The Arkansas river sushi roll may be the best thing I've ever tasted! The service is great and the food is fairly priced and phenomenal. I recommend the shrimp pad thai. You can't go wrong with Umami!
This was our second time at UMAMI, and it was excellent. The quality and presentation of the sushi is that of a much more upscale restaurant. The service was excellent, rolls came out at a steady, sometimes overwhelming rate. But we stepped up to the challenge. Highly recommend the yumi yumi roll.. A+++. We ate at the bar... have not tried the hibachi side yet.
Myself, my daughter and son came in to check it out, we had never been. Michael was our server and he was great! Lots of suggestions, but the best was the sushi with mango and strawberries that we had as a dessert instead of an actual dessert. It was phenomenal! We will be back to try other sushi!
I love coming here! Amazing sushi and Japanese beer. The bartenders were nice and knowledgeable. The hibachi is also very good. Better than Fuji’s in my opinion. I’m definitely a regular here and I don’t even live in conway
It was pretty great. The parking lot held enough room for 18 of us to get together and battle the Tyranitar raid in its Pokémon gym. The only thing that could had made it better was outside service for drinks and appetizers. But aside from that was an amazing roomy parking lot.
Awesome menu! From one end of the menu to the other, the flavors are the epitome of fine dining.
The food is as good as any hibachi grill I have ever eaten. The thing that sets it apart from the rest is the quality of the filet mignon served at the hibachi. It is the best I have ever had at a hibachi grill. Very good service. Good atmosphere. Fresh ingredients. Huge portions.
I've always had a good experience when eating here. My whole family loves this place. The food is delicious

Oh my gosh! Fantastic food, drinks, and service! I had the chocolate martini, volcano roll, Vegas roll ( a little spicy for me but still amazing ) and the hibachi calamari with fried rice. Server was Tiana, ask for her! She was so wonderful and respectful! As a fellow server I completely love the way she handled my first experience! Will definitely make a second visit!
Amazing sushi bar!. The rest of the place is good, and the atmosphere is very nice, but the highlight is most definitely the sushi bar! Their sushi is amazing and their sushi chefs are so friendly!
Shane and James you guys rock !. Went to Umami today for lunch met Shane the new Sous Chef, and James. Great guys they are now flying in awesome exotic fish to serve up and the quality is unbeatable. I definitely recommend it.
I think the best part was them showing me the actual fresh fish they used, pretty cool to see what you are eating before it is served and what the different type of species are.
This is the third time I have been to Umami's, and I have not been disappointed with a single bite. The only exception to this was being too full to eat anymore! We have sat at the sushi bar everytime, and tried recommendations from the sushi chefs and we have adventured out on our own from the menu! Everything has been fresh and delicious! It is the best of Conway and Little Rock as far as sushi is concerned.
Best sushi in Conway!!! We have been here 3 times and have never had anything that wasn't great! We live in Sherwood, but would drive to Conway just to come to Umami! Tonight we really enjoyed visiting with Shane and Joey as they made our sushi for us.
Amazing Experience!. Definitely had an amazing time. First time visitor, my family and I had a variety of options for dinner and everyone was beyond satisfied. Sushi is amazingly fresh as well. Prices are a little higher but you'll get your monies worth. Will definitely make another trip there next payday!
Best sushi in town. By far the best sushi in town! It is a little expensive, but that's kind of a no brainer. Anyone that complains about the price really needs a reality check. Fresh sea food is expensive. Every time I do well on a test I treat myself to this place. Service is always quick and friendly. Every now and then I can tell that they are training a new sushi chef because the roll will come out smaller or it will fall apart as I eat it, however, Umami at their worst is still better than other places in town at their best. They have a sushi chef that works at the end of the line on the very left and every time he makes my sushi it is always on point. I highly recommend sitting at the bar and talking to him- very nice guy and he never forgets a face. It's also fun to watch them make the sushi in front of you.

This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. We took our time, ordering 9 different dishes over the course of a few hours. The service was timely and the waitress was attentive, allowing us to order multiple different times. The thing that blew me away though was their attention to detail. It was very clear that this was not your average Japanese restaurant. The chef had put thought into each and every dish we sampled, raising the flavor profile by several notches above the rest. Even the Kobe Burger, which I am so glad we took the chance to order, was mind blowing. If you live anywhere near Conway, the trip would be well worth your time. We will definitely be back.
This was really good, I went with my manager and we got the fire crack shrimp or something and one if the rolls with cream cheese in it which was pretty good. I'd definitely go again, it was really nice inside and much prettier than Fuji steak house.
Very good dinner. The service was great. Very helpfull & quick. The Tropical Island roll was superb. Like dessert and sushi. My new favorite. We will be back.
After having a bad experience at Fuji Steak House my boyfriend and I were very eager to try Umami and were not disappointed. Very wonderful presentation. We had a little bit of everything and it was all delicious! Service was good and recommended popular items to us... Will be back!
Nice decor, great service despite a significant wait for sushi (Saturday night), clean and modern. The food was all fairly excellent, great saucing and spice mixing on the tempura green beans and bang bang shrimp. Slightly disappointed in how the shrimp tempura roll came out given the wait, but the eel and dragon rolls were very good. The next time will try the fried rice or something. The prices were pretty fair for a nice time out. A nice addition to the Japanese food scene in Conway.

