The service and atmosphere is unique. The Crayfish Po Boy is pretty good but I have nothing to base it off of. The Chicken is really good and so is the Chicken Liver. Monica also had Catfish, it was better than Steve's out by Russellville.
Fun place to get your fried foods! Chicen, fish, po boys and all of the good deep fried things.
Their chicken is more batter dipped this creates a super crunchy crust!
Zucchini was amazing.
Quaint place that plays great overhead blues music.
Oh and the prices are fantastic!
Check out this unique eatery in Crestwood!
Tremendously good fried chicken - crispy skin, flavorful, juicy meat. We ordered to go but enjoyed looking at the Mardi Gras memorabilia while they fried the chicken to order. Large sides, too. Definitely recommend.
Same recipe as St Charles different building. Great staff, clean building including the restroom. I've been eating at the St Charles location since 2001. This one is bigger, but the food the the same. They have some extra pastries at the counter that do look amazing.
I love everything about this place!! The atmosphere, the employees, the food !! Everything is amazing. The prices are reasonable as well. Their chicken strips are massive and they remind me of long John silvers chicken strips but fresher and not nearly as greasy.
Bonus points for the sun records/Elvis decor.
Yeah, this is a good place with good food, but it’s pretty overrated. The food is good but nothing special. I do love the decorations and the New Orleans theme, but everything else is just good. There’s really nothing wrong with the place, I just don’t get the hype. They do have a wide variety of options, and the food is good. You get a lot, too. Good place if you like fried chicken or any kind of fish. (I do not recommend the chicken tenders. There is like no breading, they are huge and hard to eat, and they don’t even taste that good. I’m sure everything else is good, though, considering how much people like the place.)
In my opinion it is the best chicken around. I grew up in St. Charles where my dad would always pick this up for us. I would always pick the bones clean! I had no clue when I moved to South City in 2021 that there was one close by! We went and picked some up to try and well well well. It is delicious as ever. Crispy, expertly seasoned batter, the fries are divine, and you always want more than you got. We are a King Edwards family. Simply no other fried chicken will do!

The fried chicken is good, hot and juicy, the livers and gizards were good if that's your thing, I wish I had been able to try more things but I'll have to go back one day I suppose. You probably won't find a better chicken dinner for the price in this area.
Way better than hodaks in my opinion.
Love the food here, especially the jalapeno hush puppies. Oh, and the chicken is pretty good too. So is the fish. Everyone should try it at least once.
I was never a big fan of fried chicken….until king edwards! I don’t know what they do to make it so amazing but it’s so tasty! I’ve had it a few times now and have been beyond pleased every time. The chicken is so juicy and the flavor is out of this world. I’ve stuck with the mashed potatoes and gravy for a side but I plan to try some of the other items soon. It’s a cute restaurant but it seems most of their business is carry out or catering. I saw quite a few large orders being picked up while waiting for mine. The service is quick and friendly. I look forward to many more visits!
