Been coming to Chip's now for years whenever I am in the area. Everything I've had has been excellent, although the French Dip au jus was too salty one time. The Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich is hands down the best grilled chicken sandwich I've had in the metroplex. Fries are crisp and not overly seasoned. Blue Plate Special with grilled pork chops is terrific, great value too. Service is really good too. Just be forewarned, it can be pretty crowded around lunch time and most of the parents allow their kids to run all over the place. Other than that, you can't go wrong eating here.

Glad I saw this place. It has a perfect old fashioned burger done to your order with uniquely spiced fries. Shredded lettuce, pickles, choice of cheeses, many condiments served quickly by the friendly staff. Picnic table Hamburger stand ambiance, ample parking, reasonable mid-range pricing. Beer, wine, soft drinks, fountain or ice-down tub.
Chips has such a fun setting- lots of choices for even the pickiest in our family- what sets this place apart tho is the employees- the owner is usually present at this location too - super service oriented and large portions of comfort food- try the pulled pork anything:)

This Place is Just Cool. How can you not like Chips? It's a triangle shaped building painted in sunshine yellow and accented in green. I'll admit the outside appeal is kind of, "huh, what, really?" Inside, the experience starts. First you get a traditional line out the door at lunch. It took about 10 minutes to work our way up to the counter. That line speaks volumes about the love of this place. The wall menu is placed just right to allow you to shop as you move towards your turn. They have huge offereings besides just burgers. The older gentleman taking our order was awesome. He fit the decor, attitude and atmosphere. Inside, the feeling is like an A-frame barn painted yellow with traditional red/white checked table covers and tissue wrappings. The odd signs and decor make it loveable.
Now the burger. It's good, not great. I cannot lift this up to say it's the best burger around. The meat is a traditional thin diner pattie cooked with just a slight char. It's not very juicy, but tastes good. The poppy seed (most popular choice) bun really is awesome. It's the best thing about the whole burger. I added mushrooms and bleu cheese, it was good. The onions had no flavor. I could not taste them even though I could see them.
I am just short of giving this place a double thumbs up or marking it as a favorite. The decor, feeling, burger and service all add up to just a cool place to have a good burger. Now that I've had the experience the odd outside look of a yellow building takes on a different meaning. That odd yellow building now means, fun, I can't wait to try that again.

Great place to eat. Great hamburger, super thin onion rings, and great Philly cheese sandwitch. Not for the diet lover, with these but great to eat, and you taste everything, no cardboard patties or over battered onionrings. Greeeeat
Pretty Tasty. The Tuna Burger was excellent. Seared rare to perfection. The 1/2 lb Augus Burger was also cooked to medium-well perfection. Would recommend, and will go to again.

Most awesome burger I've ever had!. I like Kincaids. And I like the Porch. But they don't come close to Chip's. They all have big, fresh meaty patties. I just like the taste of Chip's better.

Hearty burger. I was craving a fresh made burger and found just that at Chips. I had the guacamole turkey burger on a wheat bun and it was big, juicy and made with fresh ingredients. We will definitely be back at least until In n out opens up!!
Chicken fried steak burger!. That's right, a chicken fried steak burger. I thought these were extinct until I saw them on the menu at Chip's. This is the only thing I've ever ordered from them so I can't review their other burgers; this steak burger is fabulous. Perfectly fried, well-seasoned, accompanied by an appropriate amount of toppings. Fries are good and milkshakes are heavenly. The dining area is tight. Do NOT bring your stroller inside, ladies. We live down the street and love taking our relatives here for a casual, greasy lunch.
Very expensive but the food is great. The burgers are excellent and be sure to try the honey mustard.

Best Burgers, Rings, and Shakes in Town!. The burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches are simply great, but there is so much more there. The string onion rings are absolutely the best in town, as are the chocolate shakes (vanilla is also good). Several in my group love the Pig Sandwhich (huge pulled pork sandwhich with relish and BBQ) and order it every time they go.

I get a Bacon Cheeseburger, Medium, with Mayo only.
Everything is right about this burger -the size of the patty, the amount of cheese, the type of bacon, and the poppyseed bun. It's perfect every time! The cheddar fries are tip-top as well! They're utterly enveloped with cheese -like that mosquito in sap from Jurassic Park. Dipping it in their ranch dressing is truly life-changing!
Not only is it the best burger, but most likely my favorite restaurant in Texas. Well done!

Although some menu items lean on the expensive side, the food and pleasant atmosphere is worth it. In addition to the famous burgers and delicious milkshakes, the chicken sandwiches are to die for. I definitely recommend this restaurant to all ages.

Absolutely Awesome. This jewel is in a hip string of places on Lovers Lane. I had an amazing Bacon Jalepeno cheeseburger with the best sweet potato fries I have had in a long time... if not EVER. 5 thumbs up for Chip's Old Fashioned Burgers with their service with a smile.

