With an appetite for Italian food cultivated through living it, while working in Bella Napoli for over eight years, I was greatly impressed with the food, staff, and the man behind it all...Vasco Taddei. The menu, and more importantly the execution was top shelf, and a welcome find in Corpus, home of mostly chain restaurants.
Another high point was a spirited tour of the kitchen, and an all Italian food focused conversation with Vasco himself. He clearly prides himself in providing an authentic dining experience through his love for his food that he now shares with those that have found this hidden gem in the Coastal Bend!
The only negative I could offer, was that the bread was not particularly inspired, and seemed out of sync with the high caliber of the menu items.
Regardless, we will be back!
We had an amazing dinner at Trattoria Taddei in Corpus Christi. We started with salad in homemade balsamic vinaigrette simple and tasty. My wife had Zuppa di pesce it was loaded with shrimp, fish, clams, octopus, and mussels in an delicious broth. I had lobster ravioli in pink sauce with a meatball, my plate was fantastic....homemade pasta and sauce it was excellent. After spending a few weeks in Italy, this us easily the most truly authentic italian food we've had since being there a few years ago. The service was very good, and the meal was above our expectations.
Hands down the best meal I've had in Corpus! Warm, home-y atmosphere and wonderful customer service. The gnocchi and ravioli were homemade and amazing, will definitely be coming back!

I'm an Italian from New York and this was the best, most authentic Italian food I've had since coming to Texas! The pasta was fabulous, great service and wonderful atmosphere. My new favorite place to eat. Like eating in Nonna's kitchen. Mangiare!!
The best Italian food I've had! And the people are very kind and accommodating. Want something that's not on the menu? Chances are they'll make it for you! When I go to corpus I always have to come here.
We went for dinner last night and to our surprise our server was an old friend per say in that we frequented the previous restaurant he worked at a few times. Let me just say, Mario remembered us all when we walked in the door. Treated us like family and he catered to all the littles at the table and referred to the adults with such hospitality throughout the whole meal. Our food was delicious and everyone loved their choices. We'd have ordered dessert if not for the fact we were all full. THAT is the kind of service that brings back customers. Mind you that's just the way he is and serves all his customers. Which is one reason we went to the previous restaurant before. Now we will be visiting him at his new restaurant.
This was a place that has amazing food and great wait staff. Mario was a great host and everyone needs to try this place. I enjoyed every moment I was here.

It was fantastic! Had the Margherita pizza and some roasted vegetables delicious our waiter Tony (I think that was his name)was so personable.
I went to this fabulous restaurant for my daughter's 22nd birthday. The waitress treated us very very well. Food was humongous! Had the Calzone. It was as big as a dinner plate. Very good food.
This place is a wonderful surprise. I finally felt like home, eating real italian food, after so many years. I loved everything, the pizza made to perfection, gnocchi ai quattro formaggi (the REAL thing...forget mac&cheese, please), and a mouthwatering tiramisù, just as good as the one I make myself. Sorry I didn't post a photo of it, I inhaled it before I could even think about pulling out my cell phone.
I will surely be back next time we visit Corpus Christi.

If you like Traditional Italian food, come here. It was absolutely amazing. The waiter was extremely attentive and sweet. It's a tad expensive but for the portion size and quality, it was worth it. The bread was amazing and the pasta was really good. I recommend this!
The food, service, and decor were all excellent. This would make for an impressive date place restaurant. I took my kids, got in without a reservation (it wasn't busy for a Saturday night), and we spent $35 on two sodas, a glass of excellent wine, and a gorgeous and delicious pizza perfectly cooked in a brick oven that was enough for all three of us. There's a caveat though: if you're not into authentic Italian or fast food is your thing then this isn't your place. My son kept complaining that the pizza didn't taste like Dominoes.
Delicious authentic Italian cuisines. The staff is friendly. The setting places you in an elegant atmosphere to enjoy a variety of hardy dishes with dessert and wine to complement your menu options. You don't have to go far to enjoy Italy's traditional fine dining experience brought to you by Vasco Taddei. I've stopped by and even picked up supper. Very pleased.
Finally a restaurant that puts pride and integrity in their food! I have lived in big cities all my life, I even lived right next to "Little Italy" in Montreal, which is by a famous farmer's market. I have high standards for Italian food and this restaurant exceeded them! I have no idea how they do it, I can't find the decent ingredients in the grocery stores to pull off what they make. Everything I have ordered was shockingly excellent!

One of the best restaurants in corpus. I had the seafood special tagliono and my husband had the pesto gnocchi. Both dishes were outstanding, and the wait staff were so attentive and friendly. We will definitely be making this restaurant a regular dinner spot.
I ordered the Fettuccine al Pesto and it was delicious! The large homemade fettuccine was about twice the width of store bought fettuccine so that in itself was a treat. The pesto they used was clearly homemade because all the food was coated in very bright green minced basil leaves and made the sauce green too. My mouth started to water when I saw all that green. The bite sized chicken was wonderfully tender which doesn't happen often as it's easy to overcook chicken.The plate was out of this world yum! Good job!

Truly a delicious, well-made meal. Me and my friend had such a wonderful dinner, from the focaccia dipping oil to the cannoli dessert, they didn't miss a beat. The special was green pasta with shrimp in a pink sauce. We washed all this yumminess down with a fine chianti. Aside from the really great food, I have to say our waitress was delightful and witty. I enjoyed being her customer.
We had an excellent dinner there, it was the first time we have gone but it won't be the last, Austin was our waiter, he was very sweet to put up with us and our silliness, my husband had the vegetable soup ( which I didn't get a bite) he had the veal picotta, I had the crab Alfredo very good, and our friend had the fettuccine Alfredo, she loved hers also, the owner was very sweet to try and find a wine I would like but I'm not much of a drinker anymore, that personal touch at a restaurant is almost non existent in Corpus. We loved it

I saw this restaurant on the web from an article that the news had posted. This is as fantastic restaurant. Everything is made fresh. I had the Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. The noodles are delicious and we're made from scratch. I highly recommend this place. Prices are pretty good for homemade food.
