The American Girl Doll Store boasts an impressive array of dolls and accessories that cater to various interests and historical periods. Each doll is meticulously crafted, showcasing intricate details in clothing, accessories, and accompanying storybooks. This attention to detail contributes to a rich and immersive experience for children.
However, the pricing of these dolls and accessories can be perceived as steep, considering the limited range of movement and the materials used. While the dolls are undoubtedly well-made, I find it challenging to justify the higher cost. The plastic construction of the dolls, coupled with the restrained movements and non premium hair might not align with the expectations set by the premium pricing.
In an era where us as parents are increasingly mindful of the value for money, a more competitive pricing strategy or enhancements in terms of material quality and movement capabilities could potentially make the American Girl Doll experience more accessible and appealing to a broader audience.
Beautiful concept to bring young kids to interact with their dolls. As an adult who is 46 years old, I still felt like this place is just expensive and it makes parents feel bad when they can't purchase things for their children. Yes I am aware that this is a way of keeping those who can afford it out of the store but even those parents who can't afford to be in the store that small extra add-ons that are there can cost you upwards of $100. Most things in there started at thirty bucks. My niece had her third birthday lunch there. Her mother had planned it and save. so we had a tea party and my niece was able to find a doll that had her skin tone had her features. Her grandmother paid for one I paid for a smaller baby. because she's only three years old and the bigger doll was too big for her to really play with. I'm glad that I did but again expensive. The tea party was okay, I felt like some of the servers had more energy and we're more into the tea party for the children than other servers. I felt like the presentation for the food could have been better. Will be attaching images. Also, found out that if you don't get the birthday package the birthday girl doesn't even get a crown or a paper tiara or whatever they had available for birthday packages. I inquired about getting one for my niece. We didn't do the package because it was only four of us. they were like no unfortunately you know we can't give her the headpiece which I thought was weird cuz it was made of paper. I know that's just me and my older ways being annoyed with customer service sometimes being lackluster. My three-year-old niece left American Doll very happy was very pleased and that what's important. I know if I ever go again that it will have to be told prior to us going there either you're not getting a doll this time. Or you'll be getting something different. I can see how many parents walk out with multiple dolls and not saying that I know their finances. but to watch a doll costing $115 plus tax and seeing parents walking around with two or three dollars a stroller and a car you know they spent upwards of $500. It just blew my mind. I think this is a great place to go if you're a grandparent or an aunt who has extra income to spend on such exorbitant toy. And you pray that the kid doesn't tear it up and grosse Ile appreciate the doll.

Had the best time at the American Girl Tea experience! There was plenty of food and the girls loved that their dolls were included in the fun. This is truly a children’s tea, the food selection was good for pickier eaters BUT the tea selections aren’t super kid friendly. They do serve a sparkling cider In champagne flutes that the girls loved.
The servers were kind, courteous and accommodating (my 90 year old grandmother attended and they were very helpful getting her seated comfortably).
Great, sweet family time for our girls! Would recommend to anyone with young girls.
I'm giving this store a cautious 4. It was worth visiting. My daughter loves American Girl; especially the accessories. However, we drove over 8 hours to visit. The staff didn't seem to care what it took to be there. It seems they are instructed to inform customers they can't provide hairstyles or tea to any other brand of doll. We should have looked into it further in advance, but our daughter decided to leave her American Girl brand doll at home in favor of a My Life girl she likes better. Because of that, she could not pay to have her doll's hair styled, etc. I'm sure they don't want to be responsible for other brand hair quality, etc. We didn't make a scene but it was honestly very disappointing that they didn't even try to work with us. We asked how much a doll costs and it's $115 for the type that can have a hairstyle. Also, please note that you cannot color the hair. The colorful hair styles on display are only available on a couple of dolls - they are pre-colored. Thankfully, my daughter ended up liking accessories in the 1986 line-up, which made the trip a more affordable success. No doll, no hairstyle, no tea. We even wore matching t-shirts from an American Girl doll themed birthday she had. The store has many dolls and accessories on display. A little girl's dream if your wallet can handle it. Wish they would have made it a little more special for my daughter.
We had a rocky experience last time, but this time made up for it. A fun experience for our daughter, especially for her birthday. Good food, cake, happy birthday, hats for her and her dolls, and an overall neat experience. Just be prepared to spend money because it is not cheap, and you won't get past the actual store without buying something!
This place is unreal, a mega store for dolls, girls and family. The food was nice, good service. We had a lot of fun. It has 2 floors, where you can buy, style your dolls, eat and stroll around. You kids will love it.
