First time eating here yesterday, been looking for some good authentic Jamaica food 🦋🦋 found my spot. Only thing o didn’t care for was Mac & Cheese! Everything else was seasoned to perfection will be going back best in Columbus GA.

Service is quick and the food is consistently delicious. I'm doing the low carb keto diet and they abridged my request with no problem. I had the jerk chicken with all cabbage no rice. I've had their Mac and cheese rice and other sides and they are good. If you're looking for good authentic Jamaican food this is your spot.

This is the best Jamaican food I’ve had in Colombus! The food was fresh and hot and the portions were worth the price. I ordered the brown stew chicken, Mac and cheese, cabbage, plantain and potato salad with rice and peas. I ordered one plate and ate it all in the car and ORDERED ANOTHER for the roadtrip home. The restaurant it’s self is a very nice vibe. The music creates a nice atmosphere that is infectious and uplifting. The ladies in the kitchen were working hard as fast as possible considering there was a line to the door. These ladies are doing a great job. I’m grateful to eat their food! This is a must eat in Colombus! Thanks y’all.

This was my 1st time visiting this establishment and my husband drove over 10 miles to surprise me with my craving for my favorite Jamaican dish. It's been a few years since I've been searching for a restaurant of my younger days and desiring the awesomeness of some Jamaican oxtails, fried plantains, steamed cabbage, beans and rice! I read the reviews and some were misleading and I ultimately think that some are meant to discourage you from going there because it's from other restaurants. I saw reviews saying that they were rude and I had to stand in line for a while and I was observant. I saw none of that behavior. I was expecting that from the reviews, but I was truly pleased with the service and the quality of customer service. It's hard to see a person's smile behind a mask, but when I was called to the counter to pick up my order...the woman that showed me my food before she bagged it looked into my eyes and her eyes were warm and friendly. She saw the pleased look in my eyes and I left with satisfaction and knew that I would return even if the food didn't meet my expectations!!! It was delicious and exceeded my expectations from memories of my past experiences with Jamaican meals and I will be returning.

Excellent food. Great flavor. The spices are just what I expected. Keep up the great work staffers.

The food isn't the problem this place has the worst customer service. They messed up my order when I called to speak with a manager someone was put on the phone who was clearly not a manager. After playing phone tag to speak with a manager I explained what happened and she had the person listening who took my order. Needless to say they were wrong and all I was told is it was miscommunication. There was no miscommunication the workers were just rude and not wanting to fix a small issue. I usually overlook how rude people can be at this establishment but it went overboard today.

I’m from South Florida (Fort Lauderdale) to be exact. This food is horrible. The rice is soggy from sitting in plastic bags all day. The portion are not worth the price. The food not season well at all. I think because this the only Jamaican spot Columbus have from what I’ve seen so of course u gone say it’s good. They staff is so rude bruh, especially the server omg. I drove all the way to Atlanta and had better. Thank goodness I’m just passing through, cause this ain’t it. Whenever y’all in South Florida go eat at Dutch Pot, Donna’s, Kolden Krust, and Jerk Machine, you want be disappointed.

Sooo.. Anyone Who Doesn't Recommend This Place Is Out Of Their Mind. Spices Is My Favorite Hang Out Spot With Reasonably Priced Food. The Waitresses In Black Are So Cool && Cater To Your Every Need. They Did Such A Great Job Tonight That I Had To Tip Them & Come Write This Review. Spices Has The Most Positive Chill Environment & They Have The Best Music Playing At All Times. Their Mixed Drinks Are AMAZING && Will Have You Coming Back For More. I Recommend The Grilled Fish On The Bun Served With Fries. Get It With Cheese & The Prices Should Be Raised On The Food. . That's How Good It Is. Definitely Will Be Back.

Never again. Bought an $8 plate from the mobile truck on Fort Benning Monday morning and the food was disgusting. The jerk chicken was soggy, it tasted and smelled as if it were cooked in garbage water for description. The rice was mixed with "rice burn" from the bottom of the pot and every bite had the burnt flavor. The plantains were in between ripe and green. Co-workers asked "what's that horrible smell?" I literally threw $8 in the dumpster outside.

My Wife and I just dined in at Spices we were kind of skeptical at first because we were looking over the previous reviews and I must admit that the food was good however it was not the taste we were looking for we were in search of Caribbean food and found soul food.

