The food was amazing! We ordered family style and every single dish that came out was full of flavor and absolutely made fresh! For our taste buds told us so!! One of my friends even went back tonight again for dinner! I would highly recommend it to all of my family and friends!!!

This place is honestly so good. The employees are friendly and attentive. The service at the bar is amazing. The only complaint I have is the wait, but honestly what can you do everyone wants to eat here. The soup dumplings were phenomenal! Would recommend 100% 💞

I have tried to eat there when I come to South coast Plaza. The lines have always been long. This time I came on a Thursday and was seated in about 15 mins. It was delicious fast and not very expensive The veggie dish was splendid the appetizer baby back ribs literally left licking my finger! Overall a great meal!

Everything was very good, pot stickers outstanding! Cannot say enough good things about the service and the friendliness. Since it was our first time, our waitress thoroughly explained the menu, making us feel comfortable and welcomed. Will be back soon!

Din Tai Fung is iconic and lives up to its reputation. They have the best Chinese food around and you really can’t go wrong with their menu. The cucumber salad is a must to start and their peanut noodles are an overlooked triumph, but the rest of their menu is just as solid. Look for what you feel like having on the day and it WILL be good. The only part that isn’t stellar is their desserts, but that is fine because you can find plenty of dessert in the mall if you really want it. The wait times get pretty long so showing up when they open is recommended.

Din Tai Fung is a popular Taiwanese restaurant chain known for its delicious dumplings and other Chinese dishes. The South Coast Plaza location is one of the busiest and most popular locations, serving up its signature dishes to hungry patrons throughout the day. The restaurant is known for its efficient service and clean, modern decor. The open kitchen allows diners to watch as their food is prepared, adding to the overall dining experience. The menu features a variety of dumplings, including pork, chicken, and vegetable options, as well as noodle dishes, soups, and vegetable sides. The restaurant also serves beer and wine, making it a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. While the restaurant can get quite busy, especially during peak hours, the staff is well-trained and manages to keep the flow of diners moving smoothly. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. Overall, Din Tai Fung in South Coast Plaza is highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious Chinese cuisine in a modern and welcoming atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious! 1st time here and will return for sure. Cucumber salad, pork chop fried rice and the spicy dumplings are my favorite! Great service also. Amanda was our server and she helped us with all the popular dishes. Will return for sure.

Great spot... Don't get me wrong... Reason for the lower stars... PRICE... Food, not bad, but not worth, after $26 tip, a $201 bill.... A few appetizers and a couple entrees, mixed in with $5 per drink of a 12 oz glass of iced tea later... A gut punch of a price tag for the food... So many great authentic Chinese dining experiences in the Costa Mesa area to choose from with a much lower cost and better flavor and serving size. Averaged $18 per plate... If you have deep pockets and want decent Chinese food.. This will work just fine for you.

Been to multiple Din Tai Fung’s and this one has been amazing as well. There was about a 30 minute wait to seat, but once in the service was great and food great as well. Definitely will be coming back to this location as everything tasted great and staff was wonderful as well. Din Tai Fung never disappoints and will come back again!

Did take out for my first time and it was a very smooth pickup. The food was delicious and I had everything I needed to enjoy the meal back at my hotel. Din Tai Fung is so good at all the locations I've ever visited but tastes better for in person dining.

Great tasting food. Super authentic, along with an authentic experience. Our server Bane was great. On the expensive side, but good for the experience, and/or for a date night out. Very busy place, so try to reserve a table in advance.

Love the Vegetarian dumplings and food at Din Tai Fung. Of all the Vegetarian dumplings, I have found this restaurant to have the best vegan dumplings & vegan won tons. I've tried different dumpling restaurants and Din Tai Fung is far the best, pricey though. The food is fresh, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. Also, ordered the Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao, Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Shao Mai, Shrimp Fried Noodles, Sautéed String Beans With Garlic and Red Bean & Mochi Xiao Long Bao for dessert. All the dishes were delicious and flavorful.

Today, I went to this restaurant and ordered a selection of their signature dishes. The experience didn't quite meet my high expectations as the flavors were more Westernized with some twists compared to traditional Chinese cuisine. However, the dishes were delicately prepared, and the service was excellent.

Excellent food! Excellent service, excellent atmosphere... no wonder this place is busy from the moment it opens to the moment it closes!!! I've been here a few times and it's ALWAYS busy! The wait wasn't long on a Tuesday afternoon ... but I'd avoid weekends if possible! My server Lily was "chef's kiss" perfect!!!

Lives up to the hype! Came around lunch on a weekend and had to wait about an hour but it was worth it. Everything was SO doglicious. We got: cucumber salad, hot and sour soup, green beans, shiu mai, pork soup dumplings, beef brisket noodle soup, spicy wontons (the chili oil sauce is to die for!!), pork chop fried rice, and chocolate mochi dumplings. I have nothing bad to say about the food. I would 100% eat everything again. Service was very attentive as well. I left and was a very full and happy dog. Overall, 5 woofs out of 5.

I rarely give any place a 5 star rating, but this one is well deserved. As expected, the soup dumplings are amazing, but their desserts make the meal! You have to try one of the chocolate buns!

Wonderful date spot with awesome dumplings! Lots of varieties, just take a look at the menu. You order various ones and have them delivered to your table as they are steamed, they won't all arrive at the same time. Very fun experience!

Excellent Taiwanese dumpling house. Made a reservation on google for mid afternoon and enjoyed a pleasant meal with the family. Their Pork Xiao Long Bao Dumplings and Shrimp & Pork Spicy Wontons were to die for. Don’t leave without trying the chocolate dumplings for desert (order both 😋). I will add our receipt as my recommendation for first timers. Enjoy!

The service and ambiance are good I'll give them that. The Braised Beef Noodle Soup, Shrimp and Pork Shao Mai and Kurobuta Pork Xiao all tase bland to me. The Cucumber Salad taste good. I don't know it just me today but i don't really see what special about this place, on a personal ranking I don't think the food are up to the hype.

The food was excellent, I had the braised beef noodles, the xiaolongbao and the steamed pork Buns; all of them were fantastic. Service was alright as staff was friendly and offered to help make the dipping sauce, however they were extremely busy so its really hard getting their attention in the first place. To add to that point, there is no reservation by phone, and you can only be put on the wait list in person so it's more first come first serve. Atmosphere was pretty good but if you sit near the entrance it's right in the mall so it can get a little loud and rowdy.
