AWESOME HAPPY HOUR!!! Great spot for awesome sushi during the week, loved the food and prices. Would come here weekly if I lived in Corpus. Great service, never waited on anything
Do you ever think waitstaff gets tired of running their butts off for you to not tip them.....if you're too broke to tip, don't go out and eat!!!!! And wait staff is usually nice to everyone until they see yourface often and know that $2 tip is coming no mater how nice you are...some people are never happy and are just crappy people in general....that's probably why you only have your mom to hang out with....we work hard and have kids to support....we really don't need business like that.....we make $2.15 an hour .....we tip out 6% of sales plus bussers....yea we don't need nor want your nagging. ....you aren't even a valued customer...aka is amazing! !!!
Wonderful sushi and authentic Japanese food! Great service
AKA Japanese - Downtown. My partner and I had dinner here on a Friday night. We did not have to wait very long to be seated, the waitstaff was friendly, and the service was quite good even though they were getting crowded. We enjoyed the atmosphere.
The food was excellent. We started off with an appetizer of vegetable tempura. These were great.
For the entrees, my partner ordered the AKA sirloin steak, which he said really was cooked to perfection. I ordered the seafood delight, which was a combination of lobster, shrimp, and scallops. It was wonderful.
If at all possible, save room for dessert and order the flaming bananas. You will be amazed!
This place is so relaxing and I love the staff there very nice. The best sushi that I've ever eaten in corpus. My favorite dish is the sushi called "monkey brains". It's to die for!!
Pricey, but good. AKA is enjoyable sushi, nothing tremendous, but at least they are consistently good. It is on the pricey side, so be ready to spend $80 on dinner.
Great restaurant, our favorite in town!!
BEST SUSHI EVER!!!. Aka has become my favorite restaurant by far! Their sushi is the freshest and most unique ive ever tried... thats why so many places have tried to copy them but have failed! I love that it has two different sides with two very different feels... hibachi and dinning ... if you havent tried it yet you should!
Aka Sushi / Steakhouse. I've had the pleasure of dining at AKA several times, and it has become the place I enjoy eating sushi the most. A very tranquil dining area with an authentic atmosphere along with very fresh ingredients combine to make a great dining experience. Like most sushi and oriental places, prices are a little high, but the quality and taste is definitely worth it.
Several private rooms are available for parties of four, and one room is available for parties of eight to twelve.
AKA's is by far my FAVORITE place to hang out & eat sushi!! This place is AWESOME!
Freshest sushi in town with creative twists. Try the salmon carpaccio.
I love this place. Sat in one of the little side rooms , so private. I had a Rolando roll with eel sauce on the side. It is so good , but with the huge piece of salmon on top if each roll , I needed extra plate , I took salmon off top , turned it on side ,added Wasabi ( which was very mild) and soy sauce. Then, ate the salmon separately. The downside to being in a private room is that you don't get checked on as much. The service was ok , but could have checked more . But the food is delicious.
Had a bad experience trying another sushi place here in CC. So glad we tried Koi!!!!! BF and I loved everything (except the tuna app had tomatoes in it, more than the tuna). The rolls were made so well, everything very fresh. All cooked items had incredible flavors. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful!
First time ever going to a Hibachi Restaurant where they actually cook in front of you, This Place Made it An Amazing Experience, the food was awesome, service was excellent... I would definitely recommend it... 👌
they put way more dr pepper and
coca cola than needed
too saucy
Overall, a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is upbeat and all the staff was friendly. We were seated quickly. I enjoyed having a small private room with our own table, it made the experience feel more catered to our party. The only issue I had with the food was that a few things were missing from our meals such as rice, salad dressing, and sauces. They were brought out when we were nearly finished with our meals. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It was a great experience and I will be going back.
Fabulous place in Corpus Christi.
Korean and Japanese food can be found here, and both cuisines are the real deal. I lived in the Far East for a couple of years and have traveled extensively within the region.
Give this place a shot!
Came for sushi. They have a variety of rolls. We got two, and both were very good. Also got an appetizer of calamari which tasted very fresh. I was surprised at how much you get, and it came with two dipping sauces. Service was great as well.
The food was excellent the waitstaff was a little overworked with too many table for one person. We ordered appetizers that was forgotten and didn't come out until after our sushi rolls.
Visiting from out of town and just came here on a whim. Best decision ever. Food is delicious and the staff are so kind and funny. The spicy garlic edamame is the best I’ve ever had and the sashimi salmon and tuna is so fresh. Don’t underestimate the squid salad either! Honestly a surprise favorite for me! Definitely a must visit if you’re in town.
Some of the sizeing was a little small for my taste but that's okay. (Especially the spring rolls and crab rangoons.) Everything tasted amazing and I highly suggest the Smokey Mountain roll and Shrimp Tempura roll. I ordered over the phone and it went very smoothly. I gave a number for call back and didn't receive a call when my order was ready. I spent a decent amount of money above $100, but I expected that. Over all a great place, I would love to eat there in person next time.
Best in town for sushi! We went there on New Year's Eve and we chose the sushi side, and we were able to sit where we wanted. I like the fact that they have small nooks set aside from the main dining area. We sat in one of those nooks and it was great! Highly recommend it.
As for the sushi, we ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer and the Aka Bridge. The Bridge came with two rolls and sashimi/nigiri and a choice between a seaweed or squid salad. Absolutely amazing, as the chef's special roll (which is one of the two rolls) was catered to my requests of non-fried and spicy. I liked the fact that the waitress was very informative and that I was able to "customize" it some. Our waitress was very attentive; she kept the refills coming and asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Service, five stars! Food, five stars! Definitely recommend it!
Delicious sushi, great environment, and AWESOME sushi chefs. Definitely a hidden gem in CC. First time trying this place and we will definitely come back!
The best sushi in town. I have tried almost every sushi place and this is the best here in CC. I recommend it 100% especially the avocado bomb and the volcano roll 👏🏻