This is the second American Girl I’ve ever been to, and wow! I was blown away! This store is a stand alone store, it is on the grounds of the mall, but is not attached. They had practically every doll in stock, but not many matching clothes options for child and doll. This store also has a doll salon and restaurant that are both by available by appointment.
Had a birthday brunch with the niece here. She loved the store and that she could have lunch with her doll. They take great care to make sure the experience is memorable, extra little things like a cup and place setting for the doll, addressing the kids, singing, etc.
The food was good too, we tried a bit of everything from the brunch menu between all of us. Definitely worth the visit; would take her back again to see the smile on her face.
Great location and easy to find. Staff was extremely friendly and organized even despite being very busy. This location is two stories and has a large selection as well.
I took in a 30yr old bitty baby. My daughter was gifted this doll on her bday 30yrs ago. She loved it well and then my youngest daughter, took over loving her. So the doll was in pretty bad shape after being loved by two sisters. I don't know why she saved it but she did. And then my oldest daughter passed away 😢. I found it again going though my daughters thingsI took it in to have it put back together for my 1st grandchild her mom was the 1st mommy.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend booking ahead of time for restaurant or hair. It is super easy online. Other wise you may not get in or have to wait a long time.

My husband and I were excited to bring our 9 year old daughter to her DREAM as well as share it with her bestie of course. Honestly, I was so excited about it and as we opened the door and walked into the store it was like when Dorothy opened the door in the Wizard of Oz and it revealed the rich tones of technicolor and the far off land of make believe feeling you get as a kid. AMAZING! An employee helped us a lot , she saw us looking at certain things and my daughter was asking lots of questions about the play set in which she was so nice and told her all about it and more and made my daughter and her friend smile . She told us if we needed anything, she was there to help and she did and with such kindness and its so wonderful to experience kindness especially right now when it seems like we are all in limbo and its every man or woman for themselves .. not this woman . I wish I caught her name, but thank you so much! My husband surprised our daughter and her friend with a new doll for each and it was AN AMAZING DAY AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE . Definitely recommend!!! We are going there again and again for sure !!thank you and the beauty of American Girl Dolls and there story 💕
**Update ** The store is still AMAZING I DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE !
I just need to say the employees of this American Girl Store in Dallas are SO KIND AND SOOOO FABULOUS!
My daughter bought two of Courtney's Accessories- The Boom Box that came with mix tapes and THEY REALLY PLAY MUSIC 🎶
SHE ALSO got the walkman.Walkman. We love Courtney ❤️
I think we all know that the merch here is not cheap but making a kid's dreams come true is priceless. Even as an adult, you can appreciate the craftsmanship of the products. The store is well laid out and everything presented very well. The staff is very friendly and eager to assist with anything.
The store is amazing...daughter was in heaven! We even got her new dolls ears pierced but they were too booked for a hair style...next time maybe...but the bistro, the service is very slow...don't expect that to be quick...and we were disappointed as it was just my daughter and I...first timers...they never brought her the doll sizes saucer and mug, we had to ask for it...everyone else around us has them...we didn't get anything for the doll to eat or drink when everyone else has those items...we asked and they were super nice and brought it but had to ask...then the tiered tray that comes out with the appetizers in them...they brought us a single flat plate Instead of the three tier okay set which my daughter was enamored by...they didn't even bring us the ranch for the veggies, the yogurt for the fruit etc...like they were mad that I yl she was eating or that we were splitting as I didn't realize it was a full meal...so I had to ask for the tiered pretty plate and the sides they forgot...
The food was ok but the amount of time we sat there without service and then having to ask for everything was a little ridiculous...we def won't do that part of the experience again. We had reservations ahead of time too!!
OMG plan on spending 2 to 4 hours when you come. We had a blast shopping and eating here. I had to get my little girl the remote control car.
What a wonderful time we had for my daughters birthday! The workers are all very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend
Great experience for the young girls but a bit overwhelming. So many dolls and outfit options to look at and choose from. The bistro was good, not great. The menu options (regular vs. Holiday) weren't very clear and we had to ask a lot of questions. The food was so-so. You're really going for the experience over quality, in my opinion.
Our 2.5 year old had a great time in here the day after Christmas. She loves her new pal and we look forward to spending a portion of her college fund on accessories and clothes! But it's worth it, right? The lunch at the bistro was surprisingly GOOD and the waitress was awesome. -1 star because there was nobody offering any direction for first-timers. Also, there were some dolls out of stock (day after Christmas, I know.)
