The food is great here. The atmosphere is amazing! Friendly staff, and I even loved the margaritas. It's average prices for food drinks are a little higher than normal but nothing unusual when dealing with family oriented places. Everyone should experience there Is a large variety of food to please all tastes.

Very nice place just down from the USS Lexington. Looks small from the outside, but it is very roomy once inside. Live music was nice (but a bit loud, we had to move to a different table just to hear ourselves). Mahi special and Shrimp basket were both excellent. Service was relatively quick and very friendly. Price is reasonable too. There is a reason this is one of the favorites of locals.

The food and service was excellent. The hot wings were so delicious. Their salad is one of the best I ever ate. We also had the loaded potato skins along with the chips and salsa. The food was hot and fresh. Our server was excellent. This was our first visit.

Popped in for a quick lunch after a tour and couldn’t have picked a better place. Exceptional service, good atmosphere and excellent food prepared to order. Every dish had great flavor and sauce blends. All ingredients fresh as well. Price point per person is under $20. Waitress also offered to go cups of water before we left, which was beyond thoughtful for the summer heat. Free parking lot for restaurant patrons available.

This place was great, had great customer service and food came quick. Super friendly server, but the food was just okay, nothing amazing but still good and I would come back for the chill, relaxing, friendly energy but food was definitely priced too high for the quality/taste

You can tell as soon as you walk inside this place that it has been established a while. It has an old rustic feel like it has been weathered by the harshness of the nearby sea. Our server Victoria was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. It's wasn't the best seafood we've ever had but was decently good and reasonably priced. It's worth a visit if you want seafood after a day of visiting the USS Lexington around the corner. Get the Key Lime pie... It was really good!

I've been wanting to go for a while and finally got a chance. We weren't disappointed. I would have liked to meet the Poltergeist, but the food did not disappoint! I got the Diablo Shrimp Pasta dish. I wouldn't call it spicy, but it had good flavors. My husband got the fried fish and onion rings. They were amazing! And the seafood queso was also great

Cute, cozy, little gem on the north side of Corpus Christi, TX with great food, drinks, and live entertainment.
The restaurant was clean and decorated with a beachy pirate theme. The service was EXCELLENT - which was a nice surprise. I didn't expect the service to be good being in a touristy area.
The food was fresh, hot, and tasty! We statered off with the seafood queso. Hubby got a cold beer, and I got a Pina colada that was really good. I highly recommend the queso it was soooo good!!!! I had the seafood platter, and hubby had the shrimp poor boy. Hubby enjoyed his poor boy, and of course, I had a bite, so I could tell you about it. It had lettuce, tomatoes, fried shrimp, and mayo on a sourdough bun. It was so good and fresh. I think I will get that on our next visit. I had the seafood platter, which I didn't finish - it was so much food. It had shrimp, oysters, fish, hush puppies, coleslaw, and fries. Everything was seasoned and fried to perfection- lightly golden crust. The seafood was excellent!
Lisa Sullivan was playing and has the voice of an angel.
I think everyone should have a Blackbeard's on the bay experience. We will have many more meals here.

The decor is a bit all over the place. The food is okay. The seafood queso wasn’t quite all the way melted and didn’t come out until the rest of our dinner came out. Our server was nice and it was her birthday yesterday. She did great! Very friendly. Chips and salsa were given to us and they were great! Burgers were wonderful… like mine medium and it came out that way! (Yea!) coconut Mayo was amazing here… my kids loved their burgers. Onion rings were amazing and big… My husband ordered seafood basket with 3 choices… he said shrimp was okay and fried fish was meh. Overall not bad…

Food was amazing!! For appetizer we got the 5 count jalapeño hush puppies and they came with tasty tartar sauce. Within minutes all 5 were gone and everyone wanted more they were absolutely fantastic! Next time we're going to try the fried pickles.
As for our entrées, We got the 10pc fried butterfly shrimp basket with fries and it was done amazingly. We got the fried chicken sandwich with fries too it was miles better than a popeyes chicken sandwich. Also, on top there was a stamp of a skull which was cool. Then last we got the catfish basket with fries and it was absolutely delicious especially with the fresh lemon juice on top. The fries on all of our plates were freshly fried and hot!
Overall, we would return to try out more on the menu. On and extra note there was live music which added to the ambiance. The service was also fast and our server checked on us often.

