We had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Their oyster selection is amazing. I had never tried absinthe, so I got my feet wet with a cava+absinthe cocktail- perfect with oysters. Who knew? My husband had their New Tokyo cocktail with his (which he loved, even though he usually likes his scotch/whisk(e)y straight but went off the recommendation of our waiter). Also, we were a little surprised at how they served the mignonette, but it was so much easier to use in dropper form! And because my husband loves that peet-y flavor in his scotch, our waiter gave us the Peet Monster to have with the oysters.
Also. Their homemade Hawaiian rolls were fantastic!
We cannot wait to go back!
The food and atmosphere we amazing. The staff is well versed in the menu and their attention to detail is fantastic. My only issue with The Kimball House is that it can be loud but it won't stop me from going in the future!
Perfection! My partner and I dined here for the first time tonight for his birthday. Everything was lovely. We love the vibe of the place. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. The food was amazing, and my partner loved his cocktails. I have several food allergies, and I’m so grateful that the Chef was able to accommodate. This is now one of my favorite restaurants, and I can’t wait to go back.
My fiance and I celebrate our anniversary here on Sept 9th. When we got there everyone was wishing us happy anniversary they even have a glass of champagne for us. I had the best steak dinner well tasty and flavorful and he had the fish which was also delicious. From now on this will be our favorite little spot.���

I have never experienced such attentive yet down to earth waitstaff. They thoroughly answered every question. The restaurant was beautifully restored and decorated. The food was amazing. I had the most delicious 3 course meal and my husband loved his oysters and pork shoulder. Make yoir special night even more special at the Kimball House

What an amazing place. Went there by invitation from a friend who is moving away and enjoyed some excellent cocktails and an unreal selection of oysters from both coasts. The service was outstanding—our server really knew her oysters and cocktails. Kudos to Kimball House for this splendid experience!

One of my favorite places in Decatur, they set the bar high, in that area. They’ve expanded their business with a new dining experience called Watchmans at Krogg St opening on June 19th ... they stand for quality and great service. #TopNotch
First time eating here for my birthday tonight. Great friendly service. You don't have just one server. Everybody helps take care of you and all the servers were friendly and knowledgable of the menu. The food was inventive and delicious. We will definitely be back next time we come to Atlanta. The beef tar tar was amazing!!
Absolutely fantastic, start to finish. The interiors are perfect, from the period lighting & tufted booths, to the grand wood bar and eclectic accessories. I loved the assortment of vintage bar & glassware that accompanied the very unique (and tasty!) cocktail selection. The food... oh the food. Extraordinary. We had the beef tartare, grilled oysters, sweetbreads, scallops & house made sausage in perfectly pillowed pasta. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was a true culinary experience! And the waitstaff really was the icing on the cake. Attentive, engaging, mature, and you could tell they took pride in their restaurant. We can't wait to come back the next time we are in town!
Wonderful experience! The staff was absolutely first-rate, from the hostess to the several servers who took the time to chat. Our server suggested a Brooklyn cocktail, something we had never heard of, and it was divine! No doubts why Kimball House is rated as one of Atlanta's best places for food and cocktails.

Cocktails menu is incredible and creative with a great attention to details. You can even watch all the hard work they put into creating your drinks.
A negative aspect would be the price but it is worth it since the quality is here!
Everything about Kimball House is impressive. Luke and the other bartenders did a great job with cocktails and they were all knowledgeable about the oyster selection, which is unmatched. Kimball House is worth the trip to Decatur from Atlanta every time. We will definitely be back.
Kimball House is my favorite restaurant in Metro-Atlanta. I’ve never had a bad meal, and they’re always changing up the menu. You can go for drinks alone, oysters alone, or a full course menu.
I would not call Kimball House a “restaurant”, I would call it “an experience.” I’ve visited here three times in the span of the last 6 months and each time has been nothing short of wonderful. From the moment you walk in the door, to every single person you interact with, and every single thing you put in your mouth….it’s like Christmas. The staff is so detail oriented, they notice things before you do. Yes, this is a pricey meal, but it’s worth every penny. Every dish I’ve ever had here leaves me speechless. The beverages are also out of this world. Unique, tasty, and the perfect amount of booze to get your belly warmed up for Oysters! Kimball House has special place in my heart. It makes every celebration and special date night that much better and I’m grateful to have discovered this spot sooner than later!
This is our go to place for wonderful food and I’m not sure why I’m just reviewing! My husband and daughter love the oysters and always get seconds. We then share small plates. We always get the pâté which is always wonderful. And we always get the steak tartare, also alway wonderful. When I checked the menu ahead of time, I was dismayed to see no steak tartare so I googled a bit and decided to sub the caviar and middlins. I was thrilled to see steak tartare on the menu but still got the caviar and middlins. Amazing. And the waitress suggested chicken skins to pile these one, wonderful. We are never disappointed. Oh and cocktails are always outstanding!
Kimball house is definitely a treat every single time. We love most of their food, especially the oysters and chicken skin. But sometimes their food can be too overly salty.
One of the best thing we had this time was the Cayatelli. The vodka dauce was creamy, the seafood were all so fresh and well balanced in the creamy sauce. Cayatelli was cooked to perfection and each bite was fun and flavorful!
The beef tartar was also very refreshing with the capers and chili mayo sauce. The rosemary chip paired perfectly with the soft texture of the tartar, it was a great starter!
Because their menu changes from time to time, I cannot say what is the best but some of their staple Hors d' Oeuvres like chicien skin, Hawaiian roll with their special preserves always hots the spot!
Gorgeous space. Fantastic food. Great service. Kimball House lived up to its reputation. I’ve had a lot of amazing meals in Atlanta, and Kimball House is at the top.
The restaurant is housed in a historic train depot. It’s warm with wood and vintage lighting.
We started with a delicious selection of oysters. That was followed by the Mushroom Tartine. It was a drool-inspiring dish that had creamy ricotta, sautéed wild mushrooms and an herbaceous dill extract rounding out the dish. I cannot wait to eat it again
I had the grouper, which was cooked to perfection. My husband had the steak with roe accompaniment . We finished the meal with Peanut Butter Pie.
Everything was perfect, including the fantastic cocktail program. It will be in my rotation of restaurants I love, and take out-of-town guests too.
