This place was really friendly clean and the food was great! I would have preferred a little more spice in the Sesame Chicken, but overall it was very good. The food was served hot and fresh. The egg roll was my favorite, mainly because I haven’t had a decent one since moving to the Springs. But not gonna base my whole experience on an egg roll. My husband had the combo lo mein. He wiped the plate clean so it must have been good. We will definitely be making this our go to for Chinese. Just a bonus it’s 5 min from our house AND they deliver!
Awesome food and super quick delivery :)
Never eaten in the actual restaurant but we've ordered take out for delivery several times and have always been happy with the food. Delivery is always quick and the food is always fresh and hot. It's our favorite food to order for home delivery. I highly recommend this place for a nice stay at home delivered meal. They have a great app for ordering that is outstanding as well. Makes ordering fun and easy.
Groovy little spot. Last night was my fourth or fifth time to the cafe after living near it on & off for a decade. There has been a few zoned-out servers and evenings where things aren't that comfortable but last night showed an enthusiastic server and great food. They will allow you to design a dinner somewhat if it isn't listed, as in if you see orange chicken and would like orange tofu instead, you get it. They have vegetarian egg rolls which is a plus as not many Chinese restaurants will bring these to you, their wontons are fresh and not frozen which is a plus in my book for sure. The tea is rich and not skimped on, complimentary. The owners are very nice but I have heard bickering in the back a couple times, which adds some character to dining here! Ha. Our meals last night left no qualms with us minus that I personally had some onion skin in my Mongolian Tofu. Two quartered oranges were placed after our meal as a complimentary dessert / palate cleanser and we were happy until we noticed an 18% gratuity added to our check without our doing and I believe without notice on the door or wall(s). We prefer to tip according to service (which was excellent) and find our own percentage, but this was pretty much the only neg points I could assign to our experience.
Excellent!. Fast service, great Chinese food, pricing is spot on, great website.....you can even order online,I would steer you away from the thai menu though,,,,
AMAZING! The food, the service, the food, the speed, the food... Oh, did I mention the food. This is one of the best restaurants I have been to, not just Chinese. They also serve fantastic Thai dishes and the prices are great. Great to order take out, but better to stop in and meet the lovely owners.
It was surperb! They have a dinner combo plate which includes soup.. Your choice, egg roll, cheese rangoon, choice of rice- steamed, brown or fried, main dish and cookie!! Very generous portions. Everything tasted rich... Even the soup. The broth wasn't watered down. We were even served complemintary hot tea which again wasn't watered down. They have a thriving take out but also a nice little dinning room with a very nice and personablee waitress. It is a must for good Chinese food!!
We were pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the dishes (for the price, mind you). We tend to be wary of trying new Chinese places because we've become sick a few times. We laugh and say we have to wait to see how we feel about three or four hours after eating in order to know if we will ever go back. Well, we will go back here - felt just fine!
The lunch specials are good deals; for about $8 you get an entree, soup, wonton, and egg roll. You also get to choose from white or fried rice. The fried rice isn't anything special, just a little oil and egg, but good nonetheless. The portions were also large. We tried a beef, a pork, a chicken, and a shrimp dish, and all were good. I was least impressed by the pork dish because the meat was a little dry and spongy. They offer free delivery within 5 miles too, which is nice.
If you need to feed a lot of people or are looking for some decent, reasonably-priced Chinese food, I'd recommend this place.
Very quick delivery, delicious food. Kung Pao Chicken was BOMB 💣 and hot n sour soup was savory.
Edit: Place changed hands, food is much nicer, staff is really nice. China Combo is the new name of the restaurant, and its really cheap good food. They even throw in a free canned drink.
