We ate here about two weeks into our transformation into veganism and were pleased with the guidance offered by our young waitress. This converted old house is colorful, meaningful, and chocked full of images. Socrates Plato-Spicy portabella mushrooms over basmati rice served w/ garlic nan & a salad. Buddha's Delight- Curried vegetables of the day,one samosa and a cup of dahl- served with rice, pappadam,& nan. It has honestly been seven months since we ate here, but I remember being pleased with the food; however I had a terrible diarrhea afterwards which I attributed to that old culprit- lettuce. The cake that we ate was tasty. I could see us returning here in the future.
Eggsgsdhhe eheheheh d dbdbhe e dbdhdhdhhdhdhdserved with served with strawberry on the sides. Sooo good😍 on the sides. Sooo good😍served with strawberry on the sides. Sooo good😍
Very cozy spot with super healthy food. You could be excuse if you think you're having a meal in a particularly hip spot in LA until you get the bill. Very reasonably priced. I can't wander by without picking up a glass of chai, so when I'm in Oak Lawn, I'm here at least once a day.
This restaurant is absolutely breathtaking! I could not stop staring at all the decor I was surrounded by. So beautiful and the food was so flavorful! Needless to say, I am looking forward to my next visit to Dallas!
If you are into clean eating, raw food, vegetarian food then this place is amazing. I have been driving past the Cosmic Cafe for so long and really wanted to try it. Since I went for it the first time, have been visiting the place consecutively for lunch. It’s eclectic ambience, no fuss, quick service and has a meditation room on top 😊 floor. It’s got a zen feeling in it...
Not only is the place fun/ zen/ Indian looking and very colorful but their food is delicious. They also offer free meditation and yoga classes. Definitely recommend. Specially for vegetarians and vegans!
Such a cute, quaint and quirky place. Food was exceptional and the atmosphere was serene. So much to look at. Also love the meditation room and the outside courtyard. Worth a visit. I frequent here.
A must try Place for some change than usual . The Best here are the Samosas .Since i am Vegetarian due to Navratri ,dasara festival the waiter here helped us with a gracious smile and best advice wrt to veggie food .Tried their popular and best selling meal which had Rice, bread,Curry of the day ,Soup ,papad and Samaosa . My friend tried the Spinach Salad . Both were very good in taste and portions were very right. The place has very Indian Theme mostly such cafes are found in Goa , Himachal , Hrishikesh etc. The music they play is Soothing and this place has a Cosmic Meditation centre on 2nd floor ,pay as donation basis.
One of my favorite restaurants. I love this place. It has fantastic food. I love the Cosmic Stir, but I wish they would add some cashew nuts on top. I bring my own cashew nuts when I go. I love the Soy Chai Tea, too and you get to refill up to 3 cups of tea. I usually can only finish 2. I add the honey they have available at the tea station. The only problem they have is with parking. There is plenty of seating, but it's easier to park across the street at the Office Depot. Other neighboring businesses will tow your vehicle. It's probably because Cosmic Café is the only business in the area that has continual customers and the other places are jealous.
Great food. Went in at closing time because of a traffic jam on 635. Still they let us in - 4 of us. The food got onto our tables very quick. Loved the hummus and the pizzas. The ginger beer was too good. Definitely recommend to any vegetarian in or visiting Dallas. Super ambience for a vegetarian restaurant.
Cosmic is always good which explains why it is the D magazine readers choice for vegetarian . I'm not vegetarian but eat here at least weekly because it's just delicious. Had a scallion pizza on whole wheat nan couple of days ago, just finished the Socrates Plato with brown rice - spicy and great! Staff is always friendly - I have never had a problem with service do not sure what others are talking about - eaten here for 6 years and never had a service problem
Terrible Service, Awesome Food. The service was some of the worst I have ever experienced, but the food was equally impressive on the positive side. Not sure if I will return soon, but will have to go back eventually to explore more of the menu.
This place is COOL. I tried the "I hate eggplant " fell in love with eggplant all over again. I just wish it was less oily and more on the grilled ....
Lovely.. Brilliant atmosphere. Friendly staff. Fairly priced, wide selection.
Best Indian food ever! Free coffee and chi soy. Food was great. MUST TRY.
Great sandwiches. Okra remedy and portobello trance are my favorites
Great food and atmosphere, a bit overpriced.. The hummus and lassi were great. Good service. I'd describe the prices as "trust-fund hipster".
Overall I give this place 7.5/10. I had the Sufi special and the hummus was very well prepared. the samosa tasted crunchy and fresh and not too greasy, and the naan was good as well, although i could have used more pieces. I had a yogurt drink that I can't remember the name of that was tasty, but served warm, which made the consistency odd. I feel the food was slightly overpriced for what I got, but walked away feeling satisfied. Definitely a good place to go to if you're vegan, as Dallas is severely lacking in vegan friendly restaurants. Calming atmosphere and friendly waitresses as well.