Disgusting! Don't even think about trying this place. The server was nice but not attentive. The pineapple juice was old and watered down. The rice tastes like it was cooked from a box and had no flavor whatsoever. The grilled shrimp was normal nothing special but not worth it overall for $11 a plate. Let's not mention that the plantains were still not fully ripe before cooked and were not cooked completely. When heading out, I noticed a dead roached on my seat. To say the least, I'm never going back to this place and I would advice anyone to go elsewhere.

Horrible customer service. Make sure not to call in a order because you will be placed on hold for FIFTEEN MINUTES!!!!!!

If I only had one word to describe this sorry excuse for a restaurant it would be...Atrocious. When you first arrive at "Spices" you will see on the outside of the door a sign that says "Casual dress only". So if you wear a suit and tie you're screwed. Once you walk in the door, pay no attention to the uneven ground, it's merely sand that you are walking on. Someone didn't think it through when they decided to have sand covering the entire floor of the restaurant. Hypothetically saying it rains outside...and people actually decide to eat there (unlikely) wouldn't there be a whole bunch of mud just getting tracked around the entire restaurant? I guess they didn't plan on people going there to begin with. I digress...It's understandable that a restaurant has low lighting maybe to set the mood, however, no lighting is not good. I could barely read the menu. Ahh yes, the menu...at least half of the items on the menu don't have prices. This is in order to make sure that they don't over charge or under charge you on certain meat items. Instead of just setting one price for items on the menu they said screw customer convenience and we'll charge you whatever we want to charge you. Terrible service, I was treated like a chore. Food, awful for what you pay for. Very cheaply made food. I'm pretty sure everything was taken fresh out of the freezer before cooked. And finally when the bill comes, I'm looking at it and notice that the water I ordered was on there. They charged me $1.00 for tap water at a sit down restaurant. And on top of it all they have the nerve to charge $7.45 gratuity for the "excellent service" I received. It was only three people, myself, my wife, and our nephew. If you suck a waiting (which she did) you're sure as hell not getting $7.45 for a tip. Gratuity in normal restaurants are put into place for 8 or more people because waiting on 8 or more people can be difficult and want to make sure nobody short changes them. But at "Spices" the waitress can continue to not care about customers and still get paid. Oh yeah, and let's not forget that this restaurant is labeled as a Caribbean restaurant...this is not a Caribbean restaurant. This is a place you can go to pick up cheaply made seafood for an unbelievably high price. One word: Atrocious!

Um....NO. I went to Spice today. I was driving home and finally decided to stop in for a bite.

Let me first say that I really wanted to give this place a good review. If only because its a Caribbean place that I have found in Columbus, GA. I was going to give them a pass because I already knew that I was not going to find the level of Caribbean food that I am use to. Being from the Caribbean and eating real Caribbean food MY WHOLE LIFE (thanks to my Haitian mother), I have very high expectations. I already prepared myself not to expect much from a Caribbean place in Columbus, GA. So I went to spices with low expectations. A am so sad to say that they met those low expectations. And even worse...made me lower my expectations.

I view the menu and saw that they had short selection of typical Caribbean food: Rice and Beans, stewed chicken, curry chicken, jerk chicken, goat, and seafood. I decided to play it safe and order the curry chicken. Now please know that most places make a passable curry chicken. Even if its not the best you can enjoy it and be okay. So I ordered the chicken, rice and beans, and macaroni.

(SN: Caribbean macaroni and cheese is not the same as American styled baked mac and cheese. )

The food came out pretty quickly: Good
The waitress was nice: Good
The food was: Bad.

Like really bad. Bad like it was flavorless. The only reason I would know that I got curry chicken was because I ordered it and because it was in a yellow sauce. But it tasted like nothing. And the rice was artificially dark. (Please know that i know my rice. Haitian are know for their rice. ) And it was too soft (overcooked) But the absolute worst thing was the macaroni and cheese. Even with the rice and chicken I would have been willing to give this place a "Just OK" rating. But the mac and cheese just could not be forgiven. They served me IMITATION KRAFT MACARONI AND CHEESE". I'm talking about the kind you make for little kids on the stove top. AND THAT JUST COULD NOT BE FORGIVEN.

With all of that said...I would be willing to go back and try something else on the menu. But I will probably be a while.
