The flagship Trompo pork tacos were absolute perfection. The in-house made tortillas were so delicious. The elote was so tasty and unique in flavors. The quesadillas were so tasty as well especially paired with the in-house hot sauce choices.
Went on the suggestion of a local - Trompo taco and Barbacoa quesadilla were perfect. Cute little bottles of sauce added a delicious detail. As always, Topo Chico was the right drink…
The place is kinda small but good enuff. The menu does not have a large variety on food or drinks, but it also was ok with us. The bigger the menu, the more it seems like way too much. I tried the nachos abd on bistek taco 🌮 the Mr. Got a burrito, and it was pretty huge he also hot a quesadilla to try it out. It is good for a quick go to snack, and prices are reasonable.
Had been to their previous locations and really like the new location! Got a great space inside and they have some exciting plans to expand it. Menu is simple and fun. Want to come back and try their breakfast menu (not your fast food bfast tacos to go, a more leisure style breakfast). Got the trompo tacos, the Chile relleno taco and the empalme with barbacoa. They make their tortillas in house and I really like them. The flavor of the trompo meat was good, a little thickly sliced for my personal preference, but very enjoyable. I thought they did a really great job with the Chile relleno taco which I’ve also tried elsewhere and this is much better. The empalme I loved from their prior location and was so happy to get it again. Just a soul warming make you happy kind of snack. The agua frescas come in drink pouches. Jamaica was good, limonada was really good! Looking forward to going back, wish I lived closer!
I am a breakfast taco junkie and these breakfast tacos are amazing!
The homemade tortillas are perfect, and both the red and green sauces are delicious. I highly recommend them!
The food is a 4.5 star but my overall experience is a 3 star. Everything I tried was delicious and affordable prices! The poblano taco ($2.15) had ample filling and the tacos are double corn shells! When I ordered the quesadilla ($4.25 for tinga), I was thinking of all the quesadillas I have eaten in my life, so I was surprised their version is "open faced". To be fair when you order, it does show a picture but I didn't know if that was just a taco showing by mistake. You order outside (on a tablet on the wall) and there are no staff outside to assist with ordering. We actually walked inside and saw a few staff, and they just looked at us hahaha but we were not greeted. Since there were no customers we walked back outside. The jarritos ($2.25) are a good pair but they only offer sodas, water or juices; no alcohol choices available and that's a missed opportunity since it is a taco spot in bishop arts, open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The elote ($3.50) is a delicious take on the traditional, but the sizing did seem a bit smaller compared to the elote stands in the area for similar prices. Lastly, there is only outside seating and that's a personal miss for me. I don't mind sitting outside but prefer inside. There is ample seating and there are trees to give shade but since it's the fall, the leaves were falling. I was talking to a friend and looked at my elote cup and there were leaves in it. I would come back if I'm in the area but would not seek out to come until they have some inside seats. Spent about $13 on one drink, one taco, one quesadilla and one elote cup. There isn't an option to tip when you pay either!! Come on managers, give us the option.
9/7/19- stopped in and got the pork taco and quesadillas. Again....loved it.
11/7/18- Little place in Dallas that is worth the stop. Tacos are $2 and have a great flavor. The pork and beef are great. Elote was decent. Not a strong flavor.
Pretty darn good tacos. I will be sure to double up on the tortillas next time as their meat is quite wet. I suggest you do the same.
Barbacoa was really delicious - just VERY messy. ;)
We had Trompo cater my Wife's 40th birthday party over the weekend and I cannot say enough great things about Luis (owner) and the food they cooked for our 50 guests. Trompo, barbacoa and paneer/peppers tacos were amazing. All the guests ranted and raved about the food and asked for the name so they could go on their own. Thanks again, Luis!
Pretty decent taco place down in Bishop Arts.
I ordered a few of their tacos, everything was good.
I'm not sure if I'd come back considering there are so many taco places around.
They have some Outstanding Trompo Tacos! This place truly has a very simplicity charm to them. They only have 3 different types of meats trompo tacos, brisket tacos and some other meat that I didn't try but the first two Meats are so good and their Red Salsa is spicy and on point. If you're around the area it's a must stop for any Taco fan 💕
Great service, just ordered elote but put in more than just your average elote cup. The cup could be bigger for the price, but as stated not your average elote.
Amazing small little spot! The menu is extremely small but it has all that you need. The employees are always helpful, kind, and attentive. Personally my favorite is the bistec covered in the salsa verde they bring out. There is no where to sit , only standing, but personally I love it! It gives the restaurant a quick and easy / laid-back vibe. Highly recommend and hope to be back soon!
If you’re in the mood for some good tacos and quesadillas, this is the place. Tacos are on the small side but they are good! Quesadilla are very good also. Bistek was the way to go, trompo was not that good, but that los my opinion.
This place is amazing! From the vibe to the customer service this place is a must try if in Dallas. I felt the happiest I've felt eating their Trompo taco! Best tacos I've EVER!
Best Tacos 🌮 in Dallas, try the Gringa Quesadilla, you can thank me later! 🔥🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 Check this place out!
Funky little joint serving trompo tacos along with everything else you'd expect. Order at the kiosk out front or in the courtyard. Go inside if you order from out front. The Campechana is a must!
Decent tasting trompo tacos, meat could've been a little tender. Just that we have a lot of options now for authentic Mexican tacos, not sure if this place will stand up to the rest.
