality of food here was excellent. First I ordered the Thai shrimp coconut curry and the Fried goat cheese spinach salad with strawberries, topped with salmon, both were very flavorful. For the main course we had Ciopinno with crab legs, scallops, clams, mussels, Alaskan cod, and a very yummy tomato sauce, my boyfriend ordered the Mediterranean Salmon with roasted vegetables. Both dishes were worth the price, we had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. Our waitress was very accommodating and sweet. We came from Kentucky so it’s unlikely that we will be back to this restaurant, but our time here was very pleasing.

We happened in here on a Friday night. I am vegan and my partner eats anything and everything, and the fact that they had a good sounding vegan entree and two salads appealed to me - and of course he was excited to eat at a steak and seafood place. We sat at the bar and received great service there. My entree (soy glazed tofu) was very good except some of the rice was hard/undercooked. My partner loved the crab dip! He also ordered the prime rib which seemed small but was pretty good. The bar menu is really great - some interesting beers on tap, lots of great wines, and an extensive selection of whiskey. We’d come back if we were in town, despite the small (tiny) food issues.

Excellent. Top notch place in the Springs with food, atmosphere, and service that's a step above most places in the city. Our server, Molly, was great. I had the tuna steak and every aspect of it was excellent. It sat on a bed of coconut rice with a layer of grilled vegetables that were full of flavor and just the right amount of seasoning. The tuna on top was great quality and topped with just a touch of a sweet glaze. We finished with the pineapple upside-down cake which was done to perfection. Highly recommended.

This halibut was to die for! It was perfectly cooked. The potatoes were amazing as well. Everyone else in our party (there was 6 of us) loved their food as well. To top it off the dessert was just as good. Oh! The Rockefeller oysters were so good as well!

Had my birthday dinner here & I was not disappointed! My favorite food is seafood but my wife is unfortunately allergic to shellfish, luckily we found this restaurant that has plenty of land & sea options for us both! All of our food was delicious, they have super fun adult drinks, & our waitress was extremely helpful with plenty of recommendations! We will definitely be back.

Best seafood I’ve had in Colorado and I grew up on the coast. The Cioppino is delicious- highly recommend. The coconut shrimp is also excellent- love the presentation! Thank you for a memorable experience. The staff were so friendly and the service prompt. What more can you ask for?
