Three of us came in on a Tuesday around 5. The restaurant is welcoming semi rustic. There are TVs, so I got to watch the Angels game. There was 1 person at the bar and a couple at another table, Our server was nice and attentive. We each got the happy hour tacos 3 for $10. We also ordered chips and salsa. We each got 2 margaritas. We enjoyed everything. Great deals for Happy Hour. I would recommend.

Amorelia Mexican Cafe makes a strong effort at providing a fine dining experience. But when the headlights of cars parking right outside the all glass front wall come glaring in, it leaves something to be desired. I travel a lot for business and am always looking for unique dining experiences. Amorelia was a generally good one. The host/bartender was a little too eager, calling me "my friend" at least three times in the first few minutes. But I'd much rather have too friendly than brusque or non-existent. They have a full bar and their drinks looked good. I had a draft beer. For dinner I opted for the Enchiladas Suizas - shredded chicken enchiladas with a tomatillo sauce. Two hazards here - the chicken can be overcooked and dry and the tomatillo can be too sour. Neither was the case tonight. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the tomatillo was among the best I've had. Really nice. The rice that came with it was much better than average, but the refried beans did their best to counter that. Had they served properly made frijoles de la olla (beans in a pot) they might have earned that fifth star. There are plenty of taco shops within easy driving range where the same meal could be had for half the price. Let's face it, some dive taco shops (of which there are many in Southern California), are very good. Many entrees at Amorelia run in the mid- to high-$20 range. And it's small, but more cramped than cozy. Put up some screens to make it less strip mall, and up your bean game and I might be back.

We loved everything about this place! Within walking distance for us so we had to try it on one of our date nights. The ambiance is really amazing, their wine selection is wonderful, and the food is so unique and tasty! I would definitely recommend. Really kind servers as well.

Great hidden gem found in the shopping center! Diverse authentic plates with the taste to match! Good portions to share (or not) and the service was excellent! The facility was nicely done with the right accents. Photos do not do this place justice. A must go place for foodies!

The food is tasty and made with fresh ingredients, the portions are big and the plate presentation is pretty. My only suggestion is to improve the quality of the tortillas or better yet to have hand made tortillas. Their staff is friendly and attentive and the place is clean and decorated nicely. Great ambiance.

Red chilaquiles are spicy and delicious 😋 . The green chilaquiles are zesty. Love this place because they are so attentive and quick to serve you. This time I had the spicy cucumber margarita and it did not disappoint, very refreshing.

A fantastic and authentic Mexican restaurant in the Costa Mesa area. Along side a quaint atmosphere/decor is a friendly service. You're welcomed with some homemade tortilla chips still warm from being made. The mains are delicious with just the right level of spice, I went with the steak fajitas myself. Be sure to save room for desert, whether churos, flan or tres leches. All very reasonably priced I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a family friendly (highchairs available) Mexican restaurant.

I had the Ceviche and Carnitas de Michoacan. To go was fine but I really missed out on the atmosphere. Fortunately the food spoke for itself. I inhaled the ceviche. As for the carnitas, I would have been happy with just the meat. The rice and beans were ok and standard but the meat shined. This may have been from getting it to go.

Really yummy food and always friendly service! A little pricier than some Mexican food, but you'll find the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Not your standard Socal Mexican food anyways - a notch above. Flavorful and traditional dishes. My favorite is the La Tampiquenia! 👌

So good! I knew we had chosen well when we were the only non-Hispanics in the place. The Sunday brunch menu was in effect, but that turned out to be just fine. Everything was excellent, right down to the chips. And the flan was...extraordinary.
