One of the best restaurants I have ever visited. The food is universally next-level amazing, the staff is friendly, professional, and attentive, and the atmosphere is comfortable and unpretentious. Can't recommend it highly enough.
We loved everything. The food is fresh and choices are unique. We loved the menu choices. The homemade pasta was the best ever. The soup was fantastic. The taste of each ingredient was easy to discern. The grouper and veal ravioli were amazing. We liked our wine choice as well. Chocolate torte was so decadent. We can't to come back.
Cannot get over this place. Considering previous restaurants that I have given five stars to, La Tavola deserves 6.
Everything was INCREDIBLE from start to finish. To top off the food, the staff was amazing.
The head chef should try out for the show Top Chef!
Lovingly made Italian food, no short cuts taken, no cheap ingredients. Easily one of the best restaurants in Columbus and one that could compete in any legit, big city.
I cannot say enough good things about La Tavola. The food is absolutely amazing, and everyone who works there is super cool. Be sure to make reservations in advance, though, this place books up!
Great meal tonight. Love watching the staff work together like an intricate dance that is flawless. Warm greeting, sincere service and a delicious dinner makes this one of the top places in Columbus. Thank you chef for a genuine local restaurant

This place is the bomb. Amazing food, wonderful owners. So lucky to have this gem in our 'hood.
La Tavola (spell check got the best of me the first time) is like traveling to Italy to eat at your grandma’s home (I imagine....). Any time we have out of town guests, we take them to La Tacoma. Simply the best homemade Italian in Columbus. Can’t wait to celebrate or first wedding anniversary here next month! Already made the reservations!
I was very enthused to go and celebrate the upcoming birthday of my brother's wife with he and my mother and of course the the guest of honor, my brother's wife, but the creme de la creme was having the possibility of visiting with a very old and dear friend Richard Lopez, who is the proprietor and chef and I got my wish and then some. Richard prepared four delicious and unique dishes for each and everyone of us and mine even moreso because I requested that Richard do his will with my plate and was I more than satisfied. The pasta was fresh and tender, yet had the correct firmness to allow you know that the pasta had arrived and was willing to take its responsibility which is to satisfy, and it did. The sauce was lovely and bathed the pasta well and allowed the palate to savor each morsel. The service was professional, but personal and the server went the distance to insure the experience would be memorable and it indeed was and I have nothing but high praise for Richard and his staff and the environment in which we shared.
Wonderful experience sitting at bar that overlooks kitchen! Food was delicious and service was outstanding! Especially the host who got us great seats and served us wine while we waited. We will be back!
The best Italian Restaurant in Columbus from the service to the quality and originality of their menu and presentation!!
My husband and I went to celebrate our 3 "years since I said yes, engaged Anniversary". A wonderful excuse to try a great restaurant. It was charming visually, the host was very friendly and we made reservations so we're seated right away. I would recommend making reservations seating is limited and full the entire night. We enjoyed our appetizer which was a caprese and delicious and our pasta dishes were amazing. We finished with tiramisu and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend visiting and order at least one thing off the chalk board. You can taste everything is done with care and attention to detail. I can't wait to celebrate again at La Tavola.
I had many times Italian restaurants in north end(Italian district)—Boston and loved it. Now I have to admit, this Italian restaurant is even better. Only thing is their menu a bit limited, I hope they can expand their menu to more dishes.
Absolutely amazing!
Simple. Fresh. Delicious
Walk-in diners wound up on patio bc the restaurant was at capacity. Best decision ever - the weather was as incredible as our meal. We enjoyed a good mix of specials and regular menu items
Caprese
Sausage & pepper pasta
Chicken Parm w/gnocchi
Scratch-made experience began with the house bread and just progressed from there in quality of experience - the pasta is made in house and the menu is incredibly thoughtful. These hidden gem is well worth its salt and I cannot wait to return with a larger group to explore more of the menu in one shot!
THE ONLY ITALIAN PLACE I'VE EVER WANTED TO GO BACK TO.
✔️ Delicious seasonal specials
✔️ Fantastic service
✔️ Nice ambiance
✔️ Decent portions
⚠️ Some of their regular menu items are alright. Nothing crazy.
Everything we shared was from the seasonal specials:
Agnolotti (5⭐)
Halibut Fettuccine (4⭐)
Mushroom Pizza (4⭐)
Peach Pizza (4⭐)
Bucatini + Meatballs (3⭐)
Full transparency, I don't like Italian food and generally eat much of it. So I probably don't have the best opinion about it, also I have never been to Italy. That being said, this is the best Italian food I've ever had in my life.
It was my 59 birthday I really wanted fish but none without shrimp so where else ,I Always enjoy good Italian food .. the waiter so much energy and love he was willing to go across the street to the jazz in the park and get me a fish dinner from a vender truck .. the food was so much better and the wait staff was so enjoyable and pleasant . it was a great place to be at the right time .. Best second choice I ever made . thank you guys for everything . The menu changes so going back is a must .
We were looking for a local Italian restaurant and lucked out finding this gem. Service was great, recommendations were spot on and we will be coming back! Layla is a great server as well!
I went to La Tavola with my partner and had an amazing experience. We split an app, two mains, and two desserts, and along with two drinks each and a tip, our bill came just under $200. There’s a little outside seating but it’s on a busy street in front of a parking lot, so unless the weather is absolutely perfect, I’d recommend sitting inside for the full experience.
Our waitress was incredibly wonderful and knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. We got the Buratta starter on her recommendation which was absolutely amazing and maybe my favorite thing that night. The Spring Pea and Prosciutto Gnocci was also amazing, but our other main (a Chicken special, I forget what it was called) was just good, not great. We got the Lemon Tart and Chocolate Torte for dessert, both made by the chefs wife (who also makes all the bread in house: big props to her, all of the bread is amazing). I highly recommend saving room for dessert. We had enough food to bring a little home, but we didn’t come starving either. The focaccia (which was free) was also amazing. While the menu online says it changes daily, from what I can see, that’s mostly just specials. Most of the other things on the menu seemed consistent for at least a couple of weeks.
I’d highly recommend going to La Tavola for a special night out! Great vibes, great food, and excellent drink options. We enjoyed our time there and would definitely come back.
Service was excellent. Food was delicious. You can watch them make food in the kitchen from your dining room seat.
Came here for husbands birthday dinner because he wanted chicken parm and this place filled his dream! A great Italian restaurant with delicious in house/local ingredients. Would definitely come here again. Highly recommend the burrata app, and the focaccia was to die for 😩🤤
We have been going to La Tavola consistently for the past few years. The food is fantastic, which goes without saying. By far the best Italian food in the city. But, most importantly, every time that we go in, we are treated like family. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant any higher.
We normally try a different Italian place every month and this is one of my favorites. The service is always wonderful and the wine is fantastic. The food is freshly prepared and delish. I do feel Italian food is always under seasoned. The crust on the tart was a bit too thick but the custard was great.
