Stopped by to grab lunch Togo. Ordered the chicken hibachi and it was honestly I'm the top 5 hibachi meals I've had, and it was Togo food... The sauces were all fantastic and full of flavor. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Cumming. Regardless of the precious reviews, I feel this place is worth a try, especially for lunch, who can beat a full hibachi meal for $12 with tip?
ASK FOR IVAN AS YOUR COOK AND TIP HIM!!!!!!! we had dinner here tonight and the food was GREAT... it was dinner for two and he put on a show....the foid was well prepared drinks were good and strong and the lace was clean...
Umm, I can't hear you.. Well, I'll just say this, the atmosphere is way too loud. There are no items to absorb the sound. I could not even talk to my wife who was sitting next to me without screaming. The other people at my table were so deliberately drunk it was annoying. Calm down on pushing the Sake there people. The food was moderate but the fried rice was the highlight for me, steak was mediocre. The price was a little steep but i guess you pay or the show as well.
Love it!. Kani House is our "go to" for a quick sushi/Japanese fix. The service is always fantastic and the food is great. The Mango Mojito is the best around!
Always a great meal. I frequent this place, and will continue to do so, great food, nice staff, and excellent management. Love that Yum Yum sauce!!!
Best Japanese we've found!!!!. This is where my wife and I had our first date and every month on our trips back home; we stop by and relive our first date. The atmosphere is great. We usually sit in the booths because weve seen so many Japanese hibachi shows. The food dosent even come close to other Japanese restaurants and we have eatten at several in different states.
Awesome!. The sushi chef was wonderful and made us a couple of free foods. our server was very nice and such a gentleman... and delicious sushi! go there!
Very good. Love the atmosphere. Good service and very good green tea. Everytime I go, I always get the sushi.
Fun dining experience. Extensive menu with vegetarian options available. The place shows a little bit of wear and tear but well maintained. The staff was a mixed bag, a few I interacted with were just polite but not overly friendly. My waitress however was very warm and attentive.
It was really good, and was a lot more sanitary then what the other reviews were saying. We were a bit unhappy with the amount of vegetables, but everything tasted good. Answering a review I saw, a girl was complaining she got shrimp with her chicken, and if she read the menu, she would have seen it comes with two pieces of shrimp.
I am new to the area, but not new to giving reviews. I'm a foodie and I like to review restaurants as a hobby, mainly doing it just for fun. But I enjoy giving honest feedback!
The outside and the inside of Kani is gorgeous! Initially walking in, I was greeted right away and asked if I wanted Habachi or Dine-In. I opted for a dine-in experience, as it give me more freedom to do this review a little bit more stealthily.
One thing I would like to note:
There was an odd aroma in the air when I was taken to the dining area. I am not sure if it was a cleaning agent lingering or something else, but it brought a funk to the air. I overlooked it though, as they seemed to be going through a slower period with customers and I assumed it must mean they were cleaning up after a rush. I was one of only two or three tables being filled at the time.
My server was quick to give me menus and ask me what I would like to drink. I asked for a water while looking over the menus thoroughly. They have a pretty great selection of cuisine! Most of it did seem a little high in pricing, so it set the bar high for the quality I was to expect.
I ordered their version of a Long Island Iced Tea, as well as a rice with vegetables and a California Crunch sushi roll.
The tea was SPOT ON! Perfectly made without being too strong or too weak for my personal taste!👌 Though, compared to other Long Island Iced Tea cocktails I have had at other restaurants, it was not as strong for it's price. Again, if I am paying a high dollar amount, I would hope that the quality would match or supercede my expectations. While it fit my personal preference in strength, it may not fit the preference of others who regularly have a cocktail with their meal, (especially for almost being $10 by itself).
The sushi was was SUPERB! I could tell sushi was definitely their forte!! If you are looking for quality sushi rolls, then this is definitely a place to consider! For it's price, it matched it's quality. I can't say it is the best I've had, but it was still up their in the top tier with some of the greatests I've indulged in at other places. Their twist on a classic was delicious, for sure!
The rice with vegetables is one I tend to get at most Habachi places. You can really tell how well an Asian restaurant operates by their quality of rice. If it doesn't stick together, needs soy sauce, and/or it isn't able to be eaten easily with chop sticks, then it is not good rice. Though, that wasn't the case here! The rice stuck together well enough to eat with chopsticks, (but it wasn't the stickiest I've ever encountered). The veggies were cooked all the way through. I did not need any type of sauce with it either, (though they did offer it).
My waiter came to me often, checking my drink and asking me if I needed anything. The service was extremely good! He was a very nice and polite young man, so I tried to tip him well.
As if I wasn't full enough at the end, they also brought me some rainbow sherbet. It was small, but unexpected and delicious! My check came to me and it was a high ticket, but I knew it would be by seeing menu prices beforehand. I spent close to $40 just by myself on everything I've listed.
Overall, my experience was pleasant and I enjoyed the food as well as the service. I would definitely come back with friends and family to try their Habachi side next time!
8/10, would recommend!
Don't overlook Kani House!
Try it for yourself; I don't believe you will regret it!
The food is great. We eat there once a month and every birthday when the kids pick there favorite place. They love watching the cook do his magic while cooking, The kids like the Volcano demonstration out of the onions.
We’ve always had great experiences here, but tonight took the cake. Excellent hibachi and AMAZING service! They took such good care of my son who has many allergies and dietary restrictions - he gobbled up his food (steak and zucchini, cooked in tallow) and asked for more! I’m keto as well, so eating out can be tough (I ate all my food before I thought of taking a pic 😂). It makes it so much easier when you have a wonderful place you know you can trust to accommodate your needs. We love you, Kani House!!
The food is great . I don't like that if you're ordering to go that they aren't separating the sushi from anything hot in the bag. It would be more convenient to have it in two separate bags rather than having the sushi then getting warm. Do not bother with car side to go. I waited for 25 minutes in my car for carside pickup and it wasn't delivered so I finally called inside and they don't do car side delivery anymore despite it being offered on their website. I feel it should be removed as an option from their website then instead of having a customer wait for 25 minutes in their vehicle and having their food either get warm or cold in the restaurant.
