I am very new to Vietnamese food and still can't pronounce "Pho" right in a normal sentence but when I branched out with this one, I really enjoyed it. I didn't know exactly what I ordered then so I'll just describe it! It was a charbroiled pork dish with rice noodles and veggies and an egg roll and fish sauce. Delicious. All of it. I was nervous about the appetizer because of the texture of rice paper but it was cooked perfectly and not slimy at all. I continue to be pleasantly surprised when I step out of my comfort zone. You will like it, too.
The green papaya salad is amazing! Lots of pork and large shrimp. It's not on the lunch menu so u have to ask. I always get it and the sauce is fresh - with a kick. Love It!
****. We always enjoy our visit to Green Papaya when we are in Big D visiting family and friends. This visit was no different. Our table of five started out with an assortment of spring rolls. All fresh and tasty. We each ordered different entrees and shared amongst ourselves. Food and Service was great. Air conditioning appeared to be struggling to keep the room fresh and cool! Otherwise, we give Green Papaya food and staff a strong four star rating. Valet parking attendant was spot on as well.
Best pho EVER. Went out of suburbia to give this place a try on a friends recommendation. Went here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch.
Pro's: Laid back atmosphere, eclectic crowd, outstanding pho, knowledgeable server
Con's: unassuming exterior
Bottom line, this is the best pho that I have tried in the DFW area. The Broth in the chicken pho was flavorful, there were chunks of real grilled chicken (vs boiled), rice noodles had actual taste to them, and the rolls were excellent. The server was very knowledgeable of all their food and had good recommendations. Atmosphere fit into the oak lawn/uptown area. Free valet service, outdoor seating, and wifi available.
I would make the 30+ minute drive for their pho again. Scored a "like" and a"favorite" from me.
Great food, great service... poor atmosphere. This is some of the best thai food in Dallas. I loved the spring rolls and their version of iced coffee with that unique cream is to die for! However, the atmosphere is like eating at iHOP. it does have a decent outdoor patio. I still go again and again.
I like it. But I don't love it. It used to be a really great place to eat but something has happened over the years. It's now just pretty decent. Somehow they just seem to have lost their passion. The decor is interesting in the one room but a little austere on the other side. Our service last time was slow and indifferent but the food was pretty good. It's in our neighborhood and we'll eat here again. It's just a little sad when you remember how good they used to be.
Don't be fooled by Pete. The food is delicious and the portions are huge! The service is very good and I haven't had anything I don't like. Definitely worth the trip.
I like the portions.. I'd have to say the Spring rolls are the best spring rolls in town. Probably the best I've ever had. They give really big portions and authentic, delicious Vietnamese cuisine. I would definitely recommend this place.
Good but not amazing. I have to say this is not the most authentic vietnamese food that I have had. I had the pho with tofu and it was just ok. The service was great and the atmosphere was lovely. Might go back for a cocktail and maybe to try another dish.
I travel from LA and when I come to Dallas I make sure to stop by. The shrimp spring rolls are excellent and I've never had a bad experience. The two managers have been there for at least 7 years and must be doing something right given the lunch crowds every day. Again- Highly recommend!
AMAZING!. I can not say enough about the Green Papya- there are a few restaraunts that I frequent when I visit Dallas- and this is one of my stops! I've never had the same dish and everytime I leave stuffed and thrilled with the food!
A must go to. Every time I go to Dallas I eat at this place. It is perfect every time. The veggies are cooked perfectly and the meet is worth the 10 hour trip to get there. Can't wait to go back.
Good food, but you pay for the location... I agree with other reviewers that the spring rolls are excellent. I had beef with garlic sauce which was a bit on the tough. I'll try a chicken dish next time.
I love their spring rolls, pho soup and chicken salad. It's a great place for a quick and easy meal.
Order the spring rolls, best in town!
The pho is great! I order it with half beef/half meatballs. Yum!
I almost didn’t go here due to the price but once I got my pizza I understood. I had the vegetable pizza with the avocado sauce and my kids had the pepperoni. While both were good the vegetable pizza was fantastic. Non vegans enjoyed this as well. The sauce on the side was sooooo good. We will definitely be back when we come in to town. I did ask for one topping to be removed as I know what I like but they were nice about it.
Yummy plants based foods. Nice atmosphere. Love the acai bowl. The robot delivered food was a touch.
A nice twist with the food. Great taste on the food menus and a bonus of a relaxing ambiance. We love the impossible burger, truffle pizza, healthy bowls and the latte. Nathan and other crews are very helpful with us with the new concept of the restaurant now it is plant based. It is making a difference on the way we eat.
My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVED our meal here. He had the spicy jalapeño burger, and said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had. I had the tofu pho, and it was simply incredible. Being vegan, I haven’t had pho in years as it is traditionally not vegan. Their version packs phenomenal flavor and comes in a massive bowl. We also shared a peach smoothie that was so fresh and delicious. We can’t wait to come back!
Good food, loved the variety, and friendly staff. I enjoyed the mushroom toast any my husband liked the breakfast sandwich with pancakes. Oh, and a little robot brought us our food - so that’s as good. We will be back!
Wow! Incredibly impressed with this gem! The truffle pizza was SO delicious, creamy and savory. We also got the pepperoni one, which is definitely a classic. I’m glad it could be gluten free!
Nathan was super helpful and a joy to talk to! Really appreciate the pristine green aesthetic here. Also enjoyed the rainbow drink! I’m looking forward to trying more of the menu. Wish it was open a little later!
I was shocked by how good this bacon barbecue burger is! Now that’s a flavor I have been craving, and they hit it out of the park! The little side salad was still substantial and fresh with the avocado, blueberries, and strawberries.
*One small issue tho… my orange latte drink was only half actual drink and half foam. The food was so good tho, and what I had of the drink was alright. I hope that getting half a cup’s worth of drink isn’t a normal thing. I said something to them today, but I don’t think she understood me. I’ll make sure next time. If that’s normal, something should be stated to let customers know they aren’t getting jipped on drinks.
I don’t know how I let Green Papaya slip through my fingers for so many years!! The food is delicious, it’s centrally located, and it’s beautiful inside. I had the BBQ burger and it was fantastic, as were the spring rolls. I recommend anyone - vegan or otherwise - give the BBQ burger a shot, it’s delicious!
I LOVE this place! All vegan menu that offers some really delicious and healthy items! I had their jalapeño beyond burger and epic fries. The restaurant has plenty of parking in the back, not a lot up front. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I want to go back to try their breakfast sandwiches!
Umami Green Toast is out of this world!! The coaster doesn’t look the best, but it’s so flavourful and filling, highly recommend. Atmosphere is great, loves the colours of the decor, and the robot that delivers food is a cute little touch.
