El Patio Cafe - Dana Point - Photo album

One of the greatest old standby business in the area worth supporting. It's family owned and completely authentic. Great spot to have some beers, enjoy grandma's cooking (tacos and soups are my faves) and meet some nice people. Great place to have a party too!
This place showed up as a wifi hotspot. Found out it also has outside seating, friendly service, great food. And the WiFi is good too.
Love this place. Waitresses are super nice, almost like getting food at your mom or grandma's. Friday night halibut tacos are fantastic. On Wednesdays, old doc Peterson is there playing guitar there so you can listen to some music and maybe get your eyes checked. Super local. Kinda like Turks. 10/10
I love authentic Mexican food. When I walked in to el patio, I thought it would just be another Americanized Mexican restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. It was all delicious and the plate i got was not Americanized at all. Also, the staff was wonderful. Will definitely come here
El Patio is my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant in southern California, and I come as often as I can.
This place absolutely rocks! A family restaurant that opened in the 1930s owned by a local surfing guru named Jack. Generous portions, fast and friendly service and the best Mexican food on the planet! If you want to know anything about surfing or just enjoy local flavor, Jack is the man! I can't
Family owed and operated for many many years. If you want authentic, healthy, scrumptious Mexican food, go here. I took friends from England there rather than to a chain restaurant. They loved it and the server.
5 Stars. Yeah, so it doesn't have a exotic cuisine. Ambiance is circa 1960 diner. But this is "Lucy's", a landmark among locals and their visiting friends since forever. The food is truly authentic Mexican. Some may think it is "plain", but it's real.
Been eating at Lucy's El Patio Cafe probably since 1970. Excellent consistent tasty Mexican food all up and down the menu. Friendly thoughtful name recognised service for everyone. Truly a classic special place.
The mahi, mahi and calamari tacos were fantastic! The service was fast and friendly. They give you chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh and very good! I'll definitely go back!
Family owned landmark in SoCal you never know who you might see. Excellent authentic Mexican food with fresh soups and friendly service. Try the Halibut tacos on fridays and a tip is on tuesday get 5 tacos for $5 dollars. A classic beach town feel for family and friends.
The service was great but the food was meh. A lot of people reviewed this as authentic Mexican food but it seemed pretty Americanized to me. It was pretty cheap though, so you get what you pay for I guess.
I had not been here forever, thought it was closed, not even sure if I actually had even been here.I ordered a combo w: an enchilada and a chile relleno,it was really good if not authentic. More money than most, but is not your usual run of the mill Mex restaurant.
Nothing better. It's the best. My 3 favs: cheese enchilada no onion with rice, Chile relleno or bean and chicken sope. All so amazing. Joyce is the sweetest lady in the world. And Teresa too. And Margarita will give you a hard time, for sure 😂👍
I have been coming here for many years and the food is just the best! Casual and laid back atmosphere and great service.
If you are looking for great Mexican food. Look no further. This is the place. I don't think they have upgraded the place since it opened 50+ years ago. But you don't go for the decor, you go for the food.
Good tacos and tortillas and good beer. The place is clean and the servers are nice and efficient. I like this place very much.
First time going there and apparently it opened in 50's and the staff are super nice! And the food was great and value for money!
