This is the first time I've been to this restaurant. My husband has been here once before and suggested it'd be a great place to go for his birthday, so we decided to take the drive from Clarion PA to come have dinner here. I must say, it was worth every mile.
When we got there, the manager was very friendly and had us seated immediately after confirming our reservation. The waiter came and took our drink and appetizer order right away. We got the Pork Belly appetizer, and it came out promptly, as well as our drinks. It was just amazing. The meat melts in your mouth, the cauliflower and beets were just right, and the sauce with it was perfect.
Our drinks came out, the Black Orchid cocktail, which was touted as being one of their best drinks. I can see why. It tasted amazing, has a very nice floral aroma, and wasn't overly alcohol forward. The added flower frozen in ice was a nice touch, and made it very pleasing.
We ordered our dinners, I got the Steak in a Bowl "Rossini Style" with asparagus on the side, and my husband got the Veal Roulade. The steak came out cooked perfectly medium rare, bits of blue cheese with the potatoes in a wonderful sauce, and the foie gras on top was just an amazing touch! I can't wait to go again to try the Veal Roulade for myself, but I'm told it is very good as well, as this is the second time he's had it! The asparagus is something amazing on it's own. It is cooked perfectly and has bits of truffle shaved over it with a wonderful mix of parmigiano-reggiano on top. It might seem a bit expensive at first glance, but really, for the flavor and perfection of how the asparagus is cooked, it's not.
The most amazing part of the whole dinner was desert. The waiter came over and told us that the manager was covering for our desert, since we traveled all the way from PA to come eat here.
My husband ordered the Passion Under Glass, and I ordered the Coffee & Donuts. When desert came out, we were both speechless. I couldn't believe how soft and flavorful the beignets were, and the strawberry sauce was a perfect companion to them! The Espresso Semi Freddo was so smooth and creamy, had a wonderful balance of chocolate to coffee flavor, and felt like it was hand spun. (perhaps it is!) I had a taste of the Passion Under Glass and was stunned by the flavors. I wouldn't even know how to begin to describe how refreshing and light it all tasted.
As we left the restaurant, the manager again wished my husband a happy birthday and safe travels on our way home. We are both very impressed with both the quality and professionalism here, and will definitely be making this a regular for special occasions!
M is one of the best restaurants in Columbus. The food is great, ambiance is chic and the service is exceptional. Must try the Lamb Chops and the Shrimp appetizer. Both were superb.
The coffee and donuts desert was out of the world so was the cookies..
Freshly mad e and really small. But very tasty..
Highly recommended for special occasions.
I don't have the words to describe this place. I've eaten here twice now and have left in awe both times. The service is top notch, our server was extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes and how they were prepared. She had the perfect cocktail and wine recommendations for everyone and our meals. The service alone could have earned M a 5 star from me. This is not hyperbole, I have never eaten better food in my life. Everything from the lamb, to the steak, to the side of Mac and cheese was superb. I can't recommend M more highly. This is my favorite restaurant, period.
A lovely meal in an upscale atmosphere. Service was outstanding. The salmon was prepared perfectly. The strip steak was slightly more than medium, but absolutely delicious. As we celebrated our 21st anniversary, taking in the beautiful view of downtown Columbus, M made the experience a memorable one.
Excellent food, just as expected! Flavors and presentations were spot on. Good service and would recommend to anyone.
Presentation was eye art and everything tasted as great as it looked. Staff was helpful. Will go again. Restaurant is fairly small and intimate, reservations are must. Would love to watch fireworks from their outdoor patio.
This is THE best spot in columbus. They have amazing waitstaff, top class bartenders, and everything they put in front of you - food or drink is high quality. The happy hour here is really good, and they also do prix-fixe events centered around spirit and/or wine with food pairings.
Just went for red white and boom and the view was awe inspiring.
This is my new favorite restaurant in Columbus. It started off with an amazing drink, the Black Orchid martini. It was delicious. It was made with vodka and St Germain. Look at the attached picture. The ice ball had a fresh orchid frozen into it!!! We started out dinner with an appetizer of tomato soup with tiny goat cheese sandwiches. They were awesome. We asked them to split the soup so we could both try. Two servers came to our table with copper kettles and served the soup. What a great touch. I almost decided on something else for the entree, but I’m glad I didn’t. I had the steak in a bowl. It came with a super tiny (but perfect amount) of perfectly cooked fingerling potatoes and a very mild, but tasty sauce/ gravy. The entire meal was excellent. It’s not cheap, so know that going in and I think you’ll be happy you tried it. Highly recommended!
This is a fine food place with quality, food, drinks, and service. Yes indeed it is it cheap. The menu does change at times. They accommodating and can handle allergy needs such as gluten free. We always have a great meal
Great place to eat! It's a little pricy but very well worth it. We went to celebrate out engagement and the staff was very friendly and congratulated us every second they could. It was a great experience and we would definitely like to go back in the future! The food was delicious and so were the drinks!
I have enjoyed the other well-known fine dining restaurants in town, but M is my favorite indulgence. I enjoy at least twice per year for either birthdays, anniversaries or other special occasions. I love the ambience, a few bottles of my fav full-body red along with one of their well-prepared steaks. Service is always attentive and usually warm. When I want to drop $300-400 for dinner with the wife and feel like it was worth it, I come to M. Nice view too (attached).
I had the Wagyu burgers, the beff juicy and tender, but the bun is too dry. The king crab is awesome, eat it together with the little toast. The lamb is a must try, comes perfectly cooked medium, sauce had a taste of wine.
An iconic Cameron Mitchell restaurant that guarantees a wonderful fine dining experience with each visit. They have the best mixologist Chris, she can make the most amazing cocktails. The foie gras is super scrumptious, it just melts in your mouth. Any raw fish will also be equally delicious. Yes it is a little pricey for the smaller plates but it is well worth it!
Best restaurant in downtown Columbus! The scallops and lobster mashed potatoes are so incredible! Chris is the best bartender in town!!! Ask her to make you a drink that goes well with your meal, and you won't be disappointed! Definitely a must stop when you're in downtown Columbus!!
