Came all the way from Virginia for some resl TexMex and El Fenix delivered everything I was expecting. Adding to my places to recommend to friends.
The buffet was amazing. Every offering was tasty in a different way. I couldn't help eating lots and lots. The wait staff was attentive and very kind about our baby making a little mess while he tried some. I will definitely go back! Best Mexican food I've had in ages.
The food was good, the margaritas were great. The server was amazing, she did a great job, considering how many tables she had (I’ll havd to ask my daughter what her name was,) . Also Erik, who greeted us and sat us, was so personable and nice to everyone. We will surely return, if not to this one, we will go to the one in Plano, which is closer to where we live 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Consistently delicious! Have eaten here since childhood & still love it 😊
A tried and true go to. The Martinez Plate with a side of rice is my fave. It was extra good this time.

Mini 48 year High School Reunion - They were SOOO accommodating to us noisy old folks - I MUST apologize to the other patrons who had to listen to our rabble! The food looked great, but I didn’t eat much myself - too busy talking!
My family and I have frequented this particular El Fenix location since the 70's and the food and service have constantly been outstanding. We love Friday nights and be sure to ask for Gaspar, he's a wonderful waiter!
Love this place good food and service. I have been eating at this place for 30 years.
El Fenix did a great job of accommodating our large family for my father’s 91st birthday. Thank you for the private room right up front. Helping us with grand kids and great grand kids. Even taking a family picture!!!
Best place in Big D!! To eat; and to enjoy friends.....
I have been eating at El Felix, for 50 yrs! Casa Linda Location, Downtown on McKinney, Skillman Location, Northwest Highway, Lemmon Ave and when it was at Northpark!
Love this location. Staff is always super friendly and the food is awesome!
As always, great food and great service. We love El Fenix and this is a great one!
Soooo good!!! Stopped in for lunch, you know a place is good when the restaurant is busy. The decor inside is very lively, and the food was delicious. I got a cup of the chicken tortilla soup, really generous for being a smaller portion, it was delicious. I also got an appetizer sampler, great selection and it was all fantastic. I can't wait to go back to start trying all of the other items on the menu! Oh, and the chips and salsa were really good too.
I love their chips and salsa and the service is amazing the lady who served me made by day. I am vegetarian. I tried veg enchiladas they were good but I tried some other dishes n it was just lettuce and beans and cheese so didn't enjoy it a lot. The drinks are amazing the mango chamoya is really good. Overall amazing experience.
Manager Gigi runs a wonderful location. So professional to see her and other managers walking around speaking to ALL of the tables. Gave us a 5 star restaurant feel. Server Diego was so good I will be asking for him each time I return from now on. One of the best dinning establishments in DFW.
We love El Fenix at north west hwy Dallas . Gigi and are server Stan absolutely amazing! This is the best el Fenix ever ! Food and service is fabulous! Thank you El Fenix for Stan and Gigi ! This store has the best food and service ever!! We have been coming here for 38 years and it is still amazing 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️. Thank you
I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Fenix, and I must say that it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and attentive staff who made me feel welcome.
The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, creating a perfect setting for a meal. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes that catered to various tastes and dietary preferences. The flavors were vibrant and memorable, highlighting the culinary expertise of the chefs.
I was particularly impressed by the quality of the ingredients used in each dish. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant completely satisfied.
What truly sets El Fenix apart, though, is the exceptional service. The staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the menu, provided helpful recommendations, and were attentive to my needs throughout the meal.
Overall, I had an outstanding dining experience at El Fenix. The combination of delicious food, inviting ambiance, and excellent service truly made it a memorable occasion. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable Mexican dining experience.
El Fenix has always been me and my mom's favorite Mexican Restaurant. She died on December 1st. I will always love El Fenix and it brings back many memories of my wonderful mom!
Normally, this would be a 5 rating. The food is always good and the service excellent. My problem though cannot go without mention. This el fenix has had a problem with the dinners coming out on a very very hot plate. This time it was a scortcher. Th his is not necessary. The young man warned of the hot plate and boy it was. My wife and i, 10 minutes into our meal, had to litterally blow on our food then chase each bite with ice tea. It was so hot that i burned the roof of my mouth on my 4th or 5th bite. This is uncalled for. 15 minutes in its still too hot in the center of the plate. I will for sure rell this to my next server.
Wow, El Fenix celebrates 104 years in the Metroplex at this writing!
They must be doing something right to stay in the Mexican food business that long. So, what accounts for their longevity? Delicious food, low prices and outstanding service, to begin. On my visit I had the Brisket Enchiladas which were two Enchiladas filled with savory chopped brisket an onions and topped with a spicy red sauce. The meal also had black beans and Spanish rice. It was good but I wasn't a fan of the red sauce. Maybe next time I will ask for queso instead. There was a short line to get in just before 6 on a Wednesday night so I opted to take my dinner at the bar. My server brought me chips and salsa and had my order out to me mucho pronto. The ambiance is festive and lively. El Fenix is not a good place for quiet meditation but it is more like a fiesta. With tip, I got out of there for around $15. Congratulations on 104 years of Mexican food and here's to a hundred more.
Such good food
Worth the hype for sure. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff.
Good food, staff, and atmosphere. The place is much larger than i expected. It would be great for a party.
This is a great place to eat. The only reason it didn’t get four stars is because part of my dinner was over-done. The tamale, which was covered with sauce, had a firmness to it that indicated that it wasn’t fresh.
Love tex-mex/Mexican food and this place always has great options and staff! Enjoyed a nice lunch, good drinks, and great food 👌
The friendliest and fastest working Staff In Dallas, no lie. They always deserve more than a 20% tip and I’m always happy to give more. Their enchiladas are bomb and the Sopapilla is so tasty! Yummy dessert! They have great food specials too!
Our server was Vincent was efficient knowledgeable and so nice. The manager came over and talked to us about how things were and she was so nice. The food was amazing. So tasty and it came very quickly. We will definitely go back
