Went Saturday night with the girls with 1hr left til closing the staff was energetic and friendly, we decided to sit at the bar and was waited on by Virginia (who was AWESOME) I was unable to decide what I wanted so I asked her to surprise me which she did. She brought out the two meat combo which included jerk chicken, curry chicken, rice and peas (with oxtail gravy on top) and spinach that they have somehow managed to taste like greens (yum)! The girls also got the two meat combo with jerk chicken, brown stew chicken, rice and cabbage. Everything was delicious I will definitely be returning for both happy hour (the drinks were good and strong) and brunch. Service is a tad bit slow but w/ great company you wouldn't be able to tell.
The food was really good. Our server was HORRIBLE. The hostess helped us more than our server.
Omg those oxtails was soooooo good and I recommend everybody to go here and the rum punch I’ll be back.

My first time at this restaurant and i has the crab cakes very good and our waitress was very attentive next time I’ll have to try the shrimp and grits and a rum punch

Love the jerk wings on the Happy Hour menu and the oxtails were just as GOOD! George, the bartender was attentive he told us about open mic and the live band dates. George rapped a couple of lines and stated he had performed during open mic nights. We will be back...
Very very very good... Everything was really good. Service was a little slow. They could use 2 host on Saturdays . I changed it to a 5 the food was amazing..

Food is so good. The server was so patient and attentive. We ordered the beef patty, oxtails, jerk chicken wings and the curry goat. The curry goat was fantastic. I had the spinach and rice and peas for the side. One of the best beef patties that I have ever eaten. My sister really enjoyed the oxtails. The jerk wings are cooked just right. We were too full to try any of the desserts. We got the Pineapple Paradise drink (it says it serves two but I disagree with that) and the rum punch. Both drinks were really tasty. We went during lunch so it wasn’t busy. The food came out so hot and fresh. Found parking right in front at the meter
If it’s your first time, go during happy hour. I say that because you’re going to want more drinks. The rum punch was the best I’ve ever had. While I can’t give a raving review about the food I had, I can say the service was a 10/10 and that will bring me back to try more. Roger allowed me to sample the curry chicken that was really good and I liked my bread pudding, neither are pictured,
Been here a few times. Usually dine in and have great experience. Four stars come from whenever I order take out. My biggest concern is portions when I order takeout. Food still delicious but portion smaller. I ordered jerk nachos last to go visit. Online order system did not allow me to customize my jerk burger how I wanted another visit. My takeaway is eat in for best experience 😊
Our first time here, and we will most definitely be back. The food and drinks are really good for the price in today’s economy. We went on a Friday night and was able to find parking close by and was seated immediately.
Stopped by on a Wednesday and grabbed a seat at the bar. I ordered the curry shrimp with white rice and cabbage. It was pretty good and the portion size was decent! The bar tender was very friendly!
Well as typical of authentic Jamaican, the food took a little while to come, but when it did everything tasted the way it was supposed to. Portions are on the small side, prices are on the large side but it fits the bill when you want atmosphere and flavor. Our table was authentically rickety too, lol watch your drink!
Got to experience this little gem in the middle of my afternoon. First the music 🎵 Yesss! Snagged a few songs for my playlist. Been needing some new vibes. Service was so nice! I had to change plans for to go instead and very accommodating. Got nachos and boom whatever that cheese. So so good and different and of course the chicken perfect. I agree lettuce on my nachos was not what I was used to but I think it is probably an authentic thing. Got some chicken tenders and so much better than I was expecting! It was so good. One plea Mama Joyce in your kitchen ----Can you please find a way to make coconut tenders 😀 lol. Overall a wonderful experience.
I usually order the large jerk chicken plate with beans and rice and cabbage. The food is so delicious that I don't eat at any similar spot in DFW! The atmosphere is a vibe. I have dined in and taken meals to go. I have been coming here for over a year and I will continue to support!
i got the oxtails with saffron rice and spinach , this right here was bomb dot com, some of the best oxtails i’ve ever had and during lunch hours of 11-3p , this plate was only $20bucks, you literally can’t beat that, i ordered online and came to pick it up and tried some in the car and i literally sat in my car devouring this food!!!!! it was so good and flavorful , i will be back!!
10 out of 10 I would highly recommend this restaurant. Nice atmosphere, wonderful service and the food was great. Oh, and the rum punch snuck up on me lol. I absolutely enjoyed everything!
Music was a little bit loud, but everything was wonderful, espthe food. Waitstaff was very prompt and professional.
I enjoyed my visit at the Island Spot! The server was hospitable and fast! She had our food out quickly and ensured our cups stayed full. Though we sat outside she still was attentive and the drinks were great! The food was amazing but a little cool. Overall, great music, great environment, great food and great service. I’d recommend!

Sides were a nicely seasoned cooked spinach and saffron rice.
The Red Stripe went well with the meal.