The food and service were great! The atmosphere is a little strange for a place called Blackbeard's. Think less pirate and more classic rock with Halloween decorations.
Try the seafood queso burger, I really enjoyed it!

We dined in on a Friday night at around 7 pm. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated. The staff was so friendly and we adored our server Avery. She was so personable, she made us laugh, and consistently checked up on us. The food was delicious, I highly recommend the queso as well as the seafood queso burger. Very pleasant experience!

Great place to eat, nice portions, good food and service is great also. Prices are not bad for what you get. Everything tasted fresh. Highly recommend.

Visiting Corpus Christi and wanted some seafood of course. We found this gem after doing a quick search and it did not disappoint. The food was plentiful and cooked to perfection and reasonably priced which is hard to find in Corpus. The service was super friendly and our waitress Morticia even took time to tell us about the history of the restaurant and that it was considered haunted. That's a plus in my book. The hush puppies were my favorite. They were very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with just enough heat. The pieces of fried fish were so big I could only finish one. I would say the only downside was there wasn't a lot of parking but it's worth looking for a space if you want a great meal.
Ana Verdoza
Nancy, the bartender, was awesome. Her suggestions for food were spot on. We had the Surfside shrimp and then the Diablo pasta & the blackbeards blackened fish baja tacos with the haberno sauce that she put into our bloody and michelada!
Doug DeMuro
This place is a hidden gem (If you know you know)-we always make a stop here. Their prices are getting pretty high, that's the only down side :/
Restaurant always has good music playing and TV on or two. Good vibes all around from the servers and the patrons-
Amanda Smith
Super chill vibe. Bar and karaoke on Friday and Saturdays. Front is dining and in the back is the bar. Super fast and friendly service and amazing drinks. We had the steak and seafood queso had chicken fingers as well and some shrimp 🍤!!
Vicky Sellers
Best server ever!! She was fun, energetic, fantastic!! Food was great. Atmosphere is fun, kid friendly. I hope to go again.

It’s been many years since we visited this bar on North Beach, but our family group of eight (six adults and two kids) decided to try an early dinner here. It’s a dumpy, purple cement block building with very little parking in sight of the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium. We had to wait for parking but finally went inside and asked for a table. The place is full of souvenirs, funny signs, pirate memorabilia, weird lights and very low ceilings. If you are the least bit claustrophobic we recommend you skip this joint.

We were handed menus and seated fairly quickly but that’s where the fast service ended. We waited and waited over 25 minutes for someone to come take our drink orders and flagged down a waitress only to hear our waitress had been “stuck in traffic” and would be available shortly. Good grief really?!? Finally a waitperson took pity on us and asked for our drink and food orders. The menu consists of fried and grilled seafood combos plus burgers, nachos, tacos and a few soups and salads. Plenty of beers, wine and mixed drinks round out the menu. We ordered shrimp Baja tacos, fish tacos, seafood platter, catfish dinner, crab cake dinner, shrimp/fish combo basket and two kids’ shrimp plates with fries and Doritos.

The food was surprisingly fresh and good, the seafood tasty and piping hot. The cole slaw was bland but the French fries were great as were the charro beans and baked potatoes. We were still a bit upset with our bad service but pleased with the food.

The lower rating is for the bad service and the dirty surroundings: all the campy cute decor needs a thorough cleaning and the cichlid fish aquariums behind our table need cleaning too. The fake plush moose head that was hanging over our table was filthy with dust and dirt, we were afraid it might shed into our food below at any minute!

Total for six adult dinners, two kids’ meals, one beer, one soda and ice teas was $164.58 including tip.

Great food and entertainment (live music @7pm) if u can get past the smell in the kitchen. You may ask how do u know what it smells like in the kitchen, well that’s we’re the men’s restroom was. If that doesn’t bother you, then you will love the food!!!