The restaurant has nice decor was comfortable. The menu has many selections and the shushi was good and fresh. The dinner I had was asparagus wrapped with steak which was tough with grilled shrimp with rice and a brown sauce that was tasty but could have had more sauce. Wife had a curry dish that she enjoyed. The prices are above going regularly though. Would like to try again. Overall good dining experience

Overrated (more on that later).. Service is good. The décor is nice. The food is tasty. Prices are about right for what you get. We started with Hamachi Jalapeño Sashimi. It’s exactly like one of the signature dishes of Nobu in San Diego, but with a much more tolerable price tag. The Korean BBQ Beef was tasty, though not served in the traditional fashion (in fairness, the logistics of such an execution would be difficult – especially since they offer some hot stone options for other dishes). We also tried the Kushiyaki Dinner (chicken and beef). This dish was also good, but the beef was not chopstick friendly - very large cuts. For what it’s worth, both the Korean dish and the Japanese dish were served with the exact same (signature?) sauce, which I found odd.
Something that caught me off guard was the very loud and lengthy drum processional in celebration of someone’s birthday dinner. Not typical for a restaurant like this.
Don’t get me wrong; I like this place. It’s a great addition to the Conway restaurant scene, but I think some people are so incredibly excited to have something like this in the area they may be over-selling it. I’m not talking about UrbanSpoon specifically; I’m referring to the general talk of the town. It is good, but not exactly on par with comparably-themed restaurants across the U.S.
I’ll give them another try one day and may update this review accordingly. We went fairly early on a Tuesday evening – not exactly prime time.
I love this restaurant. So glad they came to Conway. They have one in Russellville as well and both are excellent. I have been there several times and everything has been wonderful: food, service, atmosphere, and the owner is very nice and personable. I dont agree with MealMom at all. I don't believe they met or saw the owner. The owner and manger are very nice and has amazing customer service. The owner comes by and makes sure everything is okay and explains his food and what he represents. The owner is not annoying by any means but very pleasant. Will be back to eat at this restaurant. Love, love, love!! Best in Conway!
Umami has the best sushi, by far, in Conway. The sashimi is incredibly fresh. The service when I've been there has been impeccable. And the restaurant is bright, clean, and attractive. I'm hooked!
What a great experience! Umami just became my favorite restaurant in Conway. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The service was fast and our server was very friendly and knowledgable. The presentation of the food was like a high end restaurant and it tasted even better. Ingredients were fresh and everything was cooked well. It's so nice to have fresh, high quality food in the area!

I even called the owner back to let him know how pleased we were with every aspect. They are Chef owned and take great pride in making their customers' experience top notch!! Will not go anywhere else in Conway for Sushi or Hibachi again!
Fantastic Fusion Cuisine. The food was fresh and delicious. Best Asian place in town. I had an ahi tuna salad, steak fried noodles, a few rolls of sushi, and the fried cheese cake. The fish was very fresh. The sushi was rolled to perfection- very flavorful. The noodles were also very good. They have a creative menu and a very nice interior decor. Will definitely be back.

Great food, clean, really impressive. We were skeptical when we tried it because we feel like another hibachi place in town has gone downhill lately but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was great - very fresh. Best sushi I have had in Conway. It is very clean and you can tell that they have spent a lot of money in furnishings, water features, etc. Great place for families, couples, etc. The only thing you need to know when you go in is that you have to pick when you walk in whether you want to sit on the hibachi side or the menu side. We are used to being able to sit whereever we want at the other place and still order hibachi. Here, you cannot do that. However, we ordered shrimp fried rice and steak fried rice and it was awesome. Lots of steak and shrimp and huge portions. Enough for two meals easily. Lots of variety on the menu as well. It is definitely an upscale place and probably mine and my daughter's favorite restaurant in Conway now. We have eaten there three times now and every time we order from the menu now - it is that good!
Great Place for Sushi. Been here a few times for sushi. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was great. The service was super friendly and I never ran out of water.

Definitely a restaurant to check out! I tried the fire bang shrimp, hibachi rice, yumi yumi roll and topped it off with some fried cheesecake...all were DELICIOUS! Just to clarify...I didn't eat all of that by myself. :-) The restaurant looks amazing and the food is fantastic!

AMAZING!. My boyfriend and I decided to try out Umami and it was great! The restaurant was neat, clean, and the staff was very polite! The sushi is absolutely delicious, by far the best in town and the best I have ever had. My boyfriend is a very picky eater when it comes to Japanese food, and he loved the food. I would recommend the Arkansas River roll and the Yumi Yumi roll. Both were very good! Also, there is a large sushi selection!
By far the best in town!. As a constant sushi goer i always have to try the new places in town. this place will surprise you! i had the pleasure of sitting at the sushi bar this weekend and i was stunned at the amazing flavors in the sushi. Based of the recommendation of my server which was the "Yumi Yumi" roll and the Hawaiian fried rice. I fell in love! The fried rice was incredible and the sushi was delectable. I will defiantly become a lunch time sushi junkie now!
