Hands down the best sushi experience I've ever had. To gain full experience you must sit at the sushi bar and request NUKE to serve you. He is extremely talented, passionate and respectful. I went for my birthday dinner with my girlfriend and he asked us if we would like to order off the menu and have the chef pick (omakase) - the fact that he asked us shows his level of respect for the art and experience and his preparation techniques are only matched by the fun experience he provides while eating the best sushi in Dallas! I can no longer go anywhere else for sushi as I will never have an experience this great again. MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR NUKE AT THE SUSHI BAR - you will leave with an amazing experience and a smile of satisfaction that will never leave your face. 5 stars and a definite return customer.
Just when you think you have had the pinnacle of sushi around town, you stumble upon this place and realize that you have been fooled your entire life. The quality of the food here was insurmountable and the service even better. Chef Nuke, who previously worked under Iron Chef Morimoto, prepared my boyfriend and I dinner, omakase (dishes completely selected by the chef). The dishes seemed to start off great and only continue to get even better. Presentation was so stunning, it was almost sad to ruin by eating. I have not had anything compare to the impeccable taste of the various courses in all my sushi eating days. Chef Nuke was beyond personable and funny, making the dining experience worth far more than the price dinner cost. Sushi will never be the same for me, and I will never go anywhere else. I highly recommend you stop by and help make Chef Nuke famous. He deserves it.
This place served Japanese food that taste so great. I immediately fell in love with the Longhorn Roll - with grilled shrimp and eel bbq sauce! Tuna and salmon sashimi were really soft and the wasabi didn't taste like it came from a bottle/was powder before. The tori karaage bowl with spicy roe was okay. The chirashi bowl was tasty! I liked the rice and the sashimi selection.
Service was great too. I felt we were given more customer appreciation because our server was Filipino :P Not that she was biased but our teas were kept hot and she always asked if we were having a great lunch. That was nice.
I'd love to dine here again, maybe during dinner since I heard they had more appetizer selections at night.
This place is really great. Reasonable prices for the quality you get.
Don't get the bento boxes though! They are not good, and are far too expensive in that regard.
We got off the tollway on a whim and stumbled on this place. Great lunch specials -- chirashi bowl was fresh, good sushi bento and Nabeyaki udon was slurpity good. It was a pleasant surprise
Hands down the BEST sushi and Japanese restaurant in dfw! I lived in Japan for seven years and the very first thing I noticed is how all of the dishes are what I used to get back home. My boyfriend and I drive twenty minutes at minimum twice a month to come here! The quality of the fish is AMAZING, food is great and the staff are the friendliest and most attentive. Every other sushi place in Dallas that I've tried doesn't even come close! If you love sushi you need to give this a try! It's addicting!!
It is OK but the sushi is not made by robots as advertised Vegas
This place is a great izakaya, tapas type of restaurant. We always get a bunch of yakitori and appetizers and finish with onigiri-rice balls. Authentic and yummy.
LOVE IT!. Service is wonderful, atmosphere is comfortable, food is delicious at an amazing price.

It was ok! I guess it's best if u are familiar with their menu... Food was good... The waitress wasn't that helpful in suggesting good Sushi to try since she "doesn't eat Sushi"!?
It wasn't great but it was good. The portion sizes were too small and the seating very uncomfortable.
Lovely interior and a very broad menu. Broader selection of fish for sushi and sashimi than almost anywhere in town. Very reasonable prices and good service.
Surprisingly cute interior which you'd never know from the outside. Consistently good food as well.
Hands down some of the best sushi! Great variety of fish with sashimi, sushi and rolls as well as adult beverages. Great service too! Will definitely be back.
Everything I ordered was fantastic! Best Japanese restaurant in Dallas!
We are very frequent visitors at Sushi Robata with my son. My most favorite: sea scallop hand roll. The service is always good, staff is friendly, food is fresh. They have a good variety of Japanese beer, they also serve wine and sake. I enjoy Sapporo Light.