I've been here a few times, used to go pretty frequently. However, this last time I went I probably had the single worst dining experience I've ever had. Starting off when we came in, the main employee there was clearly not having a good day and was venting to us about not having enough delivery drivers, so we asked if we should come back when it was less busy. The man insisted we dine in. We were the only ones dining in, but the tension was so high between us and the restaurant staff that me and my girlfriend were afraid to speak for the entirety of our meal. Our server (i'm assuming the only one) was venting to us about how bad his job was that night and we were afraid to say anything. Order was wrong, but the cherry on top for our night was that our server left the building to deliver food, leaving us in a near empty restaurant with no way to get anything including the bill. I wasn't sure if they forgot about us, but we had to ask for our tab in the front as everyone was in the kitchen. I know that it was stressful for the employees that night but it felt as if the restaurant and our server was taking out everything on us. If you're doing take-out, the food is so-so but nothing special. If you dine in, literally anywhere is better. You might as well go dine in at a random stranger's house instead as that would be better than what we experienced. Not to mention the restaurant itself looks like its falling apart on the inside with storage boxes and random stuff everywhere. Avoid this place!
Giving this place 5 stars as long as you understand what it is: a "scoop" style chinese restaurant like Panda Express -- but cheaper. This same location used to be China Cafe (a sit down dining place) and I think some of the older reviews are still referring to China Cafe. The new China Combo is quick serve... order at the counter and there are a half dozen booths to sit at or take your food home with you.
They have a great $5.99 lunch special: rice or noodles, two entrees (and they were generous with the scoops), egg roll or 2 won tons, and a can of soda. It was more food than I could finish and I'm not a light eater. With tax it came to $6.50.
The lady who served me was nice, let me try a couple bites since I was new. Restaurant was clean. Food tasted very fresh.
If you are looking for a less expensive alternative to Panda Express, you should give this place a try. This is also a quick and easy way to feed your family.
I ordered the single dinner combo of the mango chicken and some beef and broccoli upon getting my food to my surprise the delivery driver was not Asian (should’ve known the food would knock my socks) and was very polite. I opened my food and was immediately stunned at the plating. I dive into my food and was amazed at the flavors and deliciousness of it all. They will definitely be getting more of my business. China Cafe is amazing. 10 out of 5 stars
Very good service. The portions were huge! Very good food. They were almost out of one thing we wanted so when they made some more fresh, they brought a serving to our table. Everything was very good. And you cannot beat the price
After about 5 failed attempts of finding a well priced Chinese restaurant in the northern part of CO springs that is consistently delicious, I finally stumbled upon China Cafe. It is now my new go-to place for delicious Chinese food. I have been here numerous times and I have no complaints! The food is always fast and fresh and the dining in is always great. It is a great hole-in-the-wall Chinese Restaurant and I will be eating here for years to come!
Surprised by this little nook in the cranny, give it a chance! Looks a bit run down inside, but the food was delicious and totally worth it. The egg rolls I'm pretty sure are homemade. Ordered the $9.95 dinner combo and you get your main dish, egg roll, won ton and choice of rice. So good and great price!
Ben eating here for more than 6 years now. I will say 1/10 orders do have an issue. There is a very wonderful Asian lady here, who has a rough demeanor how she speaks, but once you know her you realize she is very sweet but it's just her demeanor doesn't seem that way.
I have always loved this place and whenever I have had an issue, they have resolved it and compensated it with some extra food. I will say this. I have had roommates in the past who are very rude to them. When you are rude to the staff, don't expect them to be any more courteous to you than you were to them, but if you're calm they ate sure to be you're first choice in Chinese food.
Also, try the dumplings they are amazing!
Pleasant dining and it is setup up a little like a buffet but you can do sitdown dining too. Their special combos for $5.99 includes 2 entrees, fried, or steamed rice or lo mein, egg roll or 2 wontons, and free can of soda! All day long! Amazing price and generous servings! Not fine dining, but excellent value and food for the money and fat service!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Went there yesterday afternoon to try a combo and they gave us free food. Very yummy and sweet huge portions. Will be coming back! The food is steaming hot. Eat there or take home. First time there they give you a free soda and drink :)
Their food is great. The staff was friendly. I went with some friends, and we basically had the entire dining area to ourselves except for one other table. Great for a quiet meal unless you bring talkative friends. We will be back
This was my first time to this place. The interior is not fancy with plastic flowers, but comfortable. The people were very friendly. The food was excellent, and the serving size was large! The price is average. I will go again.
