We love shopping at South Coast Plaza! We decided to eat here for my daughter’s bday lunch. I just wanted to say, we’re very impressed with the service!! The waitstaff was very attentive after food was served, even when it was crowded, and they were all very friendly.
My family and I LOVE Boudin SF! I've been coming to Boudin's for well over 30 yrs. It started out w/being a special place just my mom and I would go and now my daughter and I make this our special place to dine. Not to mention Boudin was my 1st job ever!!! I'm a loyal diner��
I remember their Clam Chowder tasting better than this. It was good, but I recall it being great. Sadly, their hot sauce selection didn't include any Louisiana versions, which IMHO are necessary for creamy soups. My wife had a sandwich, which, while pricey, was delicious. My daughter ordered the burger and was happy enough with it. The staff were VERY friendly, so that was nice.
We ordered the clam chowder soup and chicken pesto sandwich with side salad.
The salad has an excellent vinaigrette dressing. Too much for lunch. We needed a to-go box for leftovers

If you're looking for affordable fare at South Coast Plaza, this is a good option. However, I wouldn't come to the mall just for the food.
Clam chowder- pretty thick, few clams, decent flavor. The sourdough bread bowl was the highlight.
Rib melt- cheese and bread were good. Meat was ok.
The salad that came with it had a tasty vinaigrette dressing.
It's just nice California comfort food. Salads are nice and fresh, clam chowder if good, and the sandwiches good too! I feel like this place is improving and gets better with age. Pro tip: hey the app to get the free monthly bread! Order the clam chowder regular and pull out the bread to dip.
Great restaurant with great vibes - easy, no fuss, the people who bring the food to your table are extremely helpful and kind and they make sure you have everything when u don’t even have to tip them. The selection were very tasty and healthy. It seemed like they generally really cared about the experience and for the price in an exceedingly fancy mall - it’s definitely worth it
Best place for clam chowder soup on a sourdough bread. The bread is very tasty and delicious. When the meaning of bread and butter comes up it's time to go to Boudin at South Coast Plaza. They do serve different flavor soups. Today I tried the Broccoli cheddar soup. Amazing flavor.

Great lunch spot. The bread is baked fresh daily and you can certainly tell. Get your soup in a bread bowl. You won't regret it.
Good place to order Clam Chowder Soup. Caesar Salad was also fresh and good. Will definitely return in the future!
We had rustic tomato & butternut squash soup in a bread bowl and California veggie sandwich with green ! Very tasty and enjoyable
This really reminded me of a more expensive Panera Bread. Food was good, but nothing spectacular. Atmosphere and service were great.
Been going to this location for years. Always have good Asian Chicken salad and sourdough bread. Bread bowl and chili soup is also my go to. It’s worth to get on their rewards program if you are a regular!
Wonder why this place doesn't have 5 stars. Just the bread alone is 5 stars! I've had the Butternut Squash and the Tomato Soup on Bread Bowl (not pictured, I had it on a diff day) and both were so good and so filling. I've also had the Grilled Brie with Apple and Fig Jam and the Tuna Sandwich. Delicious. Can't wait to be back and try the other grilled sandwiches. I also want to mention, the service is great. The staff walking by checked on us maybe twice to see if we needed anything else.
Another great Boudin's experience, the little bread creatures they have are impressive and funny haha
