Reviews Rock And Rolls Sushi Lounge

The sushi was good, with some very different/eccentric roles (goat cheese on a sushi roll!?) The spicy miso soup was amazing, most of the rolls were good, but several I felt were light on the fish and heavy on the frills. Not the best, not the worst sushi I have had in CC

I don't know why this establishment has a mediocre rating. Food is always outstanding. I have never had a single problem with dining in or take out. Don't pay attention to the reviews!

Rock and Rolls Sushi has created what may be our favorite dish in Corpus Christi! We crave it, talk about it, and try to figure out when we can go back and have it again. The Wagyu Flank Tacos are incredible! The meat is perfectly charred and topped with goat cheese, cilantro, and a fried quail egg on a mini corn tortilla. The flavor and texture combination is unbeatable and the perfectly creamy yolk of the quail egg makes for a natural sauce that beats any sauce mankind could create as it mixes with the spices and creamy goat cheese.

We’ve had some other pretty incredible dishes at Rock and Rolls Sushi, as well, and will blog those soon enough. For now, if you have not yet experienced the Wagyu Tacos, it should move to the top of your list of must-try dishes!

We also had the Kajiki... pepper encrusted seared marlin... Melt in your mouth texture, super peppery, with a spicy hot sauce on the side. Perfect.

Seared tuna salad. Not what we expected. The tuna is on point, nothing needed there. The cucumber is spiral sliced into only what I can explain as a chain like noodle, fun and creative. 1 tomato quartered. Light sesame oil, soy, and water from the cucumber seem to make up the sauce... The flavors are light, allowing the tuna to shine. One of the must delicate approaches to tuna we've had.

We've also had several of the rolls and have enjoyed each one. Not too much sauce and the flavor and texture combinations are well constructed and thought out.

Clearly those in charge of creating the dishes are relishing the creativity as it totally conveys in each dish we have had.

Definitely a dish to make you drool! Check out our review on drooldish!

Wow
All I can say is wow
How refreshing it is to have a meal that is thought out and new, I travel for work and have covered a fair amount of ground over the years and this was the most enjoyable evening I have had in quite some time.
Amazing food, impeccable service and the sushi it was the best I've had since I was on the west coast, don't miss out on a perfectly executed dinner. Hats off, a rare gem in little ole Flour Bluff.

Nice little restaurant. Bar available. Friendly service. They have a happy hour menu. We had their fried gyoza and edamame with garlic and black truffle salt - both were delicious! We, also, had 3 of their rolls - each of them were spectacular.

Had a great dinner and drinking with some friends. We ordered several appetizers and 6 different sushi rolls. All really good. Place was packed out and service was good.

Chef David Lee gave my Partner and I an exclusive off-menu dining experience to showcase his incredible restaurant. We made reservations, which I highly recommend to anyone as the establishment isn’t large and is very popular in Corpus Christi, especially for those living on Padre Island. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and seated and we ordered cocktails. Chef Lee joined us at the table and kindly spoke with us for a while, then recommended sending various dishes out. We agreed to that, and the culinary journey lasted for the next couple hours with our server presenting great dishes. The various creations are included in the pictures. Chef Lee isn’t always at this spot because he has other establishments he runs, so we were treated to a very exclusive opportunity to try his wonderful creations. I highly recommend Rock & Rolls. Enjoy the photos.

We had a great time at this funky little spot. We were pretty much the only ones there. We started off with the fried soft shell crab. It was incredible, we even ordered two we enjoyed it so much. The rest of the rolls (four in total and I sadly can’t remember all their names except for the Let it Ride, Light my Fire, and the chef’s special). The service for the rolls was really slow sadly. And we got some happy hour drinks that were fine but seemed very very weak on the alcohol. We tried the watermelon martini and cucumber martini. Overall the food was tasty but the slow service despite an empty restaurant, and weak drinks was a disappointment. It also was very hard to find rolls that did not have cream cheese in them which I found very odd.

If you are on the island and want sushi, Rock n Roll is a good choice. Service is great and the food is amazing. Fire in the hole roll is a favorite if you like flavor and spice. We go about twice a month. Go early because it is a popular spot.

I been coming here for a couple of years and this is hands down The Best place in Corpus Christi for sushi. Everything is always fresh. Jenna and Jessi have been outstanding since day one! I live in SA so anytime I’m down in CC I plan to make a stop here 🙂

A must have Sushi place!! If you enjoy sushi then you must come here! The food is amazing as well as the Rock n Roll atmosphere. The environment is a very welcoming home feeling. The restrooms are extremely clean which is a must due to my medical needs. The customer service is top notch and great conversationalist. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable of the types of Sushi and recommendations were perfect for us! There is a long wait for food but it is worth it just be sure not to be in a hurry. Huge recognition to our waitress Cait who's knowledge, friendliness and Sushi suggestions made our experience perfect! She even recommended a Sushi roll that was not on the menu but the mix tasted amazing !! Pros: Perfect Sushi / Tasty Rolls Extremely Clean Environment and Bathrooms Great Customer Service / Very Knowledgeable Welcoming Atmosphere Cons: Parking (Small lot makes it hard to find parking) Final Thoughts: A must have place to eat, would recommend owner to look into expansion as can tell this is becoming a hugely popular place.
