Gen Kai Japanese Restaurant - Dana Point - Photo album

Dana Point Chamber Ambassadors showing love to one of our fabulous DP restaurants. Everyone enjoyed their lunch today...sushi eater or not! Irene was so accommodating and helpful. Can't wait to go back!
I look forward to eating the non-rolls, but I can say the rolls are HUGE and VERY filling. Very quick service and the place looks very cool. Decent parking in the back.
I will give a 5/5, even the price not beautiful but good delicious and the staff & chef treat u like a family
Great place we walked to from the hotel. Staff was so nice, food was great after a whole day of traveling, and most importantly they have Tamari for the Celiacs/GF!
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The service was really friendly, fast, efficient and good. The restaurant was packed on a friday night. We started our meal with the Miso soup. It was overall good, but I felt it may have been a bit too salty and grainy for my liking. We then had the fr
Vegetarian roll with the sweet potato (add cream cheese) omggggg So delicious! We ended up ordering another one, it was so good! Thank you Gen Kai for top quality fish and sushi. Can't wait to come visit again.
Best Sushi restaurant on the west coast! Go hungry and trust Yoshi the master chef choose for you. Trust me! Every time I've visited, I've enjoyed something new and exciting. Perfect for small groups. They were even accommodating to my young son. I highly recommend this place. I also recommend not o
Great food. Really enjoyed the food!
The sushi tasted fresh and the fish was soft. Went there for a date night with my boyfriend. Sat down within 5 minutes of walking in at the bar. The sushi chef served us 2 delicious sushi rolls. We shared them and we were satisfied. There's a ton of different fish options.
I have been going to Gen Kai since I was a little kid, I am 45 now. My Dad helped as the Realtor for the first location in Dana Point. Always great. We got some rolls and the monkfish liver. A great place for working lunches
Excellent! The service from start to finish was honest and friendly. The sushi, specialty rolls, and hand rolls were nicely presented and tasted clean and fresh. The pop-up shrimp and spicy tuna specialty roll was especially good. If I am back in the area I will definitely come back.
I suggest sitting at the Sushi bar. The employees are very friendly and fun. Everything from sushi to fresh yellowtail, salmon, & halibut sashimi it's always fresh. Soft shell crab, and teriyaki steak excellent!
The best sushi restaurant in South Orange County. Melt in your mouth thick-cut yellow tail sashimi. Extensive cooked and raw selection. Fresh wasabi. Chefs have a fun presence. Overall awesome!
An unassuming but delicious little sushi bar. Five sushi chefs popping out plenty of great rolls and some interesting appetizers ( spicy tuna stuffed Anaheim peppers, fried pop shrimp on spicy tuna rolls, baked green mussels , crab stuffed tomatoes... fresh local and worth it :)
Fantastic experience and food. Sat at sushi bar. Everything was fresh quick and tasted great. Loved my usual unagi. Tried some new stuff too.
