Good Food and Friendly Servers. We walked in to Fitzy's last Sunday about 1 PM. We were greeted by a smile and directed to take any table we chose. He ordered a patty melt with fries, I had the pork tenderloin and home fries. His patty melt looked so good I was tempted to swipe it. Grilled rye, melty cheese, sauteed onions and a juicy burger disappeared pretty fast. My huge pork tenderloin was pounded, breaded, and fried in-house, and really good. The rye bread used on both sandwiches was great. The fries were not fresh cut, but they were high quality and fried to a golden crisp with a fluffy interior so he was happy. My home fries were browned nicely with some crispy bits and not the least bit greasy.
Our server was friendly, kept the drinks filled, checked back often, and served the food faster than we ever expected. Our compliments to the whole staff for a quick, enjoyable lunch.
We'll be returning to try the breakfast fare soon, I'm sure we won't be disappointed.
Cheap, Friendly, Fast. Two weekends ago, I took my out-of-town parents to Fitzy's before they departed for home and we encounted a really great breakfast. The second we walked through the door, we were greeted cheerfully by a server to have a seat anywhere - I enjoy the seat yourself deal.
The server that waited on us was just a cheerful as the one that greeted us when we arrived. Our order was taken quickly and our food was out in under 10 minutes. I couldn't believe how fast the service was - plus, the place was nearly packed when we arrived.
Another point of interest was the fact that even though I ordered a traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, hash, and toast, there was not one speck of grease or oil on my plate when I was finished. Our group of four definitely tasted the (positive) difference.
Fitzy's is cheap, friendly, and fast - I would return in a heartbeat!
Getting corned beef hash at an old hangout with the family. I have never left here hungry.
If diners were people, Fitzy's Old Fashioned Diner would be the bad-ass older brother you look up to: he's a little gruff, he's got posters of girls on his walls, he likes cars, he never goes to bed, and he eats a lot.
If you are anywhere near this place for breakfast, detour and go here. It is in a run down strip of stores, but the food is AWESOME. The place shows it age, but that's part of the charm. The grill is right out front, just like they used to be. I had the Jr. Biscuits and sausage gravy. I wanted the full size, but the waitress talked me out of it, and I'm glad she did. More than enough food. The biscuits are excellent, thick ,fluffy but solid enough to fill you up. The gravy is spot on with flavor and it's all on top of fried sliced potatoes. And they serve coffee in full sized mugs!! You've got to try this place.
Have been wanting to try Fitzy’s for years. finally, we were on that side of town so we decided to give it a try. Don’t let the looks of the place turn you off it looks like down old fashion diner, but the food is amazing. So many things to choose from. I decided to try the Reuben with fresh fruit and my husband chose the biscuits and gravy served on top of hashbrowns and eggs. So often Reubens are greasy messy falling apart. This with not the case with this one. Perfectly cooked not greasy part not too much sauerkraut not too much sauce just perfect. It was served with a substantial serving of fresh fruit, blueberries, honeydew, cantaloupe, and pineapple. I had debated between that and the chili with cornbread but was afraid that it would be too soupy But I prefer thick. I saw somebody else with the chili and it was nice and thick so it would definitely be worth a trip back. My husband enjoyed his meal, but just couldn’t finish it and I only ate half of my sandwich. Looking at the floor, we were just wondering whether it was just very very old or dirty and just hoping and praying that it was just Old and Warren not really that dirty but you be the judge.
Great little old fashioned diner. The food and service were great. Large food portions. Our first time visiting and will definitely be back.
Atmosphere food and service was awesome. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The chef was on top of it, hot fresh. Food came out fast, and everything we asked for. It's all around great experience.
Food was really good! Sad they were out of the Ruben when we arrived, but the cheesesteak was delicious. Highly recommend!
Stopped in about 10 am on a Saturday and the place was busy but not crowded.
The decor could use some sprucing up - it was clean, but seemed like it had been there a while.
I ordered a western omelette and got pancakes instead of toast, I also ordered corned beef hash with pancakes instead of toast. They were accommodating and friendly. It was a short time and they had my order ready to go. They included a good amount of ketchup, syrup, and butter.