Tasty food. Wide selection (sushi and sashimi, bento, noodles, rice dishes, fried and grilled dishes, appetizers, dessert, alcohol). Great customer service and staff. Good portion sizes at good prices.
Have dined in multiple times and will continue to do so!
[Dec. 29 Update] Added photos from recent dinner. Still 5-stars.
Sushi Robata has been around for a long time. They continue to be consistent, reliable and a good value compared to other sushi places. The staff is also hard working and respectful. I highly recommend Sushi Robata.
You cannot see how fancy inside from outside. There are so many small appetizers such as Takoyaki, gyutataki, agedashidofu, etc. some of meals you cannot find in TX, very rare and traditional taste meals you can have bite at Sushi Robata. Also price is very good price. Each appetizer is around 3-5 dollars, and taste is amazing. They have special menu almost everyday changing, and chef made it. A lot of choices. Even sake, shochyu has so many different varieties!! Sushi is always fresh, little small piece you expect, chef is knowledgeable japanese. from special menu, some fish is from Japan, taste just amazing !! You can enjoy “Omakase” “Kaiseki” here. Since I came here, I am big fun of sushirobata. I JUST LOVE THIS PLACE !! You can have 25-30 people big party here, so good for party. 2 rooms are half private room. highly recommend!
Sushi Robata is a really great place for quality sushi. I visited there today for lunch and was more than impressed. The service is top notch and they really take good care of you during your visit. The Sushi quality is excellent and they serve really fresh fish. I was also very impressed with the atomosphere in the dining room, it was very clean and very welcoming. They offer a lot of good lunch specials and bento box combos. I want to come back for dinner sometime because it looks like a great place to bring friends for a great dining experiance.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant. I swear it gets better every time we go. Takoyaki - crispy and so flavorful. Tonkotsu Ramen - hot, incredibly delicious, excellent noodle texture. Sashimi - amazing flavor, practically melts in your mouth. For how much food my husband and I order whenever we go here, it’s really reasonably priced for a Japanese restaurant, especially when the food is as superb as what we get here.
We have visited here a bunch of times and the sushi is consistently amazing! Our waitress was attentive and when we left a bunch of staff said goodbye to us. It's a wonderful little sushi restaurant to eat at!
As mentioned by other users, Sushi Robata has a pleasant, cozy, somewhat dimly lit atmosphere.
Service: 4/5
I came in for lunch on a Friday a little after 1pm. With lunch ending at 2pm, the staff service was still good and so kind.
Food: 3/5
As featured below, I didn’t order any real sushi items except for the California roll that came with the bento box. With that taken into account, the food I ordered was good, but nothing spectacular. The udon noodles had a great texture and the broth matched it well.
The bento box had grilled mackerel and pork cutlets. The pork cutlets were a bit overcooked as they were tough and dry. The dipping sauce helped to mask it a little. The grilled mackerel had a great crispy seared skin, and they removed all bones, too! However it was slightly overcooked so some of the bigger parts of the flesh were a little dry and somewhat tough. California roll was surprisingly good, being served at room temperature elevates it from normal fridge/grocery store rolls.
Price: 4/5
Good value for lunch, especially those who don’t eat heavily for lunch. Bento was like $9 and the noodles were about $8. I wish they would have charged a little less for the udon, but considering the great texture, maybe they made it in house.
The sushi here is absolutely delicious. Very nice service and the food came at pretty fast. I had the Shrimp and Vegetable tempera. I also had to try the the spider roll, which was everything I expected. To finish off the meal we tried the green tea ice cream which was probably the best I've ever eaten. Overall this i would recommend going here for some delicious Japanese food.

I recommend this place .
Very good small bites/appetizers. Food were delicious. You may not expect much from the outside of the restaurant but once you step in, it's a whole different atmosphere. Very warm and cozy. Great service.
