Restaurant offers a really nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly and courteous. I ordered the Napoleon dish with scallops. It was well prepared and tasty unfortunately 2 or 3 scallops tasted a little off. Dessert was awesome!! We shared a slice of carrot….so good. The beverage looked better than it tasted. I would definitely go back and try something else.
First visit to this restaurant, the interior was elegant, pristine. The staff was attentive , especially our waiter (Ray) the food was delicious! loved and enjoyed every bite of my dessert with coffee. Will return to try other dishes. Would recommend to family and friends.
We came here 2 years ago and really liked it, so when we were back in town, we returned for another meal. They were out of the fried eggplant appetizer, which was really disappointing, as it was something I was really looking forward to having again. We had the fried calamari and broccoli instead (the broccoli was very good). The soup that came with the meal was bland, but the meal itself (we had Chilean sea bass and lemongrass chicken) was very good. My partner wasn't impressed with his cocktail (we had gone to BUS next door prior, so maybe the comparison wasn't fair), and I stuck to wine. It's worth a visit, but we probably will try something new next time we're in town.
Delicious food every time I have eaten here. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Staff is engaging and very professional. The food is exquisite. Always a wonderful experience! The filet mignon Pho is amazing as well as the black pepper shrimp (Ramg Muoi).
This restaurant is a true gem in the heart of Corpus Christi. Don’t be fooled by the appearance from the outside of the restaurant. It’s truly beautiful inside, and the outside can be deceiving as well as the surrounding street. Our server was great. My husband had the Chateaubriand, which is the best steak we ever had! It was prepared wonderfully and so good. I had the Scallops with a mushroom cream sauce with mashed potato points. 10/10 overall for the food and entire experience!
Amazing fried broccoli, very light and flavorful. I ordered the Fuji fried rice and it was delicious. Lunch was great. Will be returning!
I finally had the opportunity to try out this delightful yet hidden gem of Downtown Corpus Christi. While hidden by an unassuming façade, Vietnam Restaurant's reputation precedes it as a beacon of fine dining and I've been looking for a chance to give it a try and a particularly generous paycheck provided just such a chance. I dined at the tail-end of lunch and was seated very promptly. My first impression was of the atmosphere in general; it's something that I'm always quite critical of and very, very rarely pleased with. Out of all of the dining establishments I've visited in Corpus Christi I would say that Vietnam's atmosphere is the absolute best. Elegant, relaxing and clean are the first words that come to mind. The décor was lovely and the lighting was wonderfully soft. The classic era jazz playing in the background set me at ease and wasn't played too loudly. The seating was well arranged so that I didn't feel crowded and I was quite comfortable.
My server (Keith) was very professional, attentive without being overbearing and knowledgable about the menu. I'm quite ignorant of Vietnamese cuisine and found myself overwhelmed by the choices but he very patiently helped me to narrow it down while educating me about some of the finer points of the menu. He was able to make recommendations according to my tastes, which I took and was not disappointed with. He was accommodating of special requests I made and my drink was never empty despite how quickly I drank. Service was expedient and Keith made sure that everything was to my liking. His descriptions of various menu items made me curious to return and try them, which I'll certainly do at a later date.
The food itself was quite good; I ordered the Imperial Crispy Rolls and the Spicy Beef Sate. The entrée came with a Chicken and Rice soup. All of the food was well-prepared, at the proper temperature and plated in an aesthetically attractive way. The Crispy rolls were not greasy and were quite flavorful. The Beef Sate had a reasonable amount of high-quality beef, and the sauce was very good. The chicken soup was rather bland but my server had great suggestions on how to make it more palatable, so it was fairly enjoyable. While I wasn't feeling particularly adventurous on this this trip, I look forward to trying several other menu items in the future ... particularly the Chef's Signature Napoleon Beef Tenderloin and the Creme Brûlée.
I have very little to say in the way of critique; the prices seemed fair on the lunch menu. Yes, it's a little more expensive than your typical lunch spot, even with a similar cuisine ... however part of the price that I'm happy to pay is for the exquisite atmosphere and exemplary service, both of which you likely won't experience at your local strip mall restaurant. To me, that's what truly sets Vietnam Restaurant apart. I really look forward to future dining experiences and will most certainly return.
This was my first visit and I look forward to my next one. Great service great food and one of the best stocked bars anywhere.
We arrived on a Wednesday night and were told after waiting for 10 minutes at the entrance that the kitchen was running slow. The food was excellent. However, we spent two hours waiting at the table between drinks from the bar, then appetizers, and finally the entrées and dessert. While the servers were at the table, they were polite and attentive, but the service was very slow, and we had a different waiter throughout the evening. If you make a reservation, check to see if they are going to have any big parties in their banquet rooms the night of your reservation. We will be doing that before we return.
Listen, the ribeye and the chilean sea bass are incredible. The creme brulee and cheesecakes are great as well.
Very good food and the waitress was very helpful. It has a variety of dishes not only Vietnamese food but also some Asian food.
This place is a little gem! I travel to corpus for work and I make it a habit to stop by and have a meal. I let the manage choose my meal and I’m never disappointed.
The food here was delicious! We enjoyed the fried broccoli starter, spring rolls, and my dad had the best calamari he had ever had. The main meals were also delicious.
The atmosphere is lovely, even though it does not look as nice from the outside. The staff was also very nice and helpful.
Highly recommend!