We took a drive to Corpus Christi to see the USS Lexington, as Hubby's Dad served in the Navy on a Naval Ship very similar to the Lexington. After touring the ship, it was time for some grub. Corpus has several options for local fare, and it was a tough decision, but we finally decided on Blackbeards. Very neat place. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, and I would go back, but I would order something different. The Tilapia was not the best, and the rice was ok, BUT the desert was yummy! If a place has great desert, I will always give them a second chance! Actually, I will typically give any place a second chance as long as the service was acceptable, and it was. They have many options to choose from, so I would definitely recommend Blackbeards!
The Gypsy Foodie
Great Spot!. The service here was impeccable, the food was amazing as well. We had the hushpuppies, one of blackheads signature dinner plates,(garlic crab, shrimp and fish) and tacos, they were all great tasting and bigger portions than we expected for the price. The key lime pie and margheritas were good too.
Werk4dreams
Average. This is the first time being here. While the food was average for taste, the service was very bad. Our server was not knowledgeable of the menu options and lacked the momentum to make me want to come back.

HORRIBLE. We were here on vacation again and after touring the Lexington we decided to stop and eat at this restaurant. Since its so close you would think its going to be great food and drinks......RUN DONT WALK as far and as fast as you can AWAY from this establishment. If you frequently go on vacation then you know good food and you definitely know boxed and frozen food. They don't season the food at all. The fried catfish still had uncooked batter on it and so it was soft...very under-cooked. The shrimp basket was from the freezer and over-cooked. There are no combo meals of fish and shrimp like at other seafood restaurants so you have to order separate for more money. Who can mess up coleslaw....this restaurant!!! Tarter sauce is mayo, I guess, because tarter sauce has other ingredients in it so its not plain and smooth. VERY OVER-PRICED AND OVER-RATED wish I had of read the reviews first. Those that think this establishment is sooo great need to travel more than 10 to 20 minutes from that area to enjoy what a decent meal, and I'm being serious when I use that word, of seafood would taste like. A fish meal at Popeyes would be better than spending $40 for a meal this horrible. And to show its not that we are a competitor, we left a tip because we do believe the people that work there are not to blame for everything....what's wrong with this place falls on the owner. WILL NOT EAT HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
Jayme
This place is really bad! The fried fish was straight from a bag...fish stick style breading, the Mahi was over cooked by about 15 min and the "sauce" the recommended so highly was nothing more than a white cream sauce with pico added. We ordered an appetizer with our drink order, it never came. We never could find our waitress when we needed her. We travel all over the country to visit beaches. We know good seafood and this ain't it!! I would highly recommend you go somewhere else to eat.
Brandon 'BGibler' Gibson
Food was bland. Good portions, just didn't taste all that great. Good prices though. Maybe I'll try a burger next time.
Cheekymom
Tasty Food for out-of-towners. Kids chicken tenders were AMAZING!! The chicken fried steak was a tie for second with the double bacon cheeseburger and both were great. The fries...meh, over fried or old grease with a tostada after taste. The fried shrimp was good but not very big. We will probably forgive the fries and return and order veggies next time.
Darol
Not impressed. Not impressed at all. Fair eats, good service, average atmosphere. Not on my places to return list.
Tom
I can't understand the negative reviews on here about blackbeards unless they were written by blackbeards competition. When I lived in corpus I ate all u can eat shrp every Saturday might. I had never had fried shrimp as good as they do before and since them. They know how to prepare fried shrimp. They are always fresh and huge in size. If you love fried shrimp the get ur shrimp fix at blackbeards and ignore these negative reviews. I live in dallas now and miss blackbeards everytime I order fried shrimp

