The customer service is amazing! The food was good, but the service was so much better. Very good place to eat at a great price. They do get busy so try and avoid lunch time if your limited on time. Highly recommended!

We just love this place! It's just a hole in the wall type of place. Not very big. Not very upscale looking. But if you want a great meal ... Come here! Grilled meat on skewers, great egg rolls, and my favorite ... Yakisoba (noodles). Can't go wrong with the food!

Take out, order took longer to make than they claimed, even with the extra wait, it was great food and a nice change of flavors from Italian/American home cooking!

This is such a good, comfortable place to dine. The food is delicious -- fresh, tasty and plentiful. Nothing fancy here, just a great place to eat excellent food for a very fair price. First-rate service tops it off. Try them, you won't regret it. I'd give them 5 stars, but I figure I better save one for the Penrose Room.

This Japanese BBQ is the best yaki style restaurant in all of Colorado springs! I'm almost 43 yrs old and I've been to this location at least a hundred times over the course of about 32 years. Family owned and just the best one could expect! BBQ chicken skewers, tempura, panko onion rings, Cole slaw is bomb, Tatsuta, Tori bits, spring roles, and seafood galore! This place is BOMB!

The yakatori chicken skewers dinner is the only thing we ever order because it's so good and filling. Comes with rice and salad and a giant onion ring( the best part) we also always get extra yakatori sauce! Great family owned restaurant!!

Had the yakitori dinner with gyoza. It was delicious. The service was above and beyond. I highly recommend it. I'm sad that they're moving up north, but I will definitely follow them up there.

I can't believe that it took us this long to try this restaurant. I ordered the yakitori + tatsuta (lunch) and a yakiniku (appetizer). The yakiniku stole the show, but everything was wonderful. I even ate all of the rice (which almost never happens, let alone with double rice as I don't like coleslaw). My wife also had yakitori + tatsuta (lunch), but got the gyoza to go with it and enjoyed everything, including the coleslaw (of which she is picky). The staff were very friendly and efficient. A great first (and definitely NOT last) experience.

Fast and friendly service. Inexpensive lunch special that has two sticks of yakitori, rice, soup, salad and an onion ring for $5.95! Tucked away in a strip mall that's a little rough to get into unless you know the area. It's the spot on Academy that splits into a one way. Egg rolls were very good, more meat than your average egg roll. Soup is a tasty broth with little crunchies and green onions on top. Yakitori is what you'd expect... Grilled chicken pieces in a stick with sweet, sticky sauce. This is a good place to get good food on the cheap.

I've been visiting this place for years. The food is what you'd expect from a street vendor, many who read my reviews know that I love street vendors in Asia. Anyways, I hate to say that it's not everyone's cup of tea. The classic yakitori skewers themselves might come off as a little too charred and dry, but that's just one of the unlucky moments you may have. Most of the time it is cooked to perfection with just enough char. The sauce itself is very sweet and salty, a perfect flavor for yakitori. If it is your first time I recommend the following: -Try showing up when they just open to get better seating, it gets packed during lunch time. -Try their lunch special Yakitori because it is an affordable price -Ask for the Yakitori sauce on the side so that you can apply the amount that suits you. They will drench the ever loving hell out of your skewers and rice, some will enjoy it but for me, it makes the rice soggy and I prefer my rice by itself. -Most dishes come with homemade onion rings, if you don't like onion rings please do everyone a favor and ask them to remove it, they are homemade and it is a waste to set them to the side and get thrown out when you are done. -A warning to those with a sensitive stomach, the yakitori sauce is very sweet & very salty. It may or may not go through your body like a bullet train. Its delicious but, as mentioned before, just apply an amount that doesn't overwhelm the protein and rice. -My last tip is, its a Yakitori restaurant so I highly suggest you stick to ordering Yakitori(chicken) or Yakiniku(beef). Anything else might not be what you expect.