The omelette had nice big chunks of ham and veggies, a little more salty than I would make it.
The home fries were delicious and the pancakes awesome. The corned beef hash was good, but I could have used a little more or had some onions and peppers in the mix.
Overall a good spot.
Nice local diner. Friendly staff. Breakfast is good. They have some freshly made desserts.
Don’t trust the low reviews about this place. If you enjoy good food, good atmosphere, and good vibes this place is for you.
A great local diner. Exactly what you expect from an establishment such as this. The pancakes were excellent as was the sausage and bacon. The breakfast sandwich was fine, unsure if I'd get it again. The eggs were cooked perfectly which is always a good sign! Will definitely come back!
Don’t go fancy - go tasty good!
Great staff. You can sit at the diner stools and watch them cook or hang out with friendly locals.
Huge great potions. I had French toast, home fries and sausage. And a Big mug of coffee!
Will go back next time we’re in town.
When you come to a packed diner with run down decor you know you’ve found yourself a gem. Food was cooked PERFECTLY. Definitely recommend this place to anybody who is looking for rib-tickling good breakfast bites.
When you think of old fashion diner this is it. Food was good, staff down to earth
Stopped in today and had a nice salad with homemade chicken tenders and homemade biscuits with honey. So delicious!! Thanks Scott, Korey and James. Keep up the great food and service.
Come in and try the all new Pork Loin and any side. I am trying the homemade onion rings. This sandwich is HUGE!!
Hello everyone, had lunch today at my favorite diner...Fitzy's on Shrock Road. I had the Club sandwich with potato and bacon soup. Then I broke down and had the chocolate dumplings with chocolate ice cream. Oh my was it awesome. Scott makes his own dessert and homemade ice creams.
Ok, Scott just made a spicy chicken sandwich...OMG it was so good! You have got to stop in and try it!!
Can you tell this is my favorite place to eat. I love watching them make the food. Today, I had the biscuits and gravy with a bowl of fruit.
Scott just made some fresh potato bacon and cheddar soup!
Had lunch at Fitzy's today. Great salad, grilled cheese, and Mac and cheese. Thanks, Kristine, James, and Scott, such great staff!!
I just had French Toast with whipped cream and blueberries, scrambled eggs, and their chicken sausage. Yum Yum!!

Back again...trying the Club and Chicken Noodle soup. I ate a section before taking pictures. I couldn't wait!
This place is awesome! New owner Scott has done wonders. And, the food is delicious. I just tried the chocolate cake...OMG!
Had to update my 4 star review from 6 years ago to give Fitzy's 5 stars, the new chef/owner has turned this into the best brunch place in Columbus! The food is outrageously good, I can't wait to bring friends here. My family's omelets and pancakes were excellent. I went with the BLT and it was THE best I have ever had, served alongside THE best onion rings I have ever had! Homemade, with an addictive seasoning. We were fans of the "old" Fitzy's, we are fanatics of the "new" Fitzy's!
Excellent breakfast! Hubby had the all meat omelette and I had a western omelette, both full of flavor, pancakes that were fluffy and lived up to their name, and plenty of bacon, without the price being sky high. If your breakfast is between a chain restaurant, staying home to cook, and Fitzy’s, go to Fitzy’s!!!
This was my first time trying Fitzy's. I got a mushroom Swiss burger with a side salad (instead of fries), and a bowl of their homemade chili. Everything was delicious! The chili had just the right kick to it, that it wasn't making you sweat, but there was noticeable spice to it.
Our waitress was pretty attentive, keeping my drink filled, and was friendly. The atmosphere was fun, with the cook grilling up food out in the open. My friend told our waitress to pick whatever she wanted for his meal. She came back with a chili smothered burger (which my friend said was fantastic), a side of mac and cheese, and two pan cakes. Everything he said was good.
A Westerville classic but new owner and improved menu! Everything is made fresh, special discounts on certain days for solo parents, fun challenges and the owner is pretty handsome ;)
Fantastic diner, very glad we stopped in on a whim. Got to meet the new owner. Lunch Food was Fantastic. Can't wait to come back for breakfast and to try their challenges!