Exactly what I expected. We ate at CC for the first time today. Arrived around 5pm. Had the hummus appetizer which was amazing. We had the "portabella trance" that had fresh ingredients and prepared after we ordered. We also had the "buddah's delight" which was eggplant and potatoes today. Very delicious! The rice pudding was a perfect desert. All the above with water to drink was around $23. I liked the quirky atmosphere.
Amazing! The Bombay Sage dish was delicious and filling. The vegan chocolate cake is to die for.
Best Dahl in the City!. This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch with my girlfriends. I've had almost everything on the menu - everything is always fresh - and you can't beat the dahl!
Best black bean burger ever. Friendly staff and a great environment.
Great soy chai !!!. Went just for a tea and a dessert. The soy chai is absolutely good!! I have never tried one like this before, and the chocolate chip cheesecake was very good too. Next time I will definitely try an entree....Great service.
Great for a veggie!. Love the all vegetarian menu and the eccentric atmosphere.
So good and such a good price! I had the portabella trance that was AMAZING! My table all shared our dishes so I got to try the Buddah Feast....awesome curried veggies, and the hummas platter which was also perfect! We had to try the mango cheesecake and I'm so glad we did. It was super smooth and the texture was closer to a flan but totally worth it. Will definitely be back often.
Absolutely fantastic vegetarian food with a really cool eclectic atmosphere. You do not have to be vegetarian to love this place!
Fantastic Food. Cosmic Cafe is the only vegetarian restaurant that i know, but I'm not going anywhere else after eating here. I went to this place the first time a couple of years back. One of my friends told me that I should try their food, but I'm not a vegetarian... so I thought to myself... hmm... what can I possibly eat there. It turns out... quite a lot. I ordered this really thin, large chips with some sort of veggie sauce. It tasted so good. My friend and I were pleasantly surprised that we could actually eat a meal without any meat!! The place was a little small (or maybe that it just felt that way cuz it was quite busy all the time), but I just felt right at home with their new age, eastern atmosphere. Parking can be quite a challenge there because they didn't have a lot of parking spaces... the parking lot was extremely small and in the back area, which you have to go through this super narrow alley to get there. Yet, that didn't quite keep me from going back there time and time again :) Just be patient with finding a parking spot or just park elsewhere close by. Anyway, I have had such a wonderful experience enjoying the cozy, homey feelings while eating their delicious veggie foods :) I'm hooked. Every time I get together with a vegetarian friend of mine, we always ended up at this wonderful restaurant. It was a bliss.
Fun vegan fare. I was frustrated by the lack of vegetarian options throughout much of Dallas. However, I was frustrated no more when I came in here with my date! With everything from enchiladas to samosas on the menu, there's no lack of yummy meatless cuisine to munch on.
When I'm back in Dallas, I'll make sure to stop here again.
Unique place and food for the 'hood. All vegetarian (not vegan) fresh-food cuisine, fragrant Teas (Chai I should say), they even feature a Lite menu (smaller lighter dishes), good soups and more. Check out the website link on here and explore the menu. Try everything, it's good.
Go in with an open mind. To me it is somewhat like trying food from a different ethnicity. The first impression is usually about ow it is similar to yet still different from something that you more commonly eat. They have a range of options and everyone can find something that they will like.
Good but pricey. The no bull burger almost tastes like a real burger. Not for everyone.
Great Lunch Place. Cosmic Cafe was my first vegetarian experience and I was so impressed with the food, it eliminated any previous misconceptions I had. So much so, I became a vegetarian for 5 years after that!!! I realized that vegetarian food was not just rabbit food--it had some hearty dishes that were guilt free.
Today I make sure to bring by out of town guests to this place. They are always enjoy the hippie vibe and the yummy healthy food.
My favorite has to be the spinach enchiladas. A whole lotta good food on that plate. It never disappoints.
Fresh and delicious!. I like the ecclectic style-it is very artistic. I have to agree though-parking there is the worst feature. I have been going there since it was the Cosmic Cup as well, and have enjoyed everything I have ordered there. The coffees and teas are good too. I recommend the Buddha plate for when you have a hearty appetite. If wanting something light, go for the salad with a side of hummus and naan. Vegan dessert choices as well, which are rare to find in this area.
Good food, if a bit too themed. I've been going here since it was the Cosmic Cup and it's been consistently good. The food is great if you can get past the idiotic names and the owner used to staff the place exclusively with cute girls, so it's hard to not enjoy yourself. The place looks like some kind of Hindu brothel or something; the owner just didn't know when to stop painting the place, but it's really ok. It has a nice covered front porch where you can drink tea and watch all the fashionably dressed bachelors walk by.
The parking is a nightmare. I don't try to use the microscopic lot in back; I just park across the street at office depot. I've been doing that for 10 years and I've never been towed, but I always brows around the office supplies for a while 1st.
Loved it. I had portobello on nan bread. I loved it. I am now a fan of carrot juice. Very refreshing.
