I have been a fan of Sage Creek Grille since it opened. Sage Creek is my go to place with friends, visitors, family. There is no other place like this in the Black Hills! Relaxing, great staff, consistently in food quality and fabulous owner Nancy! Thank you Sage Creek Grille!
We have never been disappointed when we have eaten at Sage Creek Grill. We have eaten there for many years and the food has always been great. I have recommended your restaurant to visitors that are traveling through the Black Hills. I always get responses that the restaurant was a good recommendation.
Had the best unexpected time. Had servers Jennifer and Walter whom are from both states we live in. Woot! The food was exceptional. Potatoes au gratin was the best ever. Had to inquire about the recipe. Stop in for a great meal, fantastic dessert and wonderful people. Then stay the night at the Baravain Inn for more amazement.
My friend and I stopped here after a long day of playing tourist. What a surprise! Meals are freshly cooked (no frozen), and each unique. I had the Jamaican Stew, and it was the best meal that I have had in a very long time with its unique Jamaican flavors! I highly recommend this hidden gem when you visit Custer!

We went in for a light bite to eat and were very pleased with the food (buffalo lettuce wrap and salad) as well as the friendliness and atmosphere. Would definitely go back!
Had a great buffalo burger yesterday, so returned for the salad with mandarin oranges, goat cheese etc. topped with grilled chicken. All yummy! (The only downside is there are no soft surfaces to absorb noise).

Our waitress was super sweet. Food was excellent & both the desserts we tried were to die for!
The service was impeccable. I had the chefs special steak. A 10 oz buffalo ribeye. Which was cooked perfectly the way I requested. Overall it was amazing!
We had an incredible experience at Sage Creek Grille. Our server, Jennifer was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. The atmosphere is one of comfort and cooperation. All of the servers seem to work seamlessly and happily together. The food was very good, and clearly freshly made. LOVED it!!
Outstanding food and excellent service. Our family of four enjoyed a lovely meal and will definitely be returning!
Amazing! The Siracha carrot white bean hummus is a must! Great service, nice beer list, all fresh.
Edit:
Had Lunch & went back for Dinner!!!
Everything is good here. Walleye was super & the shrimp appetizer rocked!
Delicious food & great vibe + fantastic service = awesome restaurant!!
Soup of the Day was amazing….carmelized onions, carrots, & lentils 😋
Everything about this place is wonderful! The food- excellently conceived, prepared and executed- such a standout in a small town. The staff- warm, friendly, efficient- I haven't seen a restaurant staff work that week together since before the pandemic. Atmosphere- laid back and welcoming. The price - just right for the high quality you get. Going to Custer? Make time to grab a meal here.
We are here for dinner while on vacation in the Black Hills area. The food was amazing, the staff were attentive and positive, and this was the best meal out we have had as a family in a long time! Dinner entrees were fairly priced with generous portions and wonderful flavor options. The kids meals (separate menu) were $6-7 each and well worth it. We tried the Mohamarra appetizer (like a fancy hummus, but better!) and for dinner we had the angel hair pasta with sun dried tomato basil butter (my daughter added bacon bits that were actual pieces of real bacon, not just bits), the Asian Chili Pepper Shrimp and Rice, and the Bourbon Street Cajun Fettuccine with shrimp. All were awesome. We would definitely eat here again!
Eat here. You won't be disappointed. The menu isn't 12 pages deep, but they still offer an impressive array of exciting options. The difference between a good restaurant and a great restaurant is that a great restaurant has the right staff and an positive atmosphere to go with the food. As soon as we walked in the door, the hostess (Alicia? Didn't have a name tag on so sorry if the spelling is wrong) was pleasant and kind. She had a line of people,a full house, and still seemed to genuinely ask and care about how we were doing. Then, our server, Amanda, spent a fair bit of time helping us through the menu and was so patient and kind. At this point, even if the food was only so-so, it still would be a win. However, from the app (artichoke dip) to the entrée the food was delicious. Needed to be rolled out the door....generous portions.
Fantastic! We were coming through town and picked this place randomly. We were pleasantly surprised -the food was fabulous. We had the “Jamaican Vegetarian Stew,” which our server kindly recommended with bacon. It was one of the best entrees I’ve had at a restaurant in a while. We then learned that 2 other families we knew at the family reunion we were passing through Custer to attend had similar experiences with completely different choices. And our 2 young boys loved their pizza and burger kid meals as well, respectively. Hooray!
Simply amazing! Staff is super friendly and work together wonderfully. The food was above and beyond our expectations. The house favorite is a fettuccine in Cajun cream sauce, and it was delicious! My wife got the ramen and I was stunned when I tried it, because it was even better than the fettuccine.
Highly recommended!
Great restaurant, great food and fabulous service. Everyone is so friendly starting with the cute hostess and continuing with our cute and bubbly waitress.. We were so impressed with everyone we came back the next evening. Food is delicious and plenty from salads, burgers and fish.
Cute, small town bistro! I recommend the salmon, walleye and artichoke appetizer. Pasta left something to be desired. Very friendly and attentive staff! Nice environment!
