Nothing but a good experience. Definitely one of the better steak places in Columbus. Others worth mentioning that are comparable: Jeff Ruby's, Hyde Park, Smith & Wollensky.
Now for the top I enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. Well worth the price. Flavor and serving size was there. Their ribs are only $30 for a full rack that comes with two sides. Honestly best deal on the menu if you're on a budget. I've bought then to go multiple times. Steaks are on point 👌🏾. Not much to say. Flavor justifies the price. That was just my experience. I buy expensive meals often because their usually lackluster, but this place actually satisfied me and my partner thoroughly. Check it out.
After years of hearing many great things about the The Top. I decided to go and check them out. When I walked through the door, I felt like I was in an old school movie restaurant setting. The service and staff were phenomenal. Our waitresses did a fine job explaining the menu and the chef specials. The managers came by several times to check on the table. Which I truly appreciated. I ordered the deviled eggs, which were just okay. I ordered the fillet mignon (medium well) which was good. With a side of mixed veggies and mashed potato’s. All which were very good. But to finish the night off the waitress gave me the NY style cheesecake on the house and it was phenomenal.
If you are ever in the area , be sure to check out this historic amazing restaurant!
As always the food was wonderful! Our only minor complaint was my husbands mac n cheese was a little overcooked and dry. I had the truffle mac n cheese and it was amazingly creamy and good. The steak and drinks were prepared to perfection. Thank you for a nice relaxing dinner experience!
The main restaurant ambiance is so moody and dark. We didn’t make a reservation so we sat at the patio bar area which was brighter.
Oysters: good, very cheesy
Wedge salad: so much dressing! And blue cheese. Overall good.
Escargot: another very cheesy dish, the escargot was good
Truffle Mac and cheese: if you are on a diet, this is not for you hahahaha. If you are ready to indulge then this IS the dish for you!
Porterhouse: delicious
Their special of the night was a blue cheese crusted porterhouse. We thought the crust was going to be a thin crunchy layer but warning! It’s a THICK layer of soft blue cheese! Haha.
Scallop potato: perfect soft potato slices, very cheesy!
French onion soup: yummy and not too salty
Caesar salad: if you don’t like a lot of dressing, ask to have it on the side haha
This is always a good restaurant to celebrate at! We went here for Father's Day and the experience was great per usual. Our food was great, and the service good. Also we sat on the patio which is really nice, they have a very modern looking bar. Great place to go if you want to celebrate with steak and or seafood!
This place never disappoints. Always wonderful service. Excellent food, we always get steak. If you haven't had their home fries, they are amazing as well. My dad said they always make him a great martini just how he wants it. I personally really like the throw back Sinatra-esk atmosphere and hope they never change that.
This place is such a gem. Pricepoint and food quality exceeded my expectations. I was there with my sister and we had thee best waiter. He had all the recommendations and seemed very sincere. He obviously loves his job I think he said 16 years. That speaks volumes in the restaurant industry.
For appetizers we had Deviled Eggs and Oysters. Main entree rack of lamb, my sister ordered filet mignon. Everything was great! If you have baked potato, the waiter dresses it table side so you get as much butter and or sour cream your heart desires.
The ambiance was very traditional old school steakhouse with dim light and wood trimmed everything. It was so full of energy with different types of patrons so feel comfortable dressing up or down. Highly recommend if you are even remotely close to Columbus.
Everything was good. I wish I had ordered my steak (full cut filet) rare rather than medium rare. Appetizers were very good, (shrimp cocktail and onion rings) added bearnaise and sauteed mushrooms to our steaks. Sides were really good and creme brulee was the best I've had. Service was great. We'll uber there in the future, limited parking available.
The Top is hands down the best steak house in the city. The food and drinks are exceptional but the service is top tier! I love the patio and outside bar too! There is nothing on the menu that isn’t good. It’s on my list of places that I take friends from out of town!
Ate at the bar, first time here. It won't be the last. Raven and the rest of the bar staff were amazingly attentive to everyone there, including each other, which proved to create an efficient, charming, and warm atmosphere to go with the exquisite, perfectly prepared meal. If you want to be treated like family and fed like royalty, stop in. You won't regret it!
Its name speak for itself because it is Top of the line quality flavor and taste. The food was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I wanted to kiss the chef and slap everyone in there, thats how good the food was. It was worth every penny paid, don't be cheap and not tip the waitress/waiter a decent tip! You will not be disappointed!
A phenomenal date night spot. Food exceeded expectations and our server, Kevin, was above and beyond great. The atmosphere and classic ambience was so comfortable. The energy inside was warm and convivial, complemented by the piano and live vocals that made for an incredibly pleasant evening. Can’t wait for the next visit.
Went here for the first time tonight and we had an extraordinary time. Our waiter was amazing and he was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the restaurant. He helped me pick a drink, my wife the right wine, and helped with my entree. The cowboy steak was excellent, the Creme Brulee was good, and the Crab Cake was to die for!