Amazing Burgers. No other burger place in Dallas will amount to Chips. Huge burgers and Fries that will rock your world. Also, great milkshakes. Definitely wont be dissapointed
Chips Hamburgers. Chips has the best hamburgers in town. But even if you aren't in the mood for red meat, there are plenty of other options to satisfy your hunger. Great atmosphere, outdoor seating, a great place to watch sports or take the kids. Also, the milkshakes are to die for!
Now serving liquor/best burgers money can buy. Chip's Hamburgers is the only place in Dallas to get a real hamburger. When they say old fashioned, that's what they mean. And it just got better since they started serving liquor and added a few more TVs. Pretty exciting. I'm already hungry
Dinner Favorite. Chip's is one of my friends and my favorite restaurant! The chicken tenders are the first thing I go for but the burgers are probably the best in the city. It really can't be beat.
Mmmmm. My friends and I have been going to chips for years! It is by far my favorite hamburger place in dallas. It's perfect because there is always something for everyone- great salads, hamburgers, even tex mex. Great for families, groups and casual dates. Indoor and outdoor seating. Order a milk shake and the sweet potato fries!!
Don't expect potato chips, corn chips, kettle chips, or more inventive chips like veggie chips.
But, this place features some incredible burgers with every topping you can imagine.
I saw them passing out nachos, which looked pretty good. Didn't have any, but there always a next time.

It's been a couple decades since I've eaten here, used to come with my wife after moving to Dallas. Just as good as aI recall and after driving for 14hrs this was a great burger to enjoy with some wine I picked up in my hotel. It live up to the memories and on the way back through Dallas, this time with my wife, I took her today 11/19. She loved it. Fresh, delicious burgers on seeded butter buns with lots of options for kicked up toppings. Fried mushroom app is delicious. Until next time, keep making great food Chip's!
Real good burgers and sides. I like the fries and onion strings combo that's big enough to share. The 1/3 pound burger is big and will fill you up. TV screens give it bit of a sport's bar vibe.
This place is awesome! I had the Bison burger and it was absolutely delicious. Chocolate milk shake is great. The atmosphere is super unique because the building used to be a church I think. There are a lot of fun quirky details all over the place.
Might be hard to find parking at peak times but the nearby neighborhood has parking on the street.

My wife and I are newlyweds and we were recommended to come here by family.
Other than the fact that it was named a burger place, we didn't know what to expect.
They have varying sizes of burgers. We both got the 1/3rd lb. patty adding cheese and bacon and 2 sodas. They also have different kinds of buns, including a poppy seed butter bun. The manager Jacks, I hope that's his name, recommended it. It was reasonably priced and very good. The bun itself was unique and delicious.
This location has a full bar and a shaved ice station, which in the August heat my wife loved.
There's also a neat sign to the patio that says, "HAMBURGER PATTY-O," which both of use had a great laugh about.
Heavily recommend this place and when we come back to Dallas we will come back here.
First time in. Large menu with good variety. I tried steak fingers and mashed potatoes. Steak fingers and gravy were very good. Mashed potatoes would have been good but all I could taste was the salt in them. Fries others were having looked quite good, so I'll opt for those next time. Very clean. Enclosed Patio was lovely. I'm looking forward to going back!
Great old-school burger joint! Even though I had the philly steak sandwich...which was one of the best since the ones I had in Philly. They pack the meat, cheese, peppers, and onion into an awesome roll. Their tater tots were great too: crispy and well seasoned. Cudos to Moises, who was genuinely friendly and seems to really care about the customers.

It's the original CHIPS. The atmosphere is great. The staff is friendly. The food was fantastic. It was fast hot and fresh. We sat at the bar on a Saturday around noon. That's when it starts to get busy.
Nice little quaint place . Haven't been here in at least 10 years. Burgers are pretty good nice and juicy. Get the onion nest. Those are the best around. The customer service could improve a bit as most transactions do not end in a smile nor a thank you. Also please use extreme caution when entering the parking lot. There's a pot hole there that's sure to jar your spine!

Food was delicious old school vibes and poppy seeds on the bun. Very cool inside they offer patio seating also a bar inside for the adults. Parking is a little tight and limited but if I can do it in my suburban you can too.
Great food, good price, and overall nice place. It's kind of a cramped interior, but with this great burger, they need the seating. Menu is huge, literally as well as actually. Great family place as well.
The loaded baked potato is HUGE! It has real bacon, sour cream, fresh chives and cheese. Absolutely perfect and delicious!
I love this place. The food is great, lots of choices in addition to their fantastic old school burgers! everyone who works there seems to be enjoying their job and it's a great quick stop right off the tollway. I look forward to every opportunity. They have a bar and patio too.

This was perfect. I was moaning over my meal the entire time. I honestly feel like I can go back and try something else and be happy no matter what I order!
From the burger to the sides (and we got several to share) just everything was sooo freaking good! Also, customizable! I really appreciated the actual bottles of mayo, ketchup, and mustard on the tables instead of ordering it - and frankly this seems super smart too. Like, if you ask for no tomato's and you get them anyway, it's easy to pluck the fruit off. But nothing is worse than a condiment you don't like.