Great crab quesadillas and margs!. Went there on a busy Saturday afternoon after running the Beach to Bay relay. Service was fast, drinks very good. You just need to pick out the right items on the menu. The crab quesadillas were one of them (new menu item). When you get the margaritas, get it with a top shelf tequila like Hornitos Reposado (Jose Cuervo Gold IS NOT a top shelf tequilla!)
Kayln_t
Excellent food and environment!. My fiancé had the shrimp, oysters, and fish (tilapia) combo basket and I had the chicken fried steak. Both were outstanding! They have a huge selection of beer as well as a variety of food types! The waitstaff was very friendly and the overall environment was pirate-filled fun. Overall experience here was phenomenal. This will be our new hot spot for Corpus Christi!
Joey
We will be back! Everything was great!
Annabelle Nicola Legg-Hatley
Ordered a salad, NASTY it had bad greens in it i had to pick out the bad bits because we never saw the waiter to return it and I was in a time crunch. My husband said his fried food tasted like old dirty oil. it gave hom stomach ache! The salt shakers were so grungy you could scrape the dirt off the glass (i had originally thought the glass was frosted).
I shall never refer anyone here DIRTY and BAD FOOD
Deana Binder
Bad service, bad food, over priced drinks. You can get a rum runner at Pier 99 next door that is three times the size, and better, for the same price for the same price as the tiny one here. Not much of an atmosphere either.
Baller4life73
It was a nice place and the food was good. I didn't have no problem with the service. I enjoyed it.
Matt Rose
Food was decent but not great. Oysters were TINY. At a lower pricepoint I could have been happy but just overpriced.
IslandFoodieGal
I was excited to go here after hearing good things. I was underwhelmed. I had the shrimp & oysters. The oysters were tiny and the shrimp overcooked. The staff was okay. If I go again it'll be for drinks and skip the food.
Kelsey
We decided to go hear because we had read some good reviews and had never been before. We had to wait a little bit for a table (not too bad considering it was a Saturday night) but the guy behind the t-shirt counter was very rude so we stepped outside to wait and we were basically standing in the street - not ok with a 2 year old. Once we sat down we ordered jalapeño hush puppies, which were AWESOME, but that is where it started and ended for me. My drink "the grog" was terrible, all three of our meals were terrible. The batter used for the fish, shrimp and chicken had NO flavor whatsoever. And to top it all off, the "live music" was so loud that it really brought the whole place down even more. Then the waiter brought us our ticket and we waited and waited until he finally told us we pay at the front cashier. I would NOT recommend going to this place, BIG disappointment.
Chelsea Johnson
I love this place! I've lived in Corpus my whole life & up until recently didn't realize that the food here is actually good! Menu has a WIDE variety of food thats sure to please everyone in your group. Only downside is the seating/tables. They are crowded together, loud, not a whole lot of privacy. Worth it though for the price, selection AND quality.
Kay Love
Awesome!!!!!!! Great burgers Great pasta Great shrimp…For the most part it was amazing except the rice was hard and crunchy i would highly recomend this place:)
Kyla
Love this place, music was great!!!!
Meltonhouse
Seated immediately on a Sunday about 1:30. Server was pleasant and friendly. Ordered blackened shrimp. Yuck. Little bitty shrimp in tons of cayenne. Restaurant is not kept up, dirty and bathroom are make shift. You can see in the cracks from the dining room. Sorry, tourist trap.
Gav
Great service excellent food. Don't listen to the other reviews this place is great.
Eatimus Prime
I think I've come to the conclusion that the food in Corpus is bad. This place seemed like it used pre-packaged food for its meals. Shrimp tacos were not good. I tried my wife's chicken fried chicken and that was okay. Lame food, nice people though.
Brad
The food and service was excellent, will definitely eat here again.
Michelle Z
Bad food, decent service, cold beer. The fried gator was good. The rest of the food was below average. Don't waste your money on the food.
Jakemia
Poor service... We had the all u can eat shrimp n waited 15 min to get only 4 shrimp at a time.... Will not go bk again.
Rocket
Service was great but the food was ok at best. Shrimp had no flavor fries were cold. Clamari was tough and the alligator was awful.
Tony Stokley
Really good food, and good & quick service! If you are in the area, definitely a place to try out.
Antony Smilee
Laid back atmosphere. Crabcake burger was very good. Service was just ok.
Bbu0115
Food Good; Place needs a good Cleaning. We had the sampler platter which was good but all fried. Blackened Tilapia was good. Shimp Platter was good as well. Margarita was very good. My only problem is the place is dirty. My menu had so much food stuck on it that it turned my stomach. I realize it is near the beach but the chairs were sandy or maybe just dirty. I hope the kitchen isn't as nasty as the restaurant but what are the odds?
Appleraven
Touristy but good. As a kid, I once came here for cheesecake and fell in love.

