This place is definitely a new favorite! The food was delicious, the service was friendly and very quick, and the atmosphere was family friendly and comfortable! Great experience!

In my opinion, Carretas is one of the most consistently good mexican restaurants in the New Orleans area! No matter which location I have dined in the food has been good! I recommend Carretas of Metairie, Slidell and Covington!

I won the Tailgater special this past week, and I can definitely say that everything I received was awesome and fresh! The Popeye dip, salsa, queso, and guacamole were delicious! I also had a gallon of their frozen margaritas, delicious. Everything I had is perfect for tailgating. Especially in this freezing weather, it'll definitely warm you up. Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! Thank you Carreta's for being awesome!

A bit slow in the service, yet quality service when they get to your table. Pleasantly surprised by their chicken/steak fajita . Nice hint of citrus to dish. Enjoyable Margaritas

VERY GOOD. If you like good Mexican food, you'll like Carreta's Grill. This is not Taco Bell, this is real Mexican food like I used to get in Los Angeles.
My husband and I wanted something different so we googled and went to a restaurant called Carreta's Grill. We thought it may be like la Carrera in tangipahoa parish. To our delight it was not. The skirt steak was perfectly marinated so tender and tasted amazing. Not the cheap cut of meat I have grown accustomed to with other Mexican restaurants. They had a waitress (Ashlyn)there that was amazing as well. We watched as a customer was snippy for no reason ordering her around like she was her personal slave and Ashlyn handled it like a champ very sweet and accommodating. The assistant manager was also extremely nice and knew they had an awesome waitress too. I will definitely be back. This is a most go..

The stuffed poblano pepper ( chile relleno ) is amazing! The best I have ever eaten.
Delicious food and a great value. We loved the chimichangas and the rice the most. Daughter enjoyed the queso and chips appetizer. Thanks for a great meal for our family.
