Food was really good. The sausage was on point and I would recommend this if you’re in the area. I was working for a client here in Corpus Christi and they said this is one of their favorite spots to visit. from what I understand this is a local favorite and it’s kind of a hole in a wall kind of place.
The outer appearance of the place is different from other bbq restaurants I’ve been too. But the food inside is worth it. We tried the poor boy sandwich which has three types of meat and order the potato salad as a side. We got there early to avoid the crowd. Everything freshly cooked and baked potatoes are delicious!
We had not been here recently, but in the area on a tight schedule. My husband had a brisket sandwich with pinto beans. The brisket was good , good bark , not to dry . The beans were ok just no spice. I had a sausage sandwich with potato salad. The sausage was pretty good , it did have a good smoke flavor , the potato salad was ok , I am Texas born and raised and I do make my potato salad with mustard in it ,but this one was to mustard forward , maybe a little bit of mayonnaise to temper. We also had a piece of pecan pie , it was sooo gooey and good , in fact , took a piece home!! I will say I am not a big sauce fan , as I feel good meat should stand alone , but we did try it and it was 100 % improved. Last time it was runny , no spice and waaaaay too much vinegar. Not this time , It was thicker, had a just right kick and not a strong vinegar taste.
Let me tell you, I eat alot of BBQ in alot of different areas, but this place almost fooled us by the outside decor and the area its in. I of course had to get the three meat(Pulled Pork, Ribs, Marbled Brisket) and all three were some of the best I have ever had. Ribs fell apart, BBQ had a great smoky flavor, brisket literally melted in your mouth. Can't say to much about the sides cause they all seemed basic, the meat is definitely the star here. Staff was overwhelming friendly and ready to help, inside seemed clean. Would love to come back if ever in the area again.
It's the best central Texas style BBQ in South Texas. Cooked with post oak. You know it's going to be good when you walk through that door. It's a great place and the people are super friendly. The only reason I give them 4 stars is because of there sides. The sides are terrible.The potato salad is over powered by mustard. The rice is over powered by, i think comino. And the beans are flavorless. Everything else is spot on. I highly recommend them.
BBQ is great! Ribs were fall off the bone. Brisket had great flavor. I liked the beans but not a fan of the green beans, just my preference though. My son loved his sausage with Mac and cheese. Definitely wish I’d have found this place sooner.
The best damn barbecue in the Corpus Christi area hands down. I got the beef ribs "dino rib" and it was perfect. I also got the three meat plate with fatty brisket, pork ribs and jalapeño sausage. Don't waste your time at the other places, do your mouth a favor and go to Julian's BBQ.
Friendly and great service. The pork ribs were amazing! Great size portion on plates. Definitely be back again to try the beef ribs someone else ordered it and it looks as juicy as the pork ribs
Good foodn, the meats where tenderand juicy. I had the 3 meat plate with marbled brisket, jalapeño sausage and pulled pork. It came with 2 sides I chose green beans and rice. I will come back.
First time trying the BBQ here. The food is undeniably great, my only complaint is the small portions compared to price. I expected a little bit more food than what was given compared to other BBQ places I've tried. Overall great experience tho..
This was the best brisket sandwich I have eaten in Corpus Christi. The portion was generous and the meat was juicy and tender. The green beans were great also. Definitely worth trying.
Excellent BBQ. Between my daughter and I we tried the pulled pork sandwich and the three meat P'o Boy. The beef was so tender, the spicy sausage so flavorful and delicious. Oh.. And that lemon meringue pie.. mmm. So happy we picked this place when ese were looking for Texas BBQ. We met Julian himself as we were leaving. We will be back!
My wife and I came to corpus from Rockport for some errands.we tried this bbq place for the first time and the service was pleasant and fast! It’s affordable bbq and very good flavor! We will be back!
Nice place, low key neighborhood bbq joint. I had the ribs which were good but the star was the sausage sandwich….. who knew? Amazing
Julian’s or pretty good, I enjoyed the sausage and brisket, they were very tasty. I also enjoyed their Mac and cheese and beans. My only gripe is that with their poboys, they give you regular bread and with this meal, they also give you regular bread.
Love the brisket and BBQ sauce 😋 me and my husband enjoy coming to eat lunch here! Staff is always kind, helpful, and friendly! 👍