It's not a place that I visit often, but I'm never disappointed when I go
Dave
Fun Place for Dinner. Food was good but the musician was great. Kept the little one entertained well we ate. Would go again.
David
Nice dinner. Was fine. Service was great, food was okay. Alright place for lunch or dinner. Would give it 3 out of 5 probably.
Allen
Good yet small. Been coming here a few times per year for four years, never had a bad experience. I love the taste of their food, especially their blackened dishes. Fried shrimp is always good. The burger wasn't bad. My only gripe is the portions of fish are small. The blackend catfish only had one filet, and I wanted about three (it was like $13!).
Lauren
Love it!. My boyfriend and I go to Blackbeards at least once a week. He gets the fried shrimp and I get the Mahi Mahi if they have it. The food is always amazing, they have good entertainment, and we have never had a bad waiter. This place is a MUST!
Blake Meyer
Good stuff. The place was kind of a dive but the food was good and we had excellent service.
Beamer
Enjoyed it. I love the atmosphere at Blackbeards. Everytime we've been they've had a live band or someone singing which is quite entertaining. The food is tasty and always served by charming waitstaff.
Agteach
AMAZING!!!. In Corpus for the Texas FFA Convention so decided to try this place. Absolutely amazing...no wait for a party of 12 and it was super busy...waiter was friendly and accomodating for all...he was very efficient as he had more than one large party of people there and a few small ones...GREAT service!!!

Good atmosphere...live music was a little loud but good! Food was excellent...largest popcorn shrimp I'd ever seen...delicious food and friendly staff...ALWAYS have my vote!
Bill W
Ugggggggggg!. When we first moved here we tried Blackbeard's like many tourists--- near the Lex.and other sites. I say Don't GO!!!! Rude waiter, wrong order delivered to my table, took forever to get right order and then it tasted terrible and was cold! Manager was NO help and i payed and left no tip. I will never go back!!!
Steve ONeal
Enjoyed it!!! Exactly what you would expect from this type of restaurant...the shrimp po boy was great as were the baskets...the food was fresh and hot...the restrooms were not that clean, but I did not go there to use the bathroom...great place to stop for lunch!!!
Filmmadman
Not bad, a few standouts.... First off, It is NOT on the beach. There is no scenic view of anything so don't be misled that you will have a bay/ocean view. It IS near the U.S.S. Lexington which is cool. The place was packed.

We ordered the Hot and Dirty Peel and eat shrimp (amazing) and the Sampler Appetizer (some good, some bad). The fried mushrooms and Shrimp Stuffed Jalapeno were really tasty. The fried shrimp was good too even though I don't eat fried foods anymore. The Peel and Eat boiled shrimp was AVERAGE (not fresh) and the chicken wings kinda sucked.

My biggest complaint is the bathroom. The womens bathroom was a joke according to my GF. You barely had room to put your hands underneath the faucet. The mens room is in the KITCHEN (hello Food Inspector!) I nearly wiped out getting to it from slipping on a greasy floor (which was being masked by a piece of cardboard)..

The waitress was nice and the food came out quickly. Not sure if I would recommend anything except the Hot and Dirty shrimp. Everything else we experienced wasn't worth the stop.
Jeffrey
This place rocks, pun intended. The hot n dirty peel and eat were tasty and the fried shrimp were cooked to perfection. The staff is a bunch of cuties too. Definitely going to make this a must every Corpus visit I get.
Ed
Great lunch stop on the beach. Try the fried mushrooms - awesome. stopped by for lunch and service was quick and great! the menu is typical of a beachside place. not too expensive and you'll leave happy
Tammy Milton
I was not impressed. As you walk in the door, you are greeted by the smell of sewer, which happens to be right near the kitchen. The portions were small for big eaters and we were served re-heated baked potatoes. When mentioned to the waitress they were re-heated she just shrugged her shoulders. The food was mostly fried. It was too bad, because others had given them a good review. The sad thing is a chain restaurant would have been better.
Michael
Good Lunch. On the way to visit the Lady Lex, I had the 8 piece shrimp with fries which was fine. Good service and reasonable prices.
