Finally made it into this place one of the only ones I’ve never been in. Was pleasure to see the consistency of the chain. Managers working the floor even though it wasn’t crowded and that the food and drinks were good as normal :)
My colleague was in the mood for BBQ/ Smokehouse. Being an incorrigible carnivore I was totally down for that. Arrived at a packed out place, fun Friday night crowd, so we were invited to dine at the bar. Always a huge + in my experience.
I wasn’t wrong. Our bartender/ wait guy Art(uro) was quick, friendly knowledgeable and helpful.
Generous American style pours of the unassailable Tito’s on the rocks, accompanied by tender burnt ends, or as Art put it approvingly, “burn-ends! Good choice!”
My jambalaya was top-notch, fat shrimp/ flavourful Andouille sausage, tender chicken perfectly spiced. It has inspired me to experiment with this dish using fresh NZ ingredients.
Epilogue: Checking in for flight to Tampa the next morning, discovered I’d left my Visa at the restaurant. Brief panic ensues. Fortunately managed to snare a very helpful Uber driver in a Dodge Challenger who got me LAX - Culver City and back in 30 minutes, plenty of time for flight.
The point being the wonderful people of Lucille’s had kept the fugitive plastic ready for pickup. Despite not yet being open, they had it waiting for me, rising even higher in my estimation.
Kudos, Lucille’s and Los Angeles! Look forward to trying the rest of your offerings on future visits.
First time here! Delicious food! (Had the boneless bbq chicken bites and the bbq tri tip bits) Great service! Great prices (went during happy hour). Only had appetizers which filled us. Too full for mains! Would definitely go back!!!
Alot of food. I didn't even get pass my salad; but it was still delicious later on when I warmed it up. I had the bbq lunch platter with baby back ribs, tri tip, rib tips and a baked potato. I could've done without the tri tip. Nothing special about it. I'd definitely dine there again. Also, skip the sangria (not at all good).
I spent a perfect evening at the Culver City location. Kayla was so helpful and I love their "team service" where any of the staff is able to assist. We had the three meats, four sides, muddy water was so good. Nice quiet relaxing evening good people, good food! TV... Parking was well lit! Security present outside due to a homeless person...I think??? But inside we were grubbing 😋
Loved their pork rib tips, crispy salmon bites quite fun, but just little too salty.
Ate at the bar, the Texas Goes Tiki drink is flavored with prickly pear syrup and is wonderful. Lucille's Classic Caddy was also gigantic and strong. Bar food has good veg options including the buffalo cauliflower and spinach artichoke cheese dip.
Appetizers were delicious everything crispy…like Cris P Bacon 🤣…the cauliflower and the spinach dip and fries all yummy…which why Lucille’s oh most definitely for the Big Juicy Beef Ribs…all the food was great except the dessert that cake was a little too dry and bacon undercooked…but atmosphere there was great and meat was what he wanted!
Thoroughly enjoyed my food. The service was a little slow but we didn't mind. Will definitely be coming through again.
