Food was delicious; what little there was of it.
Item pictured, 6 pieces of Scallops with Uni,
was over $25.00!
Duck with Plum sauce, another pricey item, was also very good, especially the sauce.
Atmosphere was very nice: Quiet, dark, calming music. Table choice of American with chairs or the more traditional with seats on the floor. I liked it.
Parking is in a small lot; but if you are not there before opening or are not lucky, don't expect to be right in front of the place; it is wildly popular and there is almost always a row of cars parked directly in front of this restaurant.
Very good, but pricey, pretty food. Go with money to burn, especially if you are hungry!
The environment was really classic and the service was great! The food was decent and reasonably priced. They have a wide variety of menu items. All the things we ordered was good.

Friendly atmosphere with tatami seating and homey Japanese decor.
Lots of food choices. Something for everyone!!
Stand out dishes for me were the clay pot rice and grilled beef tongue!
Grilled squid - standard, smoky grilled squid
Okonomiyaki pizza - this was okay. I wouldn’t order it again. I’d rather have a non fusion, normal okonomiyaki.
Beef tongue - smoky, delicious.
Chicken clay pot rice - notes of mirin and savory ground chicken. Rice at the bottom is crispy.
Agedashi tofu - pretty standard. On the sweeter side
Mentaiko potato gratin - I love anything Mentaiko so I could have just shoveled this into my face.
Ankimo - standard fish liver. Not the most fresh, but pretty good!
Kanpachi carpaccio - liked the sauce. Same as ankimo, could have been more fresh, but it was still good.
izakaya style restaurant tucked away in a normal strip mall. Cupertino is super lucky to have this kind of food here. The menu is really thoughtful and well laid out. A mixture of Japanese and Japanese fusion dishes. Everything I've had is super fresh and tasty, although the portions are small because that is the style. A step above TANTO in food quality, decor, and presentation, but that is reflected in the price as well.
