Favorite Local Eatery. Love this place - consistently good food & service and affordable. My friends & I celebrate our birthdays here for lunch and have been doing this for 3 years now! The Grilled Chicken Salad and the Chicken Soup are amazing and their Tejano burritos are huge! They have their own veggie garden plus they will buy from local farmers for fresh organic salsas and such. Our little town is lucky to have this gem!

A friend called me. He was travelling from Charlotte to Asheville. He said that he got hungry & stopped to get Mexican. When he said he was in Columbus, NC, I told him he must be in Cocula. After a bit of silence, he said "You're right! How'd ya know?". Well, it is that good - consistently!

Some of Cocula's reviews are pretty funny ... and extremely petty. One complained they didn't get an extra condiment. Another complained the food was sloppy to eat. I wonder if they complain about Sloppy Joes, also? Let's face it: Mexican food is the same no matter where you go. The only difference is the quality and the quality of service. If you are going to be thrown by such simple issues, it's probably better to avoid eating out altogether. This little Mexican restaurant was actually a pleasant surprise! I would rate it alongside some of the better Mexican restaurants that are in Texas. It's family-owned, and the service is very attentive and personal. It absolutely is worth visiting! If I ever get by this restaurant again, I will go out of my way to stop here once more.

I ordered a shrimp quesadilla, the shrimp inside was cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that it was super messy to eat. The quesadilla tortilla was soggy & covered in the queso cheese and other sauces. I had to use a fork to pick out the shrimp since the tortilla was floppy and wet. The food was made quickly, I got it as carry out. Not sure I would order this again if I did come back.

The food at this place is wonderful. The best Latino food I have ever had in my life, and I've tried a lot of different places. I ordered some kind of chicken that had ham and pineapple on top...it was SO delicious I ordered another to take home for later 😋

This is honestly one of the best, authentic, Latin-food spots in between Asheville and Spartanburg. Extremely happy that this is in my town of Tryon. It has been an excellent reprieve on nights my wife and I don't feel like cooking. I've never been disappointed since I've started going here. While nothing implicitly presents a family-friendly atmosphere, this resturant exudes that familiarity. The staff is smaller but definitely reliable. Please give this place a shot, I regret not going here sooner.

Omg real Mexican food. Road trip to Tennessee just got better. Had the amazing pastor tacos: amazing fresh and with the real deal meat taste, family had assorted tacos and were all delicious. Portions are good and you are help by friendly staff. Perimeters are clean and they have sauce bar with the freshest tastes. Give them a try the food has great fresh and correct seasoning. Amazing finding!

Food is probably more authentic than my American taste. It’s a bit bland to me. But, it’s popular so that tells me I’m probably wrong about the food taste.

Great place and excellent vegetarian options. Awesome, tasty food. I tried vegetariano special 4, with fresh jalapenos inside. Would recommend this for those who can handle spicy food
