The standout dish of the night was a potted duck confit. Like any good duck confit, there was a nice balance of fat, sweet, and savory. What helped bring the dish to the next level was the added crunch of the duck skin chicharron.

Bit by bit Culver City's been collecting new restaurants, making itself more and more relevant in the the Los Angeles foodisphere. But I wasn't thoroughly impressed by Culver City until recently. That was when City Tavern opened its doors on Culver Boulevard right next to Sony - a gastropub with a special focus on craft beer. Culver City, you've arrived. A mixture of wood and brick invites the California sun into a relaxing and welcoming environment. A few widescreen TVs round out the modern tavern experience without being obtrusive. Comfortable and unpretentious, this is the perfect home away from home to enjoy a glass of suds. And unlike many of Los Angeles' budding craft beer pubs, City Tavern comes with a fairly sophisticated menu in its own right.

City Tavern is a nice place to grab a bite to eat. They have plenty of good food options. However, I was a little disappointed in their happy hour. There are no food options, and the drinks are reduced by a couple of dollars. I probably wouldn’t come back for happy hour but I’d definitely come back for dinner. The food was excellent.

Pretty good fried chicken sandwich. Was white meat, crispy and the crispiness didn't come off the chicken. It included avocado which is off for a fried chicken sandwich but didn't hurt. Could have also used a bit more slaw. The side salad was a bit small.

I've been a couple times and my favorite part is definitely the drinks, then the staff, then the food- in that order. They have great cocktails and their bottomless mimosas on weekends cannot be beat as they have such a selection of juices. Our waiter would bring us a unique mix of juices every time and our glass was never empty! Next is the great staff they have- sometimes they can be a little hard to find when they get busy, but usually they check on you frequently and have all been friendly to the point where you feel like you actually know them. Our waiter this time stopped to make small talk with us quite a bit and he had the best personality. Lastly is the food- I've been for brunch and dinner and the selection always sounds really cool and innovative, but after eating it I haven't found anything that is like "yes! I could eat this all day!" I plan on coming back though, because it's a cool place with cool people and there's still stuff on the menu I haven't tried.

The outside seating was amazing! My burger was very good but the chicken marsala my friend got was absolutely amazing!

This is a really fun watering hole in CUlver City. I love their Happy Hour special for $10 for a 32oz milk jug share pour of most of it over 20 drafts. Even though the crowd seems to be a lot of studio people, it really does not matter to me. I love to come here for the beer,
